In today’s century, women are playing multitasking role and thus have become an important nutshell of global environment which is a necessity for economic development and social progress. In order to achieve equal rights, identity and position in society educated women have to go long way despite all traditional barriers for them in their respective fields. The variation of Social fabric in the Indian society in terms of varied inspirations and increased educational status of women for better living necessitated a change in lifestyle of Indian women. As women they have to face cut-throat competition with man in every prospect, a business is no longer for them indeed balancing both family and work life. The main purpose of this paper is to highlight the status of women entrepreneurs in India and also includes prospects and reasons which uplift them behind the women entrepreneurship. Another main purpose of this paper is to analyze policies of Indian government for women and also schemes adequately for the growth of women entrepreneurship. On the basis of this study, some suggestions are given to motivate and to enhance women to become a successful entrepreneur.

Women Entrepreneurship play an important role in an economic growth. In man oriented society, women want to prove him and created equality and democratic approachand also discusses various programs taken by government for women entrepreneurship development. The role of women entrepreneurs is very crucial nowadays, and they have become important part of the global business environment, it supporting economic development and social progress. In India, due to the lower status of women in the society, still their entrepreneurial ability has not been properly tapped. Entrepreneurship is a promotional strategy to achieve success in every business. The main purpose of this paper is to find out the status of women entrepreneurs in India and rationale grounds behind the women entrepreneurship. On the other hand this paper depicts the policies of Indian Government for women and also to analyze that is those policies adequate for the growth of Women entrepreneurship. On the basis of this study some suggestions are given to encourage spirit ofwomen entrepreneurship to become a successful entrepreneur.

Increased female entrepreneurial activity heralds a progress for women’s rights and optimization of their economic and social living index. Women entrepreneurship is synonymous with women empowerment. Parallel to the male counterparts, female entrepreneurs are catalytic in job creation, innovation and more than tangible contribution to the GNP of the country. An economy thrives when women get a level playing field as men. Innovation works as a catalyst or an instrument for entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is the core of economic development.  It is a multi- dimensional task and essentially creative activity. Entrepreneur is key factor of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship has been a male-dominated phenomenon from the very early age but time has changed the situation and brought women as today's most memorable and inspirational entrepreneurs. The position and status of women in any society is an index of its civilization and progress. Women  are  equally  competent  in  running  business  but  still  lacks  behind  in  spite  of  women empowerment  movement  in  our  country,  there  are  social,  cultural  and  economic  hurdles  in  the way of women entrepreneurship and the major problem is lack of entrepreneurial environment. In spite of having the potential and talent, women are deprived of opportunities, information and education. The  paper  talks  about  the  status  of  women  entrepreneurs  and also  analyze  the  factors  which motivates women to start their own venture and the problems faced by them when they ventured out  to  carve  their  own  niche  in  the  competitive  world  of  business  environment.  An attempt is made to understand the role of government to accelerate the growth of women entrepreneurship.
