With the emergence and use of a large number of new power electronic equipment, the power supply department has begun to pay extensive attention to the problem of power quality, and the majority of users have put forward higher requirements for the quality of power supply. This paper studies the classification and identification method of power quality disturbances based on random forest model. In this paper, according to IEEE power quality standard, the normal waveform and 16 common power quality disturbance waveforms are mathematically modeled, and the power quality disturbance signal is analyzed by S-transform. In this paper, the power quality disturbance identification algorithm based on random forest is optimized. Experimental data show that the optimized method has higher disturbance recognition accuracy and better anti noise ability. Therefore, using the power quality disturbance identification method proposed in this paper to monitor the power quality of power grid is of great significance to ensure the safe and stable operation of power grid and improve economic benefits.

Microgrid reconfiguration plays important role in improving continuity of power supply especially in the event of fault within the power grid or microgrid connected to the medium voltage distribution network. Due to the fault in power grid, intentional islanding through static switch is one possible solution while, fault within the microgrid emphasizes microgrid reconfiguration to recover maximum affected loads in each isolated zone. This paper presents multiagent system based (MAS) approach in order to withstand stably and autonomously in the event of fault within microgrid or power grid. MAS approach includes negotiation agent (NA) for the entire microgrid and bus agent (BA) for each bus within each zone. NA is responsible for selecting a Dominant-BA from each zone and prioritizing the zones by using region weight coefficient (RWC) method. Zone having excessive power will recombine with the zone having lesser power for maintaining power quality of sensitive and less sensitive loads, while normal loads are shed.

Wind energy system is lately receiving a lot of attention, because they are cost inexpensive, environmental safe and clean renewable energy source, as compared with nuclear and fossil fuel power generation. The operational characteristics of wind electric turbines has considerable dissatisfaction and stress on the quality of electric power system. Harmonics, variations of voltage and reactive power are most of power quality issues for grid connected with wind turbine. This paper introduces a design and simulation of unified power quality conditioner using a fuzzy controller to improve the power quality for Egyptian power grid connected to Zafarana Egypt wind system. The proposed performance of the unified power quality conditioner system is verified by simulating the model using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results showed that the proposed unified power quality conditioner provide efficient cancellation of both load current  harmonics  and supply voltage sag in addition to compensation of reactive power, and thus making the electrical grid connected wind energy system more efficient by improving the quality of power.

The rapidly increasing usage of high-powered devices and the high specification in personal and industrial/medical devices has led to a greater demand for a SMPS for high-powered devices. A stable and reliable power source for such devices and research on power quality monitoring systems are needed. To these ends, this paper introduces a SMPS monitoring system based on ZigBee communication. The SMPS monitoring system uses ZigBee to collect the voltage, current, and temperature data from SPMS in real time. The collected data are visually synchronized and the current power supply status is displayed to the operator. In addition, to prevent any decline in the quality of the power, the system gives feedback via smartphone to the operator if errors are detected.

Recognition and arrangement of current-voltage, power fluctuations are critical functions for the safety of the power system (PS). Many perturbations of power quality (PQ) are unpredictable and ephemeral, and the demand for voltage and current recognition and arrangement is confirmed. By using Fast Fourier transform, expert systems, and neural networks, certain intelligent system technologies dominate fault analysis. As expected, there are five types of issues that include sag and swell, ripple, transient fluctuation, interruption and natural waveform. In this paper, we study the transmission line faults for voltage drop, voltage swell, and transient voltage. Power supply and traffic transmission leakage have been major problems for electricity providers and consumers. Much of the disturbance is non-stationary and intermittent, needing specialized methods and techniques for PQ disturbance research. This article provides a full collection of MATLAB / Simulink models to simulate different energy efficiency disturbances. This paper implements power quality disturbance in the model Matlab/ Simulink. The model provided can be used to simulate various disturbances of energy quality and waveforms for analysis and research into power quality, and to help to develop educational programs and understand the energy quality. This would concentrate on what are PQ problems and current approaches to evaluate and classify such problems.
