The article is focused on capturing process-related dust at industrial enterprises (in chemical, metallurgical and energy industries). An electrocyclone can be recommended for the purification of gases emitted into the atmosphere from particulates, such as sodium percarbonate (efficiency 97.5%–99.9%), iron-vanadium concentrate (98.0% - 99.9%), fly ash (99.0%–99.9%). However, the fumes from copper-smelting furnaces cannot be purified with high efficiency (less than 50–60%) because of their properties. Using electrocyclone will reduce the amount of aerosol emissions, and in some cases, let the emission reach the values set by standards.

Fly ash is a coal-fired waste from the coal-consumed power plant. It has become a great concern as to how fly ash should be treated properly at home. At present, the comprehensive utilization ratio of fly ash is just 30% and utilization ratio of fly ash from coal gangue power plant is less than coal-fired power plant. The effect of different fly ash added to the high-water filling material on the filling result was analyzed and field test of filling in mined-out area was conducted in the Babao vertical shaft + 3211 section of Tonghua coal mining group. The result shows that fly ash of gangue power plant added into the high-water packing material can lower the filling material cost effectively. This research can lead to push forward the utilization of fly ash with high efficiency.

An effective combined process of aeration micro-electrolysis and flocculation was utilized to treat arsenic that incoming contaminate level was 153 mgL-1 from the metallurgical effluent. Treatment mechanisms and operation conditions were discussed which influenced the removal efficiency of arsenic. Under the optimal technological conditions, it was found that the removal efficiencies of COD and As were 92.5% and 99.7% respectively. The remain arsenic concentration in the treated wastewater was only 0.43mgL-1 and met National Wastewater Discharge Standard(GB8978-1996) in China. Analysis by SEM and EDS revealed that using combined process, most of As(III) could be oxidized to As(V), which led to the high efficiency of arsenic removal. In the meantime, most of other heavy metals, such as Cu, Pb and Ni, had been removed. Therefore, the combined process is regarded as a promising technology in the treatment of arsenic from copper smelting effluent. It has bright future in application.
