Abstract The modern datacenter's computing capabilities have far outstripped the applications running within and have become a hidden cost of doing business due to how software is architected and deployed. Resources are over-allocated to monolithic applications that sit idle for large parts of the day. If applications were architected and deployed differently, shared services could be used for multiple applications as needed. When combined with powerful orchestration software, containerized microservices can both deploy and dynamically scale applications from very small to very large within moments—scaling the application not only across a single datacenter but across all datacenters where the application(s) are deployed. In this paper, we analyze data from an application(s) deployed both as a single monolithic codebase and as a containerized application using microservice-based architecture to calculate the performance and computing resource waste are both architected and deployed. A modern approach is offered as a solution as a path from how to go from a monolithic codebase to a more efficient, reliable, scalable, and less costly deployment model.

The article considers the issues of formation and effective use of inventories by enterprises. It is confirmed that the subject of the inventory management policy consists of two main blocks: the inventory formation policy and the inventory use management policy. Inventory formation management occurs by applying inventory management models. Inventory use management performed by means of indicator calculations of reserves effective use. Inventories are grouped and classified according to the most important features. Inventory management tasks and exiting models is carried out, which takes into account the classic and modern approach to doing business. It is proved that the concepts previously used fail to justify themselves in the new conditions. It is established that most companies in the world improve the efficiency of inventory management as follows: rationalization of processes between companies, shifting ownership of inventory towards suppliers (implementation of the principle of “inventory managed by supplier”), direct delivery of finished products to the consumer in accordance with his wishes and financial capabilities, inventory management using the principle of “just in time”, introduction of flexible (lean) production, etc. Thus, the main trend of foreign firms, in contrast to domestic ones, is the spread of the concept of inventory minimization. Nine provisions (theses) have been formulated for the methodology of forming various for managing inventory values of an enterprise.

This study investigates the impact of Ease of Doing Business on Inward FDI over the period from 2011 to 2015 across the globe. This study measures ease of doing business using starting a business, getting credit, registering property, paying taxes and enforcing contracts. The research used a sample of 177 countries from 190 countries listed in World Bank. Least square regression model via E-views software used to examine causal relationship. The study found that ease of doing business indicators ‘Enforcing Contracts’ was found to have a positive significant impact on Inward FDI. Nevertheless, ‘Getting Credit’ and ‘Registering Property’ were found to have a negative significant impact on Inward FDI. However, ‘Starting a Business’ and ‘Paying Taxes’ have no significant impact on Inward FDI in the studied timeframe of this research. The findings of the study suggested the ease of doing business enables inward FDI through better contract enforcements, getting credit and registering property. The findings of the research will assist international managers and companies to know the importance of ease of doing business when investing in foreign countries through FDI.

In the article two types of rent are differentiated: resource rent and administrative rent. The latter is linked to restrictions on the access to the field of interactions. The contribution of the theory of public choice and the theory of rent-seeking and directly-unproductive activities is further developed by shifting the emphasis from individual decision-making to interactions between three actors: C, who controls access to the field, A, who gets a competitive edge as a result, and B, who assumes a subjacent position with regard to both A and C, yet still receives a positive gain from transacting. Domination by virtue of a constellation of As, Bs, and Cs interests is illustrated with the help of an in-depth case study of a Russian region. This study combines quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as their triangulation.
