AbstractIn this paper we prove that in order to define the homology of [3], the hypothesis that there exists a vector field in the kernel of the contact form which defines a dual form with the same orientation is not essential. The technique is quantitative: as we introduce a large amount of rotation near the zeroes of the vector field in the kernel, we track down the modification of the variational problem and provide bounds on a key quantity (denoted by τ).

Operations of modern companies involve adjusting offered products and services to requirements and expectations of customers which are changing permanently. In order to keep up with expectations of consumers, they are engaged in production, promotion and consumption of co-produced goods or services. This article focuses on the phenomenon of inter-prosumption, that is cooperation consumer – Internet user and manufacturer through web pages to develop new or improve existing products, which is in this case taste of food products or their better packaging. Creating product innovation by engaged consumers requires good communication between them and the manufacturer. Such communication is often possible through a website and a contact form.

We prove that certain non-exact magnetic Hamiltonian systems on products of closed hyperbolic surfaces and with a potential function of large oscillation admit non-constant contractible periodic solutions of energy below the Mañé critical value. For that we develop a theory of holomorphic curves in symplectizations of non-compact contact manifolds that arise as the covering space of a virtually contact structure whose contact form is bounded with all derivatives up to order three.

AbstractIn this paper we study a functional at infinity associated to a contact form on a three dimensional manifold. The Morse index of this functional at infinity can be decomposed into two parts, one along the characteristic manifold and the other along the normal directions. We prove that we can redistribute the negative directions between the two subspaces through a local deformation of the contact form near a critical point at infinity.

A contact manifold admitting a supporting contact form without contractible Reeb orbits is called hypertight. In this paper we construct a Rabinowitz–Floer homology associated to an arbitrary supporting contact form for a hypertight contact manifold [Formula: see text], and use this to prove versions of a conjecture of Sandon [17] on the existence of translated points and to show that positive loops of contactomorphisms give rise to non-contractible Reeb orbits.

In this paper, we classify compact manifolds of dimension three equipped with a path structure and a fixed contact form (which we refer to as a strict path structure) under the hypothesis that their automorphism group is non-compact. We use a Cartan connection associated to the structure and show that its curvature is constant.

Purpose Mechanical wear is the main wear form of abrasive single crystal diamond (SCD) grit. The mechanical wear of SCD grit has a significant influence on the tool life and machining quality. This paper aims to investigate the influence of grit–workpiece contact form on the mechanical wear characteristics of SCD grit. Design/methodology/approach Three different grit–workpiece contact forms, which involved point/line/face contact forms, are investigated to reveal the wear mechanism of SCD grit scratching on Ta12W. The wear morphology, wear volume and scratching forces are measured, and the stress models of different contact forms are analyzed. Findings The results show that mechanical wear mainly occurs in the grit–workpiece contact area and increases gradually from contact area to entire SCD grit. The scratching forces vary with the mechanical wear progress of SCD grits. The SCD grit with point contact form is the most prone to produce wear. The SCD grit with face contact form can remove more material volume than the other two SCD grits, and it is the most wear resistant. The stress state is closely related with the mechanical wear of SCD grit. The contact form has a significant influence on the mechanical wear of SCD grit. Originality/value The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the fabrication of abrasive tools.

The kinematic interface joints are widely used in reflector systems of the high-power solid-state laser facilities. In order to get better finite element(FE) analysis results of reflector systems, it is important to model the joints exactly. The accordant displacement method is used for modeling the joints according to the contact form of joints. The FE model of the reflector system is built subjected to the assuming, the modal analysis and the ambient vibration calculations are carried out. The computing results of inherent frequencies, measure points’ root mean square(RMS) displacements and the transfer characteristics of four kinematic interface positions are accordant with that of the test results. The compared results show that the method modeling the kinematic interface joints is feasible in the paper.
