An experiment was conducted at Mushroom Lab of Horticulture Centre under Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Khairtala, Jessore to determine the performance of different substrates on the yield of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). Sugarcane bagasse, sawdust, and coconut coir individually and their combinations were used as substrates. The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five replications. Data were taken from 1st and 2nd flush of different growth and yield attributes of mushroom. The maximum number of effective fruiting bodies was obtained from sawdust (40) and the lowest number (31.6) from combination of sawdust and coconut coir (1:1). In the 1st flush, the maximum weight of individual fruiting body was observed in coconut coir and minimum in sawdust. The highest biological (186.06 g) and economic yield (180.64 g) were obtained from coconut coir and the lowest from sugarcane bagasse. The maximum and minimum harvest index was found in 1st flush at coconut coir and combination of sawdust and sugarcane bagasse (1:1), respectively. Most yield attributes were found higher in coconut coir. Economic yield was positively correlated to number of effective fruiting bodies, pileus diameter, and biological yield. Data of the commercial parameters of Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus djamor were analyzed using the data mining technique: K-means clustering algorithm. The parameters evaluated were: biological efficiency, crop yield ratio, productivity rate, nutritional composition, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities in the production of fruit bodies of 50 strains of Pleurotus ostreatus and 50 strains of Pleurotus djamor, cultivated on the most representative agricultural wastes from the province of Guayas: 80% sugarcane bagasse and 20% wheat straw (M1), and 60% wheat straw and 40% sugarcane bagasse (M2). The database of the parameters obtained in experimental procedures was grouped into three clusters, providing a visualization of the strains with a higher relation to each parameter (vector) measured.

The enzyme biosynthesis using agricultural wastes by solid state fermentation (SSF) and the study of their physicochemical properties are meaningful approaches to improve the biomass hydrolysis. Among them, β-glucosidases and β-xylosidases are key enzymes at the lignocellulose depolymerization, which act in the cleavage of oligosaccharides in monosaccharides. In this study, the production of hemicellulases and cellulases by Pleurotus ostreatus and Aspergillus niger monocultures or in consortium was investigated, using raw sugarcane bagasse (SB) and wheat bran (WB) as substrates. The highest enzymatic activities were observed in the crude extract produced by P. ostreatus PLO6 and A. niger SCBM4 consortium with 98.5, 62.9, 3.8, 12.4, 13.3 and 20.2 U/g for β-glucosidase (β-glu), β-xylosidase (Bxyl), filter paper cellulase (FPase), xylanase (Xyl), exoglucanase (Exgl) and endoglucanase (Engl), respectively. The pH and temperature effects on β-glu and β-xyl were characterized. Optimal activities were obtained at pH 4.0 and 45 °C for β-glu and 3.5 and 55 °C for β-xyl. Both enzymes were stable at acid pH and presented thermostability. The results indicated that the enzymatic cocktail demonstrated potential characteristics for future applications in saccharifications. The use of sugarcane bagasse and wheat bran for microbial growth contributed to aggregate value to these byproducts.

Проанализированы данные литературы, характеризующие пищевые, лечебные и экологические свойства гриба Рleurotus ostreatus (вешенка обыкновенная). Вешенка – полноценный продукт питания, обеспечивающий потребность организма человека в белках, углеводах, жирах, витаминах и минеральных солях. В белках плодовых тел вешенки содержится 18 аминокислот, восемь из которых незаменимые (изолейцин, лейцин, лизин, метионин, фенилаланин, триптофан, треонин, валин). Лечебная ценность грибов характеризуется содержанием водорастворимых (тиамин В1, рибофлавин В2, ниацин В5, РР, пиридоксин В6, биотин В7, аскорбиновая и пантотеновая кислота) и жирорастворимых (кальциферол, эргостерол, токоферол) витаминов. Отмечена возможность значительного повышения эффективности использования отходов сельского хозяйства за счет получения плодовых тел, а также последующего применения субстрата после плодоношения в растениеводстве и животноводстве.
