Abstract: Agenesis is a common alteration in the development of men with a prevalence of 3.5 to 8.8%; excluding third molars, usually occurs in female patients and the etiology is multifactorial. ABSTRACT Introduction: Treatments with dental surgery seek to displace tooth to the correct position within the dental arch. Objective: To report a clinical case that took advantage of an unerupted third molar. Case history: A male patient, 18 years of age, was referred by his dentist to evaluate the third molars. The clinical exam revealed no visible lower third molars. The computed tomography (CT) exam showed the presence of a supernumerary tooth in the region of the mandibular ramus, on the left side, and impaction of the third molar, which was causing root resorption on the second molar, thus making it impossible to remain in the buccal cavity. The preferred option, therefore, was to remove both second molar and the supernumerary tooth, in addition to attaching a device to the third molar during surgery for further traction. Results: After 12 months, the third molar reached the proper position. Conclusion: When a mandibular second permanent molar shows an atypical root resorption, an impacted third molar can effectively substitute the tooth by using an appropriate orthodontic-surgical approach.

AbstractHypodontia is the congenital absence of less than six teeth because of agenesis. Congenital absence of tooth (hypodontia) from the dental arch, may occur with any tooth, most commonly being third molars, however, absence of permanent mandibular canine is rare. The absence of teeth may be unilateral or bilateral. There are reports showing unilateral occurrence of permanent mandibular canines but agenesis of bilateral mandibular canines is not well documented in the literature and comprehensive review of literature shows paucity of data pertaining to this anomaly. Here we report one such rare case of congenitally missing mandibular permanent canines bilaterally.

Purposes: The aim of this case report is to suggest and discuss an up-to-date interdisciplinary approach to a complex periodontal case, adjusting different treatment strategies intra-individually based on the biological, functional and aesthetic dimensions of each patient. Case report: The case refers to a 42-year-old healthy male patient with IIIB generalized periodontitis. After cause-related therapy, the patient was submitted to periodontal resective surgery with fibre retention technique in the maxilla and surgical regenerative procedures in the posterior regions of the mandible with enamel matrix derivative and bovine xenograft. After Supportive Periodontal Therapy (SPT) institution the patient went through an aesthetic rehabilitation phase to minimize the disease sequelae. Conclusion: Modern evidence-based periodontal treatment options must be site-specific oriented in order to achieve the best clinical outcomes. A contemporary vision of periodontal treatment must go beyond the moment of establishment of an individualized SPT programme and these restorative solutions are very powerful tools to give back confidence and increase the self-esteem of our patients.

Abstract Impaction of the lower second molar is not a common problem, but it is very challenging for both orthodontist and oral surgeon. Treatment options depend on the degree of tooth inclination, the position of the third molars, and the desired type of movement, which may be surgical and/or orthodontic in nature. A good treatment alternative is surgical uncovering with orthodontically-assisted eruption. A case of successful uprighting using a 0.017 × 0.025–inch titanium molybdenum alloy (TMA) tip-back cantilever is presented. Different aspects of uprighting impacted second molars are discussed in light of the literature. The iatrogenic character of lower second molar impaction is emphasized.

AbstractTandem appliance is preferred over face mask mainly because of compliance reasons. In the given case report, clinicians have used tandem appliance for correcting skeletal class III malocclusion patient in later stage of growth. Operators utilized residual growth. Facial harmony was achieved by gaining positive overjet. Adolescent class III malocclusion is challenging to treat. Occurrence of class III malocclusion is just 5% in India. If patient reports in growing stage, clinicians get many relevant treatment options. Lack of knowledge about growth modulation therapy causes loss of growing stage of patients. This situation reduces available treatment modalities. Here is a case of female patient with class III malocclusion who is near completion of her growth; maxillary growth was stimulated in forward direction taking anchorage from overgrown mandible with the help of tandem appliance.

Ectopic eruption is a developmental disturbance in which the tooth fails to follow its normal eruption pathway. Ectopic eruption of the second molar is relatively rare. This paper presents the case of thirteen-year-old male with an ectopic mandibular second permanent molar. The condition was corrected with surgical exposure and placement of elastic separators. This case report lays emphasis on the practice of basic methods to obtain acceptable results rather than extensive surgical or orthodontic corrections. It is advised that ectopic teeth should not be neglected especially when it concerns developing caries and malocclusion.

AbstractThe aim of this case report is to present the laryngeal granuloma in 23 year old female patient. Case outline: The 23 year old female was admitted for examination, because of long lasting, progressive hoarseness. In anamnesis, we found that she has undergone general anesthesia for 8 times, in the early childhood. We performing direct laryngoscopy with complete otorhinolaryngologic examination, rigid endovideostroboscopy and the large granuloma of the larynx was found. Conclusions: Laryngeal granuloma of vocal cords affected mainly men, except for cases associated with laryngeal intubation. We should keep in mind that postintubation laryngeal granuloma might develop after tracheal intubation, so care must be taken to avoid the potential complication.
