The article considers the peculiarities of using energy complexes as part of the WPP-PSPP. It is noted that the most relevant and promising will be the use of such energy complexes in environmentally unfavorable regions that are not among the priorities for the development of wind energy. However, the energy complexes as part of the WPP-PSPP are not currently widespread, one of the reasons is the lack of methods for calculating the optimal parameters of the energy complexes, which should include calculations to determine the volume of the storage reservoir of the energy complex. As a result of solving problems using the analysis of methods of economic effi ciency, methods of ecological justifi cation for autonomous power supply systems, a methodology was developed to determine the optimal volume of the storage reservoir for the energy complex as part of the WPP-PSPP, the main provisions of which are described in this article. The presented methodology allows you to choose the most rational location and shape of the accumulating reservoir on the ground, to fi t the outline of the reservoir into natural conditions, as well as to optimize the ratio of its depth of work and cross-sectional area.

On the basis of the system approach, the analysis of the basic technologies of the intelligent electric power system that provide adaptive management of the electric network is carried out. The expediency of their application for adaptive power quality management in electric networks with traction load by expanding the functions is shown. The variants of their configuration are proposed to improve the quality of electricity and ensure optimal parameters of electricity quality indicators.

Diff erent power supply systems with hydraulic, electric and mechanical drive are used in sprinklers for watering crops of the same type. Depending on the agrotechnical operating conditions of sprinklers, the systems diff er from each other in terms of energy and operating costs in 1.5…4.2 times. The paper considers a problem of choosing the optimal power supply system for a sprinkler unit working under specifi c conditions. The author has examined power supply systems for sprinklers: a hydraulic drive with a rotating hydraulic motor; a hydraulic drive with a reciprocating hydraulic motor; a mechanical drive; an electric drive powered by a cable line, an overhead line, a portable generator or accumulator batteries, which are all characterized by an individual resulting quality indicator. This indicator can be represented by any parameter of the system. Applying the theory of vector synthesis, he has chosen the effi ciency criterion as an indicator that takes into account the system parameters: specifi c power, energy losses, reliability indicator, operating costs, cost and mass of the system elements; as well as agrotechnical conditions: inlet pressure, distance from the water reservoir and centralized energy supply system, investments in sprinklers, irrigation rate, irrigation area and irrigation profi t. According to the effi ciency criterion, a graphical solution to the problem has been presented and it has been established that systems with an electric drive and various power sources are feasible for areas of more than 40 hectares, those with a hydraulic drive – for an irrigated area of less than 40 hectares, and those with a mechanical drive – less than 6 hectares.

Larval Tenebrio molitor L. (Insecta) were reared in three different levels of oxygen: 21 % (normal), 15 % and 10.5 %, all at 101.3 kPa (=1 atm) total pressure (remainder nitrogen). Some larvae were transferred from one oxygen level to another during development. The main tracheae (branching off from the spiracular tracheae) were of greater cross-sectional area in lower ambient oxygen. Compared to larvae of the same body mass reared in 21 % oxygen, larvae reared in 15 % oxygen had main tracheae 40% larger in cross-sectional area on average, and larvae in 10.5% oxygen had main tracheae 120% larger. This hypertrophy is not consistent with the widely accepted hypothesis that tracheae contribute an insignificant resistance to the net movement of oxygen in insect tracheal systems. The magnitude of the hypertrophy is consistent with predictions from Fick's law of diffusion and with the hypothesis that diffusion is the primary mechanism for oxygen movement in the larval tracheal system of holometabolous insects.

SummaryDuring a triple pelvic osteotomy, rotation of the free acetabular segment causes the pubic remnant on the acetabulum to rotate into the pelvic canal. The resulting narrowing may cause complications by impingement on the organs within the pelvic canal. Triple pelvic osteotomies were performed on ten cadaver pelves with pubic remnants equal to 0, 25, and 50% of the hemi-pubic length and angles of acetabular rotation of 20, 30, and 40 degrees. All combinations of pubic remnant lengths and angles of acetabular rotation caused a significant reduction in pelvic canal-width and cross-sectional area, when compared to the inact pelvis. Zero, 25, and 50% pubic remnants result in 15, 35, and 50% reductions in pelvic canal width respectively. Overrotation of the acetabulum should be avoided and the pubic remnant on the acetabular segment should be minimized to reduce postoperative complications due to pelvic canal narrowing. When performing triple pelvic osteotomies, the length of the pubic remnant on the acetabular segment and the angle of acetabular rotation both significantly narrow the pelvic canal. To reduce post-operative complications, due to narrowing of the pelvic canal, overrotation of the acetabulum should be avoided and the length of the pubic remnant should be minimized.
