Use of interactive Trivia for learning the laws of the gameAbstractThis paper presents the interactive quiz game designed by TECMERIN research group in collaboration with the Federation Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) as an educational tool to facilitate learning of referees and assistant referees in football. The paper explains the structure and dynamics of the game, the technology used and the structure and the theoretical fundaments. We also analyze the advantages of the model as a teaching resource. In preliminary results, there is a great satisfaction as an educational tool and immediate possibility of extrapolating the model to other fields of learning.

This chapter presents the interactive trivia game developed by the TECMERIN research group in collaboration with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) as an online educational resource to facilitate the learning process for football referees and assistant referees. The interactive trivia model uses a total of 1500 multiple-choice questions. This research explains the structure and dynamics of the game, the technology used, its structure, and the theoretical basis. The model has been tried out by eleven international referee instructors in order to test the user experience as felt by the participants. The results obtained show great satisfaction in the game as an educational resource and confirm the immediate possibility of extrapolating the model to other areas of sport.

"CyberAIMs stands for Cyber Agents’ Interactive Modeling and Simulation. We designed this tool in order to use it as an educational tool to teach Master students in a Cyber security course. This paper aims to describe the model and explain the design choices behind CyberAIMs in terms of associating them with the emerging concepts within cyber security curriculum, namely adversarial and systems thinking. The preliminary results indicate that the current distribution of values and entities allows most of the defense agents to avoid losing all their resources to their attack counterparts. We intend to use this tool as part of a lab with students in Information Security and further extend our target users, by including others who need training in adversarial and systems thinking. We conclude by providing rough results from running simulations with the tool and giving further directions of our future research, in order to improve the usability and level of detail for this tool."

AbstractWe present preliminary results on the investigation of one polar crown prominence that erupted on 2012 March 11. This prominence is viewed at the east limb by SDO/AIA and displays a simple vertical-thread structure. A bright U-shape (double horn-like) structure is observed surrounding the upper portion of the prominence before the eruption and becomes more prominent during the eruption. When viewed on the disk, STEREO_B shows that this prominence is composed of series of vertical threads and displays a loop-like structure during the eruption. We focus on the magnetic support of the prominence by studying the structure and dynamics before and during the eruption using observations from SDO and STEREO. We will also present preliminary DEM analysis of the cavity surrounding the prominence.

A study based on a survey questionnaire was conducted with 91 teachers across multiple high schools in the United States to understand their perceptions about the usefulness of using neurorobots to teach neuroscience. In this paper, neurorobot refers to a combination of robotics, active learning, and neuroscience. To situate teachers with an example of how robots can be used to teach neuroscience, we describe an educational tool called the SpikerBot. Our preliminary results indicate that there is an opportunity for neuroscience-oriented robots in secondary education, provided sufficient on-boarding and training videos.

IntroductionPro-inflammatory states of the large bowel have a multifactorial aetiology, including metabolism, atherogenesis, and psychological determinants. Inflammation plays a role in depressive and anxiety disorders, is tightly associated with early pro-atherogenetic alterations and metabolic dysregulation, and is also a key factor for the development of colorectal cancer.AimTo investigate the association between pro-atherogenetic factors, metabolic status, psychological assessment and presence of colorectal adenomas.MethodsCase-control study, approved by the local Ethic Committee. Patients aged 40 or more and undergoing colonoscopy for positive faecal blood test and/or abdominal symptoms, with a negative history for neoplasia or inflammatory bowel diseases, were enrolled. For each patient the following data were collected: waist and hip circumferences, BMI, arterial pressure, fasten serum glycemia, current medications. Beside colonoscopy, carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) was assessed by means of echographic evaluation. Psychometric assessment included HADS, TCI, IMSA, SF-36. Statistics performed with SigmaPlot v.12 Platform.ResultsPreliminary results are available for 18 patients (male/female 8/10) Mean age 62.6 ± 8.4. Ten patients had at least one adenoma, 8 patients had no lesions. The following differences were noticeable: HADS-depression (mean ± SD) adenoma vs. no-adenoma: 4.9 ± 3.2 vs. 1.7 ± 1.8 (P < .01); IMT median value adenoma vs. no-adenoma: 793 vs. 638 micrometers (P = .04); Body weight (mean ± SD) adenoma vs. no-adenoma: 66.4 ± 8.7 kg vs. 80.9 ± 15.3 kg (P = .03); waist circumference (mean ± SD) adenoma vs. no-adenoma: 105.2 ± 13.4 cm vs. 89.5 ± 4.7 cm (P < .01).ConclusionsPreliminary data from PNEI-MO Research Group support the relation between systemic inflammation, psychological status and development of precancerous colorectal cancer lesions. Depression seems associated with the presence of colorectal adenomas.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.
