Abstract The identification of key nodes plays an important role in improving the robustness of the transportation network. For different types of transportation networks, the effect of the same identification method may be different. It is of practical significance to study the key nodes identification methods corresponding to various types of transportation networks. Based on the knowledge of complex networks, the metro networks and the bus networks are selected as the objects, and the key nodes are identified by the node degree identification method, the neighbor node degree identification method, the weighted k-shell degree neighborhood identification method (KSD), the degree k-shell identification method (DKS), and the degree k-shell neighborhood identification method (DKSN). Take the network efficiency and the largest connected subgraph as the effective indicators. The results show that the KSD identification method that comprehensively considers the elements has the best recognition effect and has certain practical significance.

Abstract To accurately capture the behaviors of cavitation and reveal the unsteady cavitating flow mechanism, a condensate pump inducer is numerically analyzed in a separate numerical experiment with LES at critical cavitation number sind,c under the design point. Based on the new Omega vortex identification method, the correction between the flow structures and cavities is clearly illustrated. Besides, the pressure fluctuations around the inducer are analyzed. Special emphasis is put on the analysis of the interactions between the cavities, turbulent fluctuations, and vortical flow structures. The Omega vortex identification method could give an overall picture of the whole cavitating flow structures to present a clear correlation between the vortices and cavities. The results show that the shear cavitation dominant the cavitation characteristics under the design point. The pure rigid rotation region mainly concentrates at the edge of the cavities while the other sheet-like cavities near the casing walls are characterized by strong turbulence fluctuations. Besides, based on the analysis of the correlation between the cavities and flow structures, the rotating cavitation under the design point may mainly attribute to the interaction between the tip leakage vortex cavitation and the next blade.

Abstract Background Plant variety identification is the one most important of agricultural systems. Development of DNA marker profiles of released varieties to compare with candidate variety or future variety is required. However, strictly speaking, scientists did not use most existing variety identification techniques for “identification” but for “distinction of a limited number of cultivars,” of which generalization ability always not be well estimated. Because many varieties have similar genetic backgrounds, even some essentially derived varieties (EDVs) are involved, which brings difficulties for identification and breeding progress. A fast, accurate variety identification method, which also has good performance on EDV determination, needs to be developed. Results In this study, with the strategy of “Divide and Conquer,” a variety identification method Conditional Random Selection (CRS) method based on SNP of the whole genome of 3024 rice varieties was developed and be applied in essentially derived variety (EDV) identification of rice. CRS is a fast, efficient, and automated variety identification method. Meanwhile, in practical, with the optimal threshold of identity score searched in this study, the set of SNP (including 390 SNPs) showed optimal performance on EDV and non-EDV identification in two independent testing datasets. Conclusion This approach first selected a minimal set of SNPs to discriminate non-EDVs in the 3000 Rice Genome Project, then united several simplified SNP sets to improve its generalization ability for EDV and non-EDV identification in testing datasets. The results suggested that the CRS method outperformed traditional feature selection methods. Furthermore, it provides a new way to screen out core SNP loci from the whole genome for DNA fingerprinting of crop varieties and be useful for crop breeding.

The eLoran system is an international standardized positioning, navigation, and timing service system, which can complement global navigation satellite systems to cope with navigation and timing warfare. The eLoran receiver measures time-of-arrival (TOA) through cycle identification, which is key in determining timing and positioning accuracy. However, noise and skywave interference can cause cycle identification errors, resulting in TOA-measurement errors that are integral multiples of 10 μs. Therefore, this article proposes a cycle identification method in the joint time–frequency domain. Based on the spectrum-division method to determine the cycle identification range, the time–domain peak-to-peak ratio and waveform matching are used for accurate cycle identification. The performance of the method is analyzed via simulation. When the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) ≥ 0 dB and skywave-to-groundwave ratio (SGR) ≤ 23 dB, the success rate of cycle identification is 100%; when SNR ≥ −13 dB and SGR ≤ 23 dB, the success rate exceeds 75%. To verify its practicability, the method was implemented in the eLoran receiver and tested at three test sites within 1000 km using actual signals emitted by an eLoran system. The results show that the method has a high identification probability and can be used in modern eLoran receivers to improve TOA-measurement accuracy.
