One of the primary issues with many product design and development processes today is having a good balance between the elements of form and function. While all products must be able to perform their intended functions, considerations of aesthetic features are also necessary for them to be accepted as a good quality design. However, most available design and development processes of consumer products have been more focused on achieving the functional aspects and have tended to treat the aesthetic aspects as less crucial features. This approach has led to many failed functional products in the market, as their physical design lacks appealing factors to targeted users. To improve the situation, a new product design and development framework is proposed in this study to better facilitate designers or engineers in creating an all-rounded quality product design. This new method is developed based on the findings from a survey conducted among engineering students, who are future product design engineers, in order to identify and also resolve issues with the current methods that they typically apply for their design tasks. All in all, the new proposed method is fundamentally tailored to offer a structured guide for developing beautiful and useful products based on a semantic design approach.

With the development of information technology, the instrumentation and control system of nuclear power plant nowadays rely heavily on the massive and complex software to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the power plant. The improvement of the software design and development for the safety systems has been a research focus for its decisive impact on the nuclear safety. The framework of the software design and development for reactor protection system in High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor-Pebble bed Module was introduced in this paper. Firstly, during the design period, in addition to multichannel redundancy, grouping of protection variables and diverse 2-out-of-4 logics were adopted by different subsystems of each channel in case of common cause failure. Then a series of development characteristics together with strict software verification and validation were performed. Thirdly, during the software test period, an improved software reliability growth model based on the Goel-Okumoto model according to the analysis of fault severity was proposed to help in estimating the reliability of the software product and identifying the software release time.

There are many different tools and methodologies in the field of human factors for user-centered design. Similarly, other fields have tools and methodologies that enable practitioners in those fields to perform their work. Although these tools may be used most productively within their specific fields, they might contain elements that lend themselves to being applied in other domain areas. The field of quality engineering has been around for a while and has many useful tools. The similarity in the goals of the fields of human factors engineering and quality engineering suggests that there could be certain methodologies and tools in the area of quality engineering that, practitioners of human factors might find useful and applicable to the development of products and services from a user-centered perspective. This paper explores the application of user-centered design in the context of the Deming Cycle to the development of a server computer in an actual organization. It also provides examples of actual issues that were identified during the “check” phase of the Deming Cycle, and describes the actions that were performed to address these issues.

Mainly the frameworks are developed for the developers for rapid application development and less knowledge or without going in depth of a specific area of science and engineering. In this research an API framework for sensor communication using the concept of bit by bit communication has been proposed and tested. That can be used by the programmer and researchers for rapid application development and research. Design and development of APIs is in Java. Sensors used in the research and development are LM35, MQ7, MQ6 etc. All sensors are connected through microcontroller NodeMCU via Wi-Fi 802.11 protocol, Internet and HTTP server for web enablement of the process of data acquisition. All APIs or frameworks of this research will be integrated with the basic firmata4J or it will be available separately so that the user can use it in both the ways. The developed framework can be used for the rapid application development. Framework APIs will be solving the problem of controlling the devices by computer or cloud. In bit by bit communication with NodeMCU or microcontroller research, firmata4J methods make communication with NodeMCU firmata firmware as per the architecture of NodeMCU and pinout diagram according to standard I/O. But it has few limitations. Now there are two frameworks one is basic that is already available firmata4J and second is FirmSens4J. It is being developed in my research. It will be updating to firmata4J.

This article reports on the further development of the task-centered model for difficulties in school performance. We used Bailey-Dempsey and Reid's (1996) application of Rothman and Thomas's (1994) design and development framework and annual evaluations of the Partners in Prevention (PIP) Program to refine the task-centered case management model. Data from four recent PIP evaluations suggests the significant improvement in academic achievement and behaviors that present as barriers to school performance.
