This report describes a case of an 11 years old girl presenting a supernumerary tooth between lower central incisors. The case initially required only surgical treatment to remove the lower mesiodens. Sequentially, the patient was referred to an orthodontic therapy due to a presence of diastema.

AbstractThe main aim of this case report is to thoroughly describe the steps of diagnosis and treatment in the rare incidence of patellar tendon gouty tophus. The case of a 53-year-old man manual worker who was treated with open excision of the lesion, following failure of extended medical treatment with rheumatological input, is presented. Surgical treatment led to full restoration of the patient's knee function. Open or arthroscopic surgery is a viable option for the unusual case of intratendinous patellar gouty deposition if the patient fails medical management. Medical treatment should still be the mainstay.

ABSTRACT Supernumerary tooth is one that is additional to the normal series and can be found in almost any region of the dental arch. Mesiodens is the most common type of supernumerary tooth found in the premaxilla between two central incisors. Talon cusp is a supernumerary structure projecting from the dento-enamel junction to a variable distance towards the incisal edge of an anterior tooth and mostly on the palatal aspect. Only few have been reported on the facial aspect of the teeth. Here we present a case of a ten year old male child with supplemental mesiodens associated with facial talons cusp.

We describe a case of a lingual thyroglossal duct cyst diagnosed prenatally by ultrasound at 26 weeks of gestation. The follow-up ultrasound scans revealed no changes in the cyst measurement. Surgical treatment was performed without any complication 72 hours after delivery with good results.

We report an unusual case of a 65-year-old lady with CREST syndrome with multiple upper and lower limb calcinosis, who presented with severe shoulder pain and stiffness, with widespread intra- and extra-articular calcinosis, which was refractory to conservative measures. We were able to identify the main cause of her symptoms through serial diagnostic injections as calcific biceps tendinosis. We will discuss her assessment and surgical management and the pathophysiology and various treatment modalities for managing the soft tissue calcinosis in rheumatological diseases.

Although the prevalence of tuberculosis reduces, it still belongs to the most important infectious diseases worldwide even in industrial countries. We report an unusual case of tuberculous coxitis in a 28-year-old healthy native female with recurrent hip pain. While X-ray and microbiological examination of the aspirate showed no abnormality, only extended diagnostic measurements and detailed history led to the diagnosis of TBC. Although the patient did not show any pulmonary symptoms open tuberculosis was confirmed. After a course of antibiotic treatment she underwent reconstructive surgery which consecutively improved range of motion. This case report emphasizes that tuberculosis should still be considered as a significant disease even in healthy patients with uncertain complaints in joints without significant initial radiographic abnormalities. We recommend the described diagnostic procedures as well as an antibiotic and surgical treatment.

ABSTRACT Dentigerous cyst is the most frequent developmental odontogenic cysts. It forms in relation to unerupted teeth, decidous teeth or supernumerary tooth as seen in our case. It is common in younger individuals in lower jaw involving mostly the third molar region. Here, we report a case of 25 years old female with a large dentigerous cyst of right maxilla who presented with complete unilateral nasal obstruction. Radiologically, a supernumerary tooth was seen located superiorly in the medial wall of the maxillary antrum. The cyst was surgically removed through a gingivobuccal sulcus incision. Although, Weber Fergusson incision is generally required for removal of large cysts, sublabial or Caldwell-Luc approach is equally useful for large cyst removal and is also more cosmetically acceptable. We present the case of a 36-year-old man who presented with left-sided nasal obstruction and facial pain. Clinical examination and computed tomography revealed an inverted midline supernumerary tooth buckling and deviating the nasal septum to the left. Full surgical resection of the tooth was achieved through a minimally invasive endoscopic septoplasty with full resolution of symptoms. There is little precedent within the literature to guide our management in this case and therefore we offer a successful surgical treatment strategy.

ABSTRACT The odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) is a cystic lesion of odontogenic origin that demonstrates the behavioral characteristics of a benign neoplasm and has a propensity to recur after surgical treatment. This is a case report a 45-year-old male presented with a solitary swelling in the submandibular region, which was clinically diagnosed as dentigerous cyst. The microscopic examination revealed the presence of odontogenic keratocyst.
