Congenital laryngeal cyst is a rare occurrence. It is an important but rare cause of neonatal stridor and should be kept as a provisional diagnosis after ruling out laryngomalacia. The case study tells us the importance of doing a laryngoscopic examination in every neonate presenting with stridor. The patient in our study underwent endoscopic marsupialization of the cyst which happens to be the treatment of choice in case of a laryngeal cyst.

Apoplexy of the Pituitary gland is rarely seen critical disorder marked by acute throbbing of head / altered mental status / visual disturbances /decreased consciousness, due to sudden haemorrhagic changes of the pituitary or infarction of the same. There are numerous factors which precipitate apoplexy of the pituitary, sepsis being one of the least common cause, as is elaborated in this case study. Inspite of having a distinctive presentation, pituitary apoplexy eludes diagnosis and proper management as it is complicated by related co-morbidities. Its occurrence in a postpartum lady is an even rarer incident. This article shows a rare occurrence of apoplexy of macroadenoma in a postpartum woman which was managed conservatively.

The udder is a very important organ and has economic value in dairy cattle. Though highly vulnerable to various disease conditions, e.g. mastitis, congenital anomalies in the udder are of rare occurrence (Dandale et al., 2013). Congenital abnormalities of the mammary system in cows comprise absence of teats, glands, supernumerary teats and imperforate teats. Absence of teat is extremely rare, but isolated cases in which the teats were only represented by slight eminences have been met with (O’ Connor, 1980). Athelia was reported in buffaloes by Sailendra and Sandhya (1998) and Vidyasagar (2009) and in a Japanese black heifer by Ghanem et al. (2011). In the present paper, a rare case of athelia in a Jersey crossbred cow and its therapeutic management by permanent cessation of lactation is reported.

ABSTRACT Thyroglossal cyst is a congenital condition of the neck where the painless swelling is found in the midline of the neck in between the foramen cecum of tongue base and sternal notch. Condition is common in children. Thyroglossal fistula is either secondary to infection or drainage of a misdiagnosed abscess. Here we are presenting a case of thyroglossal fistula with its opening over the chest and a cord extending from the hyoid bone to the chest causing restriction of the neck movement. Thyroglossal fistula opening in the chest, i.e. over the sternum is very rare and not been reported in any literatures. Treatment of this type of thyroglossal fistula is same as other types, i.e. Sistrunk's operation, where tract along with part of the hyoid bone is to be removed to prevent recurrence. We are reporting this case for its rare occurrence. How to cite this article Rout MR, Mohanty D, Bobba K, Meta C, Karri S. Presternal Thyroglossal Fistula: A Rare Case Report. Introduction: Osteoma is a benign slow-growing osteogenic neoplasm characterized by the proliferation of cancellous and/or cortical bone. Jaw bones are seldom affected. Observation: We observed a rare case of a patient with a peripheral mandibular osteoma, which was surgically removed. Comments: Frequently asymptomatic, a peripheral osteoma looks like a bony swelling that may be sessile or pedunculated. Imaging examinations show a well-circumscribed radio-opaque mass. Symptomatic osteomas must be surgically excised and submitted for histological evaluation. Conclusion: Excessive osseous healing following a tooth extraction may explain this rare form of osteoma.

Abstract Background Pineal region tumors are commonly present in the pediatric age group. However, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is very rare at this region, and only few case reports have been reported till now in literature. Case presentation Here, we report a rare case of pineal region, juxta-thalamic, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) in an 11-year-old male child. The child presented with severe headache after which MRI was done. It was suggestive of pineal region low-grade tumor. The patient was operated in Parkbench position with SCIT (supracerebellar approach) in a retractor-free manner. Gross total resection was done. However, the patient developed postoperative left-sided hemiparesis. It got improved in 1 month, and the patient became ambulatory. Histopathology came out as pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. Conclusion Surgical management should include careful resection near the internal capsule to avoid postoperative hemiparesis. Also, shunt should be delayed in the cystic cavity created by resection of tumor.

While Traveling On An Interstate Highway, A Pick-Up Truck Went Out Of Control As A Result Of The Detachment Of Its Left Rear Wheel. The Loss Of A Wheel From A Moving Vehicle Obviously Represents A Significant Safety Hazard, And, Apparently, Is Not A Rare Occurrence. Wheel Detachment From A Moving Vehicle Causes Instability Of The Vehicle, Which Can Lead To A Series Of Catastrophic Events, Resulting In Serious Injury Or Death. The National Transportation Safety Board Estimates That Approximately 750 - 1050 Reported Accidents And 40-50 Fatalities A Year Occur Due To Truck-Wheel Separations The Wheel-Off Failure Discussed Herein Resulted From The Loss Of Adequate Clamping Load On The Nut/Lug/Wheel Joint. A Case Study Is Presented Of A Vehicle Wheel-Off Failure, After More Than 2000 Miles Of Travel, Resulting From Inadequately Torqued Lug Nuts. An Analysis Is Presented To Determine The Elements Of Causation.
