Length-weight relationship (LWR) of five species of the genus Labeo (Family: Cyprinidae) namely L. rohita (Hamilton,1822), L. calbasu (Hamilton,1822), L. bata (Hamilton,1822), L. dyocheilus (McClelland, 1839) and L. porcellus (Heckel, 1844), based on 214 specimens collected from Cauvery River in Peninsular India, were established. Sampling was carried out from December 2017 to December 2018 at around three months interval. The value of regression coefficient (b) ranged from 2.6147 (L. bata) to 3.2855 (L. dyocheilus). A new maximum length of 41 cm for L. porcellus has been recorded. For L. porcellus, LWR is established for the first time while for other species (except L. rohita); it is estimated for the first time from a peninsular river in India. Relative condition factor estimated for the five fish species did not show large scale variation (1.001 to 1.019).

Length–weight, length–length relationships and condition factors were estimated for two fish species (Chondrostoma regium, Barbus lacerta) caught between October 2014 and September 2015 in the 14 distinct locations of Karasu River, East Anatolia, Turkey. Minimum and maximum total length and weight were observed at 7.5 to 31.0 cm and from 5.7 to 280 g for C. regium, 7.0 to 24.0 cm and from 4.0-211 g for B. lacerta. The b values determined as 2.77 for Chondrostoma regium; 3.10 for Barbus lacerta. The types of growth were found negative allometric for C. regium and isometric growth for B. lacerta. The length-length relations between total, fork, and standard lengths for the two fish species were highly significant. The relative condition factor values were found to 1.102±0.013 for C. regium; 1.176±0.019 for B. lacerta. This study submits for the first time LWR, LLR and condition factor of two species in the Karasu River.

The present investigation was carried out for establishing the length weight relationship and to enumerate the relative condition factor and the sex ratio of Neolissochilus hexagonolepis from Tamor River, Nepal. Altogether 198 fishes were investigated from December 2014 till the end of November 2016. The sex ratio of the fish was found to be in the ratio of 1:1.2 with female dominating the catch for most parts of the year. Analysis of t-test showed a highly significant relationship (p˂0.05) between length and weight for male, female and sexes pooled. The fish was found to show isometric growth pattern with exponential value (b) equal to 2.962 for sexes pooled. The mean value of Fulton's condition factor (K) for sexes pooled was found to be 1.29 ± 0.49 giving the indication that the general well being of the fish was good. Sudden increase in the value of relative condition factor (Kn) in the size group 30-33 cm in male and 42-45 cm in female indicated their length range during which they showed the sign of maturation for the first time. Steep fall in the value of 'Kn' in size groups 33-36 cm onwards in male and 45-48 cm in female indicated their length range at spent phase.

Snappers are highly recommended as choice seafood and as viable candidate for cage culture in the brackish water and marine environments. However, very limited data exists on biological parameters of the snappers, Lutjanus species throughout their distribution range. Hence, the present study sought to improve knowledge on Length-Weight Relationship (LWR) and relative condition factor (Kn) of the Gorean snapper, Lutjanus goreensis (Valenciennes, 1830) sampled between December 2008 and December 2009 in the coastal zone of Lagos, Nigeria. Specimens were collected from landings of artisanal fisheries and inshore trawl fisheries. A total of 822 unsexed estuarine (7.90 to 34.90 cm and 9.51-695.60 g) and 377 sexed marine (21.90 to 56.10 cm and 156-2 975 g) specimens were analyzed. The overall value of the slope, b for the LWR indicated negative allometric growth for unsexed estuarine (2.860); marine male (2.856) and female (2.917) specimens, respectively. The relative condition factor, Kn did not vary significantly from 1. Sex-wise variations of b values and Kn were not significant either. The present study presents, for the first time, baseline information on the length-weight relationship parameters and condition of L. goreensis in the marine waters of Nigeria and in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean. The results are useful indicators to assess the well-being of wild Gorean snapper populations in Lagos coastal zones for management and under culture conditions. This study aims to determine the length-weight relationship (LWR) and evaluate the condition factors of the tropical sand goby, Acentrogobius caninus (Valenciennes 1837), in Pabean Bay West Java, Indonesia. The sampling was carried out once a month from January to December 2015, and during that period, 152 samples were collected. The LWR is W = 9 x 10-6 L-3.0356. The growth pattern of tropical sand goby is isometric (b=3). The monthly relative condition factor ranged from 0.798 to 1.322 (average: 1.028).

The present work reports the length–weight relationships (LWR) and condition factor and of Cirrhinus cirrhosus inhabiting in River Indus, Sindh-Pakistan. The Length-weight relationship is an important tool for fishery management. A total of 340 specimens (individual) of length–weight were measured. A maximum length of the groups was observed 20.7cm and minimum as 9.4cm. The maximum weight was recorded about 84gm and minimum as 6gm. The estimated values of length-weight relationship and condition factor were calculated by formula LeCren (1951), as Kn=0.547, and Fulton as K=0.724. Length-weight was found with a strong correlation of n= 3.101, C=0.0176 with r2=0.894. The results of this work would be beneficial for sustainable management as well as fishery managers.

The present study estimated parameters of the length-weight relationship (LWR) and allometric condition factor for eight fish species from the upper Araguari River, in the State of Amapá, Brazil. A total of 615 fish of eight species were analyzed: Acestrorhynchus falcatus, A. falcirostris, Ageneiosus inermis, Hemiodus unimaculatus, Hoplias aimara, Myloplus asterias, M. ternetzi and Tometes trilobatus. The allometric condition factor varied from 0.742 to 1.435. The coefficient of allometry ranged from 2.723 to 3.225. The coefficient of determination (R2) of the LWR ranged from 0.742 to 0.985. This is the first estimate of the length-weight relationship for fish from the Araguari River and the first record of these parameters for Myloplus ternetzi and Tometes trilobatus.
