Abstract During the last two decades of intensive botanical survey of the tropical dry evergreen forest, a total of 82 endemic taxa were found out of 1142 species enumerated from 85 sites in the three Coromandel Coastal districts of the state Tamil Nadu: Cuddalore, Kancheepurm and Villupuram, and in the Pondicherry district. Of 82 species, 17 are trees, 11 shrubs, 9 climbers and 45 herbs. Distribution of these endemic species was analyzed and categorised as endemic to the country, peninsular India, southern India, Eastern and Western Ghats, and at the state and district level. Interestingly, the study found that some endemic species were disjunctly distributed between districts, states, ghats, climatic regimes and bioregions. Anthropogenic disturbance and species threat status were also studied and discussed.

Both known Neotropical species of Nervijuncta – N. conjuncta (Freeman) and N. laffooni Lane – are redescribed and the male terminalia illustrated in detail. Specimens of N. laffooni, previously known only from the type-locality (São Paulo, Brazil), are reported from Nova Teutônia, and Urubici, both in the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The females of both Neotropical species of the genus are described in detail and the genitalia illustrated for the first time. These redescriptions provide further information on the position of these two species within the genus.

Abstract. Here, by the first time, was quantified the predation of seeds of Protium ovatum Engl. (Burseraceae) by Bracon zuleideae Perioto & Lara (Hymenoptera, Braconidae), a phytophagous seed eater, in Parque Nacional Grande Sertão Veredas, located in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. B. zuleideae is now mentioned for the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, which extends its geographical distribution about 900 km north of its type locality, its only previous record, and new data about host plant phenology are provided.

Cordia diffusa K.C. Jacob, belonging to Boraginaceae, discovered in 1938 and named by K.C. Jacob in 1944, is a little-known and the only narrow endemic but neglected plant of Coimbatore City.  The lectotype of the steno-endemic is determined and the current status, distribution, potential threats, bioprospecting potential, and suggestions for conservation of the species are discussed.  The collection of steno-endemic plant during intensive exploration in its type locality nearly after 90 years is of phytogeographic and conservation significance.  The endemic is proposed the category of Critically Endangered (CR) based on criterion D of IUCN (as per versions 3.1 & 13).  C. diffusa can be protected by promoting awareness of the rarity of native species and mass propagation through vegetative means so as to introduce it in gardens, parks, and avenues, etc. at once in the city.

Tetragonula gressitti (Sakagami, 1978), currently known from southern Vietnam, is here reported for the first time from dense forests in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India. This new record is about 2000 km northwest of the type locality of T. gressitti in Vietnam and increases to seven the number of stingless bees known in India. Taxonomic comments on T. gressitti are also provided.

An updated checklist of Cockroaches (Blattodea) of 181 species belonging to 72 genera under 17 subfamilies and 6 families, including 89 endemic species from India have been provided. The study on the diversity of cockroaches globally shows that many species are yet to be discovered, since only 3.8% of the global species are known to India. The states with high number of records are Tamil Nadu (55 spp.), West Bengal (37 spp.), Arunachal Pradesh (25 spp.), Meghalaya & Sikkim (24 spp.) respectively. The dominant families are Blaberidae (83 spp.), Ectobiidae (53 spp.), Blattidae (24 spp.), Corydiidae (17 spp.), Nocticolidae (3 spp.) and Tryonicidae (1 spp.). The state-wise distribution records along with references, synonyms have also been incorporated.

In this contribution, we describe Isoperla vjosae sp. nov. from Albania. We characterize males, females, and larvae of the new species collected at the Vjosa River using morphological and molecular approaches. Isoperla vjosae sp.nov. is a member of the I. tripartita group, which is widely distributed in the Balkans. This new endemic species is being threatened by a proposed hydroelectric power dam on the Vjosa River impacting the type locality – a large, shifting gravel, low altitude River – an atypical habitat for larvae of the I. tripartita group. For the first time we use molecular tools to delineate Isoperla species from the Balkans.
