Abstrak. Kelapa sawit adalah komoditas pertanian yang populer saat ini. Indonesia sebagai negara pengekspor minyak sawit terbesar di dunia dengan Malaysia. Kondisi daerah yang relatief datar menjadikan Kecamatan Langsa Lama sebagai tempat yang cocok untuk perkebunan kelapa sawit. Kajian perubahan penggunaan lahan berkembang sangat cepat dan menghasilkan banyak pendekatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung laju perubahan luas lahan kelapa sawit dari tahun 2012- 2016 di Kecamatan Langsa Lama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada lah metode deskriptif dengan teknik survai. Sedangkan analisis perubahan gunakan rumus/formula untuk menghitung laju perubahan kelapa sawit.  Hasil  perhitungan  analisis  di  dapat  bahwasannya  perubahan penggunaan  lahan  kelapa sawit di Kecamatan Langsa Lama 2012-2016 sebesar 81 Hektar.Analysis Of Changes In Palm Oil Land Use From 2012 to 2016 In Langsa Lama District Abstract. Palm oil is a popular agricultural commodity today. Indonesia is the largest palm oil exporter in the world with Malaysia. Regional conditions that are relatively flat make Langsa Lama District a suitable place for oil palm plantations. The study of land use change developed very quickly and produced many approaches. This study aims to calculate the rate of change in the area of oil palm from 2012-2016 in the District of Langsa Lama. The method used in this study is descriptive method with survey technique. While the change analysis uses a formula / formula to calculate the rate of change of oil palm. The results of the calculation of the analysis can be explained that changes in the use of oil palm in the District of Langsa Lama 2012-2016 amounted to 81 hectares.

Kabupaten Sleman memiliki banyak daya tarik yang memicu terjadinya urbanisasi yang dapat terlihat dari fenomeno perubahan penggunaan lahan . Perubahan penggunaan lahan di Kabupaten Sleman terjadi pada kawasan keamanan dan ketahanan pangan yang terdiri dari Kecamatan Moyudan, Minggir, Sayegan, Godean, Mlati, dan Tempel.  Fenomena perubahan penggunaan lahan penting untuk dikontrol dan dikendalikan karena kawasan tersebut memiliki peran penting bagi ketahanan pangan di Kabupaten Sleman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Di dalam metode deskriptif terdapat metode survey yang digunakaan untuk mengetahui kondisi eksisting penggunaan lahan di daerah penelitian. Sedangkan untuk perubahan penggunaan lahan pada kawasan keamanan dan ketahanan pangan di Kabupaten Sleman dari Tahun 2012 sampai Tahun 2018 diperoleh dengan metode overlay peta penggunaan lahan yang diperoleh dari Citra Quickbird pada tahun tersebut. Perubahan penggunaan lahan pada kawasan keamanan dan ketahanan pangan Kabupaten Sleman mencapai 57,33 km2 atau 33,93% dari luas total daerah penelitian. Perubahan penggunaan lahan didominasi oleh perubahan lahan sawah menjadi hutan produksi seluas 15,05 km2. Faktor pendorong adanya perubahan penggunaan lahan tersebut adalah produktivitas pertanian sawah yang semakin menurun tiap tahunnya.Sleman Regency has many attractions that trigger urbanization which can be seen from the phenomenon of land-use change. This phenomenon occurs in Sleman Regency particularly in the area of food security and sustainability which is spreading in various districts such as Moyudan, Minggir, Sayegan, Godean, Mlati, and Tempel. The phenomenon of land change must be managed and controlled because the areas have an important role for food security in Sleman Regency. The method used for the research is descriptive method. Survey is a part of descriptive method which used to determine the existing conditions of land use in the research object areas. Whereas for land-use changes in the area of food security and sustainability in Sleman Regency from 2012 to 2018 was obtained with the method of land-use map overlay obtained from Quickbird imagery in those years.Land-use change in the area of food security and sustainability of  Sleman Regency reaches 57.33 km2 or 33.93% from the total of research study area. Land-use change is dominated by the diversions of rice fields to forests that reach 15.05 km2. The driving factor for this phenomenon is the decreasing annual productivity of rice field.

The evaluation of the impacts of land-use change on the water resources has been, many times, limited by the knowledge of past land use conditions. Most publications on this field present only a vague description of the past land use, which is usually insufficient for more comprehensive studies. This study presents the first reconstruction of the historical land use patterns in Amazonia, that includes both croplands and pasturelands, for the period 1940-1995. During this period, Amazonia experienced the fastest rates of land use change in the world, growing 4-fold from 193,269 km2 in 1940 to 724,899 km2 in 1995. This reconstruction is based on a merging of satellite imagery and census data, and provides a 5'x5' yearly dataset of land use in three different categories (cropland, natural pastureland and planted pastureland) for Amazonia. This dataset will be an important step towards understanding the impacts of changes in land use on the water resources in Amazonia.

Though on a global scale, for ecological reasons, increased forest cover is universally regarded as positive, on a local scale, the reforestation of arable land may pose threats to cultural landscapes by removing characteristic landscape features. Particularly vulnerable are marginal rural areas, e.g., mountain regions, where most traditional land use systems have survived and which are subject to the most spectacular land use change. The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the issue of the management of forest cover in historical cultural landscapes in mountain territories in Poland within the context of widespread land use change in Eastern Europe. Land cover data were obtained from historical and contemporary aerial photographs, as well as topographic maps from five time points between 1824 and 2016. The study was conducted by means of spatio-temporal forest cover trajectory analysis (LCTA), transition and time–depth analysis, and land cover change calculations that were made by means of ArcGIS. Our research indicates that the rate of change has risen considerably in the last two decades, and the current share of forest cover is much bigger than that reflected in the official data. Eight principal forest cover trajectory types were identified. The biggest area is occupied by woodland of long-term stability. Another large group is constituted by forests created on the basis of arable land and grassland as a result of simple conversion at one point in time, mainly in the years 1824–1886 and 1939–1994. At the same time, a sizeable group is made up by areas that have been subject to unplanned cyclical or dynamic changes during various periods. A very important group is comprised new forests that were created in 1994–2016, predominantly as a result of natural succession, that are often not included in official land classifications. The constant expansion of woodlands has led to a shrinking of historical former coppice woodlands. This indicates that the current landscape management mechanisms in Poland are inadequate for protecting the cultural landscape. The barriers include the lack of intersectoral cooperation and the overlooking of the historical context of landscapes. The present situation calls not only for verification of the existing forest policy but also for increasing the role and engagement of local communities, as well as making comprehensive local development plans, all of which may be helped by the findings of our study and of similar research.
