<p><span>This study presents the model, design, and construction of the Arduino based robotic arm, which functions across a distance as it is controlled through a mobile application. A six degree of freedom robotic arm has been designed and implemented for the purpose of this research. The design controlled by the Arduino platform receives orders from the user’s mobile application through wireless controlling signals, that is Bluetooth. The arm is made up of five rotary joints and an end effector, where rotary motion is provided by the servomotor. Each link has been first designed using solid works and then printed by 3D printer. The assembly of the parts of the robot and the motor’s mechanical shapes produce the final prototype of the arm. The Arduino has been programmed to provide rotation to each corresponding servo motor to the sliders in the designed mobile application for usage from distance.</span></p>

Urban shrinkage is a critical issue in local small- and medium-sized cities in Korea. While there have been several studies to analyze the causes and consequences of vacancy increases, most have only focused on socioeconomic associations at larger scale and failed to consider individual housing level characteristics, primarily due to a lack of appropriate data. Based on data including 52,400 individual parcels, this study analyzes the primary contributors to vacant properties and their spatial distribution through a multilevel model design based on data for each parcel. Then, we identify areas at high risk of vacancy in the future to provide evidence to establish policies for improving the local environment. Results indicate that construction year, building structure, and road access conditions have a significant effect on vacant properties at the individual parcel level, and the presence of schools and hypermarket within 500 m are found to decrease vacant properties. Further, prediction outcomes show that the aged city center and areas with strict regulations on land use are expected to have a higher vacancy rate. These findings are used to provide a set of data-based revitalization strategies through the development of a vacancy prediction model.

AbstractAn alternative look at the linear regression model is taken by proposing an original treatment of a full column rank model (design) matrix. In such a situation, the Moore–Penrose inverse of the matrix can be obtained by utilizing a particular formula which is applicable solely when a matrix to be inverted can be columnwise partitioned into two matrices of disjoint ranges. It turns out that this approach, besides simplifying derivations, provides a novel insight into some of the notions involved in the model and reduces computational costs needed to obtain sought estimators. The paper contains also a numerical example based on astronomical observations of the localization of Polaris, demonstrating usefulness of the proposed approach.

Background The side-channel cryptanalysis method based on convolutional neural network (CNNSCA) can effectively carry out cryptographic attacks. The CNNSCA network models that achieve cryptanalysis mainly include CNNSCA based on the VGG variant (VGG-CNNSCA) and CNNSCA based on the Alexnet variant (Alex-CNNSCA). The learning ability and cryptanalysis performance of these CNNSCA models are not optimal, and the trained model has low accuracy, too long training time, and takes up more computing resources. In order to improve the overall performance of CNNSCA, the paper will improve CNNSCA model design and hyperparameter optimization. Methods The paper first studied the CNN architecture composition in the SCA application scenario, and derives the calculation process of the CNN core algorithm for side-channel leakage of one-dimensional data. Secondly, a new basic model of CNNSCA was designed by comprehensively using the advantages of VGG-CNNSCA model classification and fitting efficiency and Alex-CNNSCA model occupying less computing resources, in order to better reduce the gradient dispersion problem of error back propagation in deep networks, the SE (Squeeze-and-Excitation) module is newly embedded in this basic model, this module is used for the first time in the CNNSCA model, which forms a new idea for the design of the CNNSCA model. Then apply this basic model to a known first-order masked dataset from the side-channel leak public database (ASCAD). In this application scenario, according to the model design rules and actual experimental results, exclude non-essential experimental parameters. Optimize the various hyperparameters of the basic model in the most objective experimental parameter interval to improve its cryptanalysis performance, which results in a hyper-parameter optimization scheme and a final benchmark for the determination of hyper-parameters. Results Finally, a new CNNSCA model optimized architecture for attacking unprotected encryption devices is obtained—CNNSCAnew. Through comparative experiments, CNNSCAnew’s guessing entropy evaluation results converged to 61. From model training to successful recovery of the key, the total time spent was shortened to about 30 min, and we obtained better performance than other CNNSCA models.

Agricultural development in Indonesia had been conducted in a top-down manner since its independence, which has limited its effectiveness due to the gap between the reality faced by the development actors and actors who are involved in the agricultural supply chain. This paper provides evidence of a more participative model design by involving most of the actors in its process. The study was performed in action research by using a co-creation approach, involving actors who contributed their thoughts in designing the most suitable model that can support them in reaching a more sustainable supply chain for coffee agribusiness in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The results show that a co-creation approach has managed to improve the performance of the coffee supply chain by the formation of a cooperative, which enhanced coordination among stakeholders. Furthermore, the involvement of farmers provided significant contributions in the design of the model.

Abstract In this paper, the technology of profile generation based on 3D model is studied. The main steps are as follows: (1) the location where the profile needs to be generated in 3D model design; (2) Using 3D data cutting technology to realize the generation of geological lines in profile; (3) Read the basic exploration data related to profile position in the database; (4) According to the data generated in the first three steps, the cross-section is automatically drawn after data coordinate transformation. The above method can quickly generate the geological profile of any location according to the 3D geological model, which is helpful for geological analysis and provides reference data for engineering design.

The brain is processing information 24 hours a day. There are millions of processes proceeding in it accompanied by various spectra of rhythms. This paper tests the hypothesis that the slow delta rhythm excites the gamma rhythm oscillations. Unlike other papers, we determine the slow rhythm spectrum not at the hypothesis stage but during the experiment. We design algorithms of filtering, envelope extraction, and correlation coefficient calculation for signal processing. Moreover, we examine the data on all electroencephalogram channels, which allows us to make a more reasonable conclusion. We confirm that a slow delta rhythm excites a fast gamma rhythm with an amplitude-phase type of interaction and calculate a delay between these two signals equal to about half a second.
