The article provides a detailed analysis of professional communication between Russia and the People's Republic of China in the field of education. Noting the long historical relationships between the two countries, the author notes that Russia and China have a rather long relationship in the field of educational communications, starting in 1862, when a teacher from Russia was first invited to teach the Russian language at the Beijing School. Interaction and professional communication is also explained by the fact that in China the model of Soviet education was once borrowed, but adapted to Chinese realities. The author presents the priority areas of cooperation between the two states in the new millennium, due to the intergovernmental "Treaty on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation" (2005). The author attaches a special role to the creation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (hereinafter - SCO) of the SCO University (USHOS), which has been operating since 2009 and includes more than 80 universities from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, etc. This fact is the largest initiative in the world. In conclusion, the author also noted problematic areas of professional communication between China and Russia, among which is an insufficiently developed legal framework for educational cooperation and joint training of professional personnel in the framework of language training.

The article covers a poorly studied topic about the sources of museum science study. The authors of the article rely on the prominent Russian researcher S.O. Schmidt’ opinion that the elaboration of source study is a guarantor of the accuracy of historical knowledge. They used Schmidt's scientific classification of sources and applied it to identifying and systematizing the sources of study of Liaoning Paleontological Museum in China. The article deals with such typological groups of sources as written, material, visual and electronic sources. The group of written sources includes legislative acts and documents of office-work. Such important act documents as the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics contain the information on museum work and protection of cultural values. Orders and resolutions of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, and the National Administration of Cultural Heritage Regulations include this information as well. The administrative documents of the leadership of Shenyang Pedagogical University, in which the Liaoning Paleontological Museum was opened in 2011, have no small importance too. The Charter of the Academic Committee of the Liaoning Paleontological Museum has direct relation to the creation and activities of the museum at Shenyang University. Documents of officework were deposited in the archival funds of the Liaoning Museum. They include planning materials, and reports on the activities of the museum departments. The reports on the search and conservation of fossils, on work with museum visitors, on cooperation between the museum and schools in Liaoning Province contain an important information about Liaoning Museum. The article characterizes a group of material sources that play a major role in the formation of the source base for Liaoning Museum study. These are paleontological fossils – samples of flora and fauna of antiquity. The museum contains 30158 paleontological fossils. The author reported that 707 fossils are of unique scientific value and are authentic sources of study of the museum. Visual sources include photographs, restoration drawings and sculptures made of resin of fossil samples. These historical monuments are used in the museum exposition; contain important information about the activities of the museum. Electronic sources and multimedia resources are created in order to popularize scientific knowledge about the ancient world of China, they are used in working with visitors, contain important information about the museum and its collections. The identified and characterized sources have a high degree of reliability, they are distinguished by information saturation. They provide a solid documentary base for the study of the Liaoning Paleontological Museum.

The government of the People’s Republic of China is constructing a national trunk highway system, a 35,000-km network of interprovincial expressways, during 1991–2010. As part of this network, a priority 1,867-km Beijing–Tongjiang route in northeastern China has recently been completed, costing about 37 billion yuan. As a result, developmental impacts are beginning to emerge. An evaluation is presented of the impact of the new Beijing–Tongjiang route on transport services, economic activities, social services, and environmental and social issues. Changes in economic and social indicators were quantified by comparing ( a) before-and-after project conditions, ( b) the project area and a control area, and ( c) the project area situation and national or provincial trends. Recognizing the difficulty in isolating the expressway impact from other factors, the study concluded that the new route is associated with local economic development because of improved accessibility. Travel time has been reduced from 35 to 17 h for cars. Industrial plants have been built along the expressway, and tourism has developed along it. Some feeder roads upgraded along with expressway construction now serve 3.3 million rural residents in Liaoning Province.

The caddisfly fauna of Liaoning Province, in northeastern China, is one of the least known Trichoptera faunas in the People’s Republic of China, with only 21 species (and 1 subspecies) of the 1253 Chinese species reported previously from this Province. A recent collection from Mt. Laopingding, Fencheng City, included 13 species, at least 9 of which are new species records for the Province, 3 are new species records for Palearctic China, and 2 others are new records for China. The species belong to 7 genera and 5 families which were not previously known from Liaoning. Variations in the male genitalia of Hydropsyche orientalis Martynov, 1934 and H. simulans Mosely, 1942 are discussed.

Introduction. The relevance of this study is determined by the gradual expansion of contacts between the PRC and the Russian Federation in the educational sphere and the need to improve the national education systems. The purpose of the article is to identify methodological problems in organizing Sino-Russian educational programs for training engineers for the People’s Republic of China and to propose the optimal solution to these problems. Materials and Methods. In considering the problems of organization of the educational process for joint Sino-Russian educational programs, we use empirical methods: description, content analysis, comparison and synthesis. A survey of teaching staff and students was conducted. Students and teachers, who took part in the joint program of Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University and Xuzhou University of Technology were selected to be interviewed. The survey also involved teaching staff and students of Jiangsu Pedagogical University. Results. We will suggest recommendations for the development of joint programs, the purpose of which is to prepare highly qualified engineers for the People’s Republic of China. These recommendations will improve the educational process, the quality of the professional training of Chinese students, enhance their level of proficiency in the Russian language. Our results suggest that to improve the quality of training of Chinese engineers who receive two diplomas, it is necessary to take into account the motives of Chinese students, their cognitive style of learning, the used learning strategies and the national characteristics of the Chinese education system. Discussion and Conclusion. The results of this study may be useful to educators involved in collaboration activities between educational institutions of different countries. Following the proposed recommendations, we expect teachers in special subjects to easily write textbooks, including digital ones that suit the topical students’ needs and enable teaching staff efficiency.
