A comparative analysis of the camera eyes of gastropod pulmonate molluscs Cepaea nemoralis and Cepaea hortensis was carried out on the basis of original and published data. It was demonstrated that the eyeballs and their main components in C. nemoralis and C. hortensis have more similarities in morphological and optical properties than in anatomical parameters.

The research paper demonstrates a comprehensive comparative analysis of the state of coniferous plantations in Minsk in areas with a favourable and predominantly unfavourable ecological situation and control trees growing in relatively clean territories. The morphological-anatomical and bilateral (in terms of fluctuating asymmetry) patterns of needles of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) change were revealed, reflecting the severity of anthropogenic press on the urban environment. The possibility of using the FTIR spectroscopy method combined with chemometric analysis algorithms for the differentiation of needles is shown. Using the method of principal components, the test samples were divided into clusters reflecting the extent of their anthropogenic load.

Purpose. To conduct a comparative analysis of the anatomical parameters of the eyeball in children with ametropia, congenital glaucoma, aphakia and artiphakia.Material and methods. The study involved 73 patients (146 eyes) aged 5 to 12 years with ametropia, congenital glaucoma, aphakia and artiphakia and was carried out on an ultrasonic device STRONG 6000 T in the A-scan mode with the 10 MHz sensor set for three points.Results. A significant increase in the size of axial length of the eyeball in moderate and high myopia and in the vertical size in high myopia were revealed. In high hyperopia, sagittal dimensions were reduced while the transverse dimensions were a bit greater than the sagittal ones. In far-advanced stage of congenital glaucoma, a significant increase in eyeball dimensions was noted both in the axial direction and in the transverse — horizontal direction. No significant differences in sagittal and transverse dimensions were noted in aphakia and artiphakia. Conclusion. For a comprehensive assessment of the clinical course of the disease, in particular as concerns the condition of the fibrous capsule of the eye in children with ametropia, congenital glaucoma, aphakia and artiphakia, echobiometric indicators characterizing sagittal and transverse (vertical and horizontal) sizes of the eyeball should be taken into account.

There are various opinions in the literature on the importance of morpho-anatomical leaf features, such as the number of stomata, the presence of trichomes, cuticle thickness, cell size, leaf thickness, etc. for the susceptibility of plants to foliar herbicides. Knowing that differences in the plant's sensitivity to herbicides may be due to differences in leaf sufrace and inner structure of leaves, a detailed micromorphological and anatomical analysis was performed on the leaves of tolerant and susceptible sunflower forms, both in cultivated hybrids and populations of weedy sunflower. It is interesting that while no significant differences in the number of trichomes and stomata between the resistant and susceptible weedy sunflower populations were observed, in comercial sunflower genotypes these numbers were significantly different. Namely, the number of stomata in the sensitive comercial sunflower hybrid was significantly higher than in the tolerant ones, but the tolerant hybrids had significantly more leaf trichomes than the sensitive one. Consequently, it is possible that the higher density of trichomes makes it impossible for the herbicides to reach the surface of the leaf epidermis, resulting in a reduced uptake. It has also been shown that plants with different levels of herbicide susceptibility also differ in various anatomical parameters.
