The organization of labor activities of disabled people in the territory of the Kuznetsk District in the second half of the 1920s - 1930s is being considered in the article. The dynamics of the development of the system of disability cooperation is shown. The study examined working conditions, the pay system, its advantages compared to the receipt of a tiny pension. Opportunities to train persons with disabilities in professions within the technical training plant have been identified. The main types of production activities in which disabled artels specialized were established, these are: artisanal production of food, basic necessities, trade and household services. The conclusion is drawn that economic problems of artels arose in connection with weak financial support from social securities, supply with raw materials and materials by the residual principle, domination of manual work, formal work of local councils with chairmen of the artels allowing cases of mismanagement and abuse of official position. In general, the level of organization of work of persons with disabilities in the Kuznetsk District was in line with the State’s policy of pragmatising their productive potential during the period of intensive industrial construction in the region.

A disabled person in a company is affected by a number of various environmental conditions. Among these the most important are such as organizational, technical, social, economic and, finally, legal working conditions. The standard and quality of the just mentioned conditions determine significantly the way in which a disabled person performs the assigned tasks and duties in the company and it also helps to create the individual sense of self-fulfillment and work satisfaction. What is more, at the same time the level of environmental conditions influences directly work efficiency and profits of the company. It must be clearly stated that working conditions do not appear immediately and spontaneously - they need careful planning and modern organization. This research paper presents the environmental conditions and discusses a model design of the work organization for the disabled people.

Despite growing attention for how disabled people become Othered in organizational settings and similar scholarly interest in the treatment of non-humans at work, no analysis so far has focused on the potential double marginalization that takes place when disabled people go to work with their service animal. In filling this void, this study draws attention to the embodied entanglement of ‘humanimal’ in a number of organizations where animals are unexpected. The study argues that the spatial, discursive and affective treatment of service dogs operates as a proxy for the in/exclusion of employees with mobility and visual impairments. This way, processes of ableism become masked as subtle and indirect performances towards non-human Others. Contributions are made towards several literatures by introducing the idea of a ‘proxy’ to help understand the different modes of peripheral inclusion of disabled employees via their legally accepted service animals, by bringing in the role of affect in workplace disablement, and finally by taking animal labour more seriously.

In Québec, an original collaborative project combining epidemiology, community organization, and medical care has evolved over the years in order to promote the recognition of work-related diseases, particularly among non-unionized workers. This article will describe this innovative project as well as its achievements, strengths, and weaknesses.

Myoelectric prosthesis has become an important aid to disabled people. Although it can help people to recover to a nearly normal life, whether they can adapt to severe working conditions is a subject that is yet to be studied. Generally speaking, the working environment is dominated by vibration. This paper takes the gripping action as its research object, and focuses on the identification of grasping intentions under different vibration frequencies in different working conditions. In this way, the possibility of the disabled people who wear myoelectric prosthesis to work in various vibration environment is studied. In this paper, an experimental test platform capable of simulating 0–50 Hz vibration was established, and the Surface Electromyography (sEMG) signals of the human arm in the open and grasping states were obtained through the MP160 physiological record analysis system. Considering the reliability of human intention recognition and the rapidity of algorithm processing, six different time-domain features and the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) classifier were selected as the sEMG signal feature extraction and recognition algorithms in this paper. When two kinds of features, Zero Crossing (ZC) and Root Mean Square (RMS), were used as input, the accuracy of LDA algorithm can reach 96.9%. When three features, RMS, Minimum Value (MIN), and Variance (VAR), were used as inputs, the accuracy of the LDA algorithm can reach 98.0%. When the six features were used as inputs, the accuracy of the LDA algorithm reached 98.4%. In the analysis of different vibration frequencies, it was found that when the vibration frequency reached 20 Hz, the average accuracy of the LDA algorithm in recognizing actions was low, while at 0 Hz, 40 Hz and 50 Hz, the average accuracy was relatively high. This is of great significance in guiding disabled people to work in a vibration environment in the future.
