The research introduces a strategy of utilising critical thinking (CT) as an instrument of developing professional skills set in the digital age. The research aims to evaluate the potential of CT in human resources management (HRM). It has been established that the strategy of CT offers a way of intellectual improvement within the framework of professional communication. Therefore, a systematic fostering of CT allows for successful integration of affective and cognitive aspects of communication in the context of HRM. Conversely, this research has identified the potential of the offered strategy in change- and risk management. The  CT strategy has proved itself to be an effective way of professional decision-making in key cognitive aspects as well as in effective ones (intellectual courage, perseverance, confident reasoning, independent thinking in tandem with overcoming egocentrism and sociocentrism). Based on the results of the empirical research within the modern digital environment, the long-term efficiency of the offered strategy has been substantiated; the researchers  have outlined the potential ways of implementing the results of the study, as well as strategy’s growth point.

One of the decisive factors of the long-term functioning and effectiveness of any company business is human resources. The article discusses the approaches and insights on human resources management through the eyes of various authors and explains that human resources are not linked only to the field of management but also in areas such as planning, searching, selection, evaluation, motivation, training, remuneration and of course the release of human resources. The globalized market sharpens competition and human resources management can decide if the company stands on the side of winners. The aim of the article is to assess how companies in the Slovak economy cope with the challenges raised by human resources. Based on the realized survey aimed at identifying the current level of human resources management in organizations operating in Slovakia for the years 2010 - 2012 will analyze and evaluate the current status level of human resources. The gaps in research problems will be identified and will be provided recommendations for improvement of activities related to human resources and enhancing the competitive position of the company through personnel marketing tools. A personnel marketing is used primarily for search and retrieval quality people, their stabilization and strengthening their solidarity with the company. The globalization of economic activities in the last decade brings changes in the world of work; there is uncertainty, inequality, new risks. The new requirements apply to the management of human resources and the sustainability development. To make the company successful in the long term, it must meet the new expectations of their surroundings, which necessarily include the responsible behaviour towards the society in which it operates. Man limits reliability of the features of the system. As a result of the failure to adapt labour conditions humans began to appear health, economic and social consequences. Through human resources and people management can be designed to target the working system and increasing the efficiency of human labour. The paper focuses on the sustainable management of human resources in the context of the requirements of social responsibility, identifying current problems in this area in practice and proposes solutions.   Keywords: Human resources; Management; Corporate social responsibility

Abstract This study is part of a larger paper and brings to the fore a topical issue in today’s society, namely the importance of emotional intelligence in interpersonal relationships in an organization, its connection with the ability of individuals to communicate empathetically, directly, concisely in properly manage working time to avoid occupational stress. This article includes: basics about the importance of emotional intelligence in an organization, the causes of organizational stress, and factors that lead to decreased job satisfaction. The article includes the objective, purpose, research hypothesis, conceptual basis and methodology, tools for measuring stress, emotional intelligence and professional communication.

The current business environment, characterized by a high degree of uncertainty and unpredictability, has led to a sharp increase in competitiveness. The key to the success of any organization in the current period lies in its human resources, the only ones capable of identifying unique and creative solutions to face the threats existing in the environment and to seize existing opportunities. Emphasis should be placed on transforming them and the Human Resources Department into true strategic partners of organizations and on implementing a strategic human resources management. The present paper aims to identify the extent to which, at the level of the organizations from the Western Region of Romania, such elements have been adopted that will contribute to their competitive development. The textile industry is an important sector that has powerful impact over the economic and social development of a region or country. Its long term development depends not only on the business characteristics, but especially on the strategic decisions and approaches, with direct results in terms of profitability, jobs creation and integration with other economic sectors. Therefore, in our research we introduced in the sample companies from this dynamic field. The results of the study showed that the tendency of appreciation of their existence in organizations is wide spread. In the same time, it was confirmed that the existence of a strategic human resources management in organizations is conditioned by the strategic use of human resources practices, in the long term, in order to contribute to the achievement of the general business objectives. Also, in order for the human resources strategy to bring its contribution to the realization of the general business strategy, there is a need for human resources activities that are aligned with the company’s objectives. Without claiming that the study carried out is an exhaustive one, we consider that the information presented are unique and can be useful for those interested.
