College pathways significantly improve access to engineering degrees for marginalized or underrepresented students. Although several provinces in Canada have established pathways for students wishing to move from an engineering technology diploma to an engineering degree, such as Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta, and British Columbia, no province-wide pathway in Ontario’s higher education system exists. As a result, transfer students are faced with a myriad of challenges and limited transfer pathways due to the institution-specific and complex nature of transfer articulation agreements in Ontario.  This paper reports on the development of a province-wide diploma-to-degree engineering transfer pathway in Ontario. The proposed pathway program builds upon findings from a previous qualitative research study conducted by the co-authors which highlighted key factors necessary to develop future large-scale transfer pathways. The pathway was designed with the flexibility to incorporate extant institution specific pathways, while also providing a solid foundation for the development of a pilot multi-institutional bridge program. The challenges associated with creating a streamlined transfer pathway from engineering technology to engineering are myriad, and key outcomes from this project will continue to inform the development of possible approaches to a consistent, Ontario-wide engineering transfer program.

Final program projects (capstone course) in manufacturing design engineering technology at National University are intensive experiences in critical thinking and analysis, designed to broaden students’ perspectives and provide an opportunity for integration of coursework in the area of manufacturing design engineering. This paper focuses on three specific capstone projects that were worked on in an undergraduate manufacturing design engineering program. The projects include an office chair design, development of an improved balloon marker placement system for catheter manufacturing, and a modular motorcycle helmet design. This paper summarizes the design methodologies and strategies that were adopted by the students and faculty. In addition, this paper draws on the experiences gained from working on these projects to describe how a capstone project in manufacturing design engineering should be designed for maximum effectiveness. In this context, this paper presents a useful do’s and don’ts list.

This study aims to see the implementation of project based learning methods (PBL) implemented by lecturers in the Science, Technology and Engineering P&P processes in Islam as an effort to enhance students' understanding in the Fiqh Method. Respondents in this study were students of second semester, Diploma of Mechanical Engineering program, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politeknik Banting. Observation and interview methods are used for data collection purposes. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in narrative form. The findings show that PBL activity is a fun and enjoyable P&P activity for students.
