Dos especies de copépodos pertenecientes al género Asterocheres fueron halladas en recolectas recientes al norte de la provincia de Matanzas. Se describe la especie asociada a la esponja del género Callyspongia Duchassaing y Michelotti, 1864, como una nueva especie de copépodo sifonostomatoideo para la ciencia. Se discuten las diferencias más importantes entre esta especie y sus similares. Se informa, por primera vez, la presencia de A. crinoidicola asociada a un crinoideo del género Davidaster Hoggett y Rowe, 1986, en aguas del archipiélago cubano.ABSTRACTTwo species of copepods belonging to the genus Asterocheres were found in recent collections in the North of Matanzas province. The one associated to the sponge of the genus Callyspongia Duchassaing y Michelotti, 1864 is described as a new species of siphonostomatoid copepod to science. The differences among the new specie and the more similar ones are also presented. A. crinoidicola, associated to a crinoid of the genus Davidaster Hoggett y Rowe, 1986 is recorded for the first time for the Cuban Archipelago.

Abstract New investigations in the Pliocene deposits of Challans (Vendée) have allowed to collect more than 3000 marsupiate echinoids, remarkably preserved. So, apical systems, especially the marsupium of the breeding temnopleurids T. (V.) bigoti and C. bardini, have been described and figured for the first time with complete specimens. Two new marsupiate species have been described: Arbacina hugueti nov. sp., third marsupiate species of the genus Arbacina to be known in the Neogene of western France after A. emmae NÉRAUDEAU, 2003 from the Messinian of Brittany and A. pareyni ROMAN, 1983 from the Pliocene of Normandy; Tremaster romani, new species and genus of temnopleurid, characterised by an uncommon supra-ambital tuberculation, with excressences of the test surrounding scrobiculated tubercles. A third new marsupiate echinoid, Coptechinus sp. A, has been found too, but it is very difficult to know if it is a new species or a new morphotype of C. bardini. Contrarily to previous interpretations, this study points out the high diversity of western European Neogene marsupiate echinoids, a diversity comparable to the one of Australian Neogene marsupiate echinoids. However, breeding species from Australia and western Europe are clearly different and similarities exist between these two marsupiate echinofaunas at the family level only. Indeed, both in Australia and western Europe, the breeding species of echinoids mainly belong to the temnopleurid family, with the austral genus Paradoxechinus, on the one side, the north European genera Temnotrema and Coptechinus, on the other side. Moreover, the arbaciids consist of three marsupiate species of the genus Arbacina in Europe when no breeding species of this family exist in Australia. On the contrary, several breeding irregular echinoids have been found in the Australian Tertiary deposits (Spatangoids and Clypeasteroids) when not any marsupiate irregular echinoid has been discovered at present in the western Europe Neogene deposits.

One of the most unusual results of intensive collecting in southern Manitoba in. 1958 was the discovery of this striking representative of a dominantly coastal genus of Ephydridae. It ivas collected at several times but in only the one locality, the Bald Head Hills, a region of active sand dunes in the largely stabilized, spruce-covered area representing the shores of the Pleistocene Lake Agassiz. The species is strikingly different from other species of the genus in its thoracic and wing pattern, hut in structural characters it is fairly typical.

A new species, Pedicia (Pedicia) savtshenkoi, is described from Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Russia. This species of nominative subgenus Pedicia is discovered for the first time in the Caucasus. A key to males of West Palaearctic species of Pedicia (Pedicia) is presented.

A new species Aquilegia bashahrica and a new nothospecies Aquilegia × emodi from North-western Himalayas, are described and illustrated. In addition A. lactiflora is recorded for India and Pakistan for the first time and Aquilegia kareliniana is excluded from the flora of India. An identification key to the species of Aquilegia from the North-western Himalayas is provided and diagnostic characters are discussed.

The occurrence of Carex phyllostachys (Cyperaceae) in the Croatian flora is documented here for the first time. This rare Euro-Caucasian species was found in June 2019 in deciduous sub-Mediterranean Quercus pubescens-Carpinus orientalis forests on Mosor Mt in central Dalmatia. This record represents the north-western distribution limit of this species. The habitat and ecology of C. phyllostachys in the Croatian flora is here presented, and morphological similarities with allied species (C. distachya and C. illegitima) are discussed. An identification key for Carex species belonging to the subgenus Indocarex in Croatia is provided.

Haroldius lyleae Daniel, Strümpher & Snäll, new species, is described and illustrated from South Africa. The new species can be easily distinguished from other species of the genus by its notable triangular clypeus lacking the distinctive mid-anterior indentation and denticles present in other Haroldius Boucomont, 1914 species. Monomorium albopilosum Emery, 1895 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Myrmicinae) is recorded as a possible ant host of the new species. Haroldius modestus (Janssens, 1953) is recorded from Zimbabwe for the first time, and Haroldius convexus (Philips & Scholtz, 2000) is now recorded from the North West and KwaZulu-Natal Provinces of South Africa as well.

Zooplankton samples from inland water bodies in the north-eastern part of Borneo were collected in rivers, ponds, roadside ditches, irrigation canals, rice fields, and temporary water bodies. The harpacticoid copepods (Harpacticoida) were found only in three surveyed locations. Seven species of four genera from the families Canthocamptidae and Phyllognathopodidae were identified. Four of harpacticoid species found belong to the genus Elaphoidella. A new species, Elaphoidella fatimae sp. nov., is described. It differs from all known species of the genus by combination of the following characters: posterior margins of body somites serrate at dorsal side; anal operculum rounded, with spinules; caudal rami conical; exopod of leg 5 about three times as long as wide. Six species were reported for Borneo for the first time.

The genus Ukamenia Oku, 1981 is recorded the first time for Thailand and a new species, Ukamenia thailandica n. sp., is described. Photograph of living specimens of U. thailandica n. sp. in natural resting posture is present. The one new taxon increases the number of described Ukamenia species to 4.

ABSTRACT The genus Antillorena Jocqué, 1991 is reported in Colombia for the first time and A. sanjacintensis sp. nov. is described for the north of the country. This new species is diagnosed with the type species Antillorena polli (Simon, 1887). A taxonomic key and a map with the distribution of all species of the genus are included.

Hagenia abyssinica J.F. Gmel. (Rosaceae) is an Afromontane endemic, whose range extends from Ethiopia in the north to Zimbabwe and Mozambique in the south. This thick-stemmed but low-growing tree is restricted to East African high mountains, and is one of the dominants of upper montane forests, often making up the timberline. In this paper 17 aphyllophoroid basidiomycetes are reported on Hagenia from Tanzania. Trees which have been partly debarked by elephants are often troubled by Hymenochaete ochromarginata Talbot. A new species, Hyphodontia submucronata Hjortstam & Renvall is described. Dendrothele griseocana (Bres.) Bourdot & Galzin is reported for the first time from Africa.
