Abstract Corynebacterium amycolatum ICIS 99 was isolated from vaginal smears of healthy women and showed promising results in antimicrobial screenings. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this strain and analyze its main features to assess its safety and useful properties. The genome is 2,532,503 bp long and contains 2,186 CDSs with an average G+C content of 59.0%. Analyses of the ICIS 99 genome revealed the absence of true virulence genes. The genome contains genes involved in the synthesis of secondary metabolites and bacteriocins of the class sactipeptide. In the genome of ICIS 99, we identified a large number of genes responsible for adaptation and survival in the vaginal environment, including acid and oxidative stress resistance genes. The genomic information of ICIS 99 provides a basis for understanding the safety and useful properties of ICIS 99 and for considering it as a potential probiotic strain. However, further research is needed to test its probiotic efficacy in vivo. The whole genome shotgun project has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession number JAIUSU000000000.

This report describes the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus brevis TUCO-5E, a probiotic strain isolated from porcine maternal milk. The reads were generated by a whole-genome sequencing (WGS) strategy on an Illumina MiSeq sequencer and were assembled into contigs with a total estimated size of 2,461,089 bp.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Streptococcus pneumoniae EF3030, a pediatric otitis media isolate active in biofilm assays of epithelial colonization. The final draft assembly included 2,209,198 bp; the annotation predicted 2,120 coding DNA sequences (CDSs), 4 complete rRNA operons, 58 tRNAs, 3 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), and 199 pseudogenes.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Trichosporon domesticum JCM 9580, isolated from the house of a patient with summer-type hypersensitivity pneumonitis (SHP) in Japan. This genomic information will help elucidate the mechanisms of the development of SHP.

In this report, we present the draft genome sequence of a newly discovered potential probiotic strain of Lactobacillus kefiri, SGL 13, isolated from kefir grains. Antibiotic resistance analysis did not reveal evidence of interspecific horizontal gene transfer since the identified bacitracin resistance gene does not have mobile genetic elements.

ABSTRACT We report here the 3,637,012-bp draft genome sequence of Microbacterium sp. strain LEMMJ01, isolated from ornithogenic soil from King George Island, Antarctica. The total number of genes presented in the draft genome sequence was 3,553, and the total number of coding sequences was 3,497. In addition, genes related to the production of terpene and carotenoids were revealed.

A draft genome of SAR324 bacterium lautmerah10 was assembled from a metagenome of a surface water sample from the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. The genome is more complete and has a higher G+C content than that of previously sequenced SAR324 representatives. Its genomic information shows a versatile metabolism that confers an advantage to SAR324, which is reflected in its distribution throughout different depths of the marine water column.

Here, we report a draft genome sequence of a bacterial strain, F-183, isolated from a duckweed frond. Strain F-183 belongs to the family Bryobacteraceae of the phylum Acidobacteria , and its genomic information would contribute to understanding the ecophysiology of this abundant but rarely characterized phylum.
