The paper presents the results of measuring thermal conductivity and heat capacity of a flexible thermal insulation. Flexible thermal insulation is a highly porous fibrous material, a construction that includes felt, covered on all sides with fabric. The whole structure is stitched with a thread. The fibrous core, fabric and sewing thread are composed of silica fibers. Thermal conductivity was measured by the stationary method on flat samples. The heat capacity was determined using a NT-1000 calorimeter. The calculation of heat transfer was carried out for the conditions characteristic of those in effect when the spacecraft entered the orbit.

The thin nanofibrous layer has different properties in the field of sound absorption in comparison with porous fibrous material which works on a principle of friction of air particles in contact with walls of pores. In case of the thin nanofibrous layer, which represents a sound absorber here, the energy of sonic waves is absorbed by the principle of membrane resonance. The structure of the membrane can play an important role in the process of converting the sonic energy to a different energy type. The vibration system acts differently depending on the presence of smooth fibers in the structure, amount of partly merged fibers, or structure of polymer foil as extreme. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was used as a polymer because of its good water solubility. It is possible to influence the structure of nanofibrous layer during the production process thanks to this property of polyvinyl alcohol.

The work presents the formulation of inverse problem that allows to estimate the basic parameters describing coupled thermodiffusion of moisture in porous fibrous material and construction of the measuring stand in order to obtain the necessary data to carry out calculations for this purpose. This approach was used to evaluate the changes in the thermodiffusion properties of stone wool samples for the indoor applications that were treated with water and re-dried. In the mathematical model, one introduced a simplification that coupling in the thermodiffusion process is unilateral and includes only the influence of heat transport on moisture transport.

Contemporary eating habits may cause malformations in children jaw, that are difficult to evaluate and treat clinically. In this work, a computational methodology for the diagnosis and the treatment of this pathology is proposed. It combines porous-fibrous material models, medical devices and computational models of patients with facial asymmetries from the perspective of neuro-occlusal rehabilitation.

Abstract Type HW is a nickel-base alloy containing chromium and iron. It is austenitic, non-magnetic, and has exceptionally high resistance to corrosion, cyclic heating, and oxidation. It is of the 60 Ni-12Cr type alloy. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ni-37. Producer or source: Stainless steel foundries. Revised as Alloy Digest Ni-449, April 1994.
