The present research featured the typological features of psycho-social, neurophysiological, and endocrine status of 214 schoolchildren of both sexes aged 14–16. The research objective was to identify the relationship between psychosocial and physiological adaptation of adolescents. Cardiorhythmography made it possible to divide the participants according to three types of vegetative regulation: sympathicotonia, vagotonia, and eutonia. The participants were tested for indicators of neurodynamics, emotional state, and socio-psychological adaptation, as well as for cortisol and testosterone content in saliva. Intersystem interrelations were evaluated by means of correlation analysis. The teenagers with predominating sympathetic influences appeared to possess the highest degree of conjugation of social-psychological and vegetative components of the functional system: as anxiety and manifestations of social-psychological misadaptation increased, so did the ergotropic impact on heart beat rate. The vagotonic teenagers demonstrated a much lower total number of correlations, with a distinct interrelation between the increasing anxiety level and the increasing parasympathetic impact. The teenagers with eutonia had a lower number of correlations between psychological, neurodynamic, and vegetative levels in comparison with other types. The analysis revealed the following adaptive strategies in adolescents. The trophotropic hyporeactive strategy was typical of male vagotonics with relatively high levels of steroid hormone secretion. The ergotropic hyperreactive strategy was popular in the sympathotonic group, especially boys with low levels of anabolic and catabolic steroids and girls with a relatively high content of testosterone. The adolescents with eutonia proved to have the balanced strategy. The data obtained can help to create pedagogical conditions for improving the adaptive capacity of schoolchildren, as well as for the development of individual style of activity and successful learning in teenagers.

The article features a study of psychophysiological, social- psychological characteristics and coping strategies of middle school pupils with the aim to research their psychosocial and physiological adaptation, the level of stress resistance, motivational and behavioral characteristics. 90 pupils of 5th and 8th grades were studied. The article analyzes the complex neurodynamic and psychodynamic indicators of social and psychological adaptation-maladjustment, the functional state of the autonomic regulation of the heart rate features. It has been shown that a significant role in the formation of adaptive possibilities of students is determined by a combination of age and gender characteristics of personality, of neurodynamic and psychovegetative parameters. It was found that the structure of the functional system, which reflects the relationship of psycho-physiological and social-psychological characteristics, indicates the need for more profound identification of indicators of individual autonomic reactivity and psychovegetative provision of adaptive responses in adolescent students in school environment.

It is well known that efficacy of asthma treatment depends on a choice of a basic medication as well as on a delivery system. The aim of this study was a comparison of clinical efficacy of equal doses of beclomethasone dipropionate (Beclasone Eco Easi Breathe) and fluticasone propionate (Flixotide) via MDI. The study was designed as a randomized open prospective comparative trial. Findings of 26 patients with moderate and severe asthma of > 18 yrs old were analyzed, such as medical history, physical findings, spirometric and bronchodilating test results, heart beat rate and blood pressure, quality of life (QoL) using Russian version of AQLQ questionnaire. After the run-in period the patients randomly received Beclasone Eco Easi Breathe 500 to 1000 μg daily or Flixotide at the same doses for 4 weeks followed the cross-over change of the drugs for the next 4 weeks. After 1 month of the treatment, significant improvements in airflow parameters, need in short-acting β2 -agonists and QoL have been reported. After changing the drugs these effects have been maintained with no further reliable improvement. Thus, the study demonstrated similar efficacy and safety of these inhaled steroids that could be considered as being clinically equal in treatment of moderate and severe asthma.

Air transport development brings an increased focus on the safety of piloting. The safety conditions can be assessed by mental workload. Psychic discomfort or excessive stress on pilots can negatively influence the course of flights. Therefore it appears convenient to monitor such parameters, which represent the mental wellbeing, or discomfort of a pilot. Since physiological measurements can provide a good information about mental workload or stress, this work primarily focuses on the observation of the change in heart rate, as it is an indicator of stress during the training of pilots, using the designed modular telemetry system. Another aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of a change in the avionic data visualization. This can have an unfavorable effect on the piloting of an airplane. This work, based on the evaluation of heart rate shows, that the switch from analog visualization to glass cockpit creates increased levels of stress in pilots, which was proved for all examined subjects except one. Significant level of correlation in the heart beat rate change in subjects in the course of training was also discovered.

In this paper how to generate respiratory flow that has fractal signal feature is introduced. Physiological signal have fractal feature have been verified by many researchers, such as heart beat rate, interbreath interval. Mechanical ventilators are used to provide life support for patients with respiratory failure. But these machines can damage the lung, causing them to collapse. On the other hand, fractal feature can be used as an indication of health situation; as a result in patient simulation the physiological signal should also have fractal features. The fractal feature is generated by fractional Brownian motion simulation. The fractal dimension is decided by Hurst exponent in routine. The algorithm is realized by R language and result is input into LabVIEW which have friendly interface and easy for simulation control usage. The method can be used in design of mechanical ventilator and medical patient simulator.
