This study aims to present an adapted model of Rapoport’s environmental-behavioural study model for home interior spaces design according to family relations in Islam. Suggested model is designed in regards to Islamic content in the boundaries of Islamic-Iranian concept. The research results were confirmed by the use of Delphi Method. Proficiency examination of this model, introduced as an educational tool of home space design model, was carried out through two undergraduate student groups of analyse and control. Results show that the analysed group designed their home space system in relevant to Islamic thought by high percentage, whereas no much difference is noticeable in creativity and aesthetic aspects of both examined groupsKeywords: Environmental Behaviour Studies; Home Space Design Model; Design Education; Islam2398-4295 © 2017 The Authors. Teamwork involves different types of interactions—specifically cooperation andcollaboration—that are necessary in education and many other professions. The differencesbetween cooperation and collaboration underline the teacher’s role in influencing groupdynamics, which represent both a foundation for professional design education and aprequalification for students’ competences as teachers and for critical evaluation. As a testcase, we focused on the Working Together action-research project in design education forspecialised teacher training in design, arts, and crafts at the Oslo Metropolitan University,which included three student groups in the material areas of drawing, ceramics, and textiles.The project developed the participants’ patience, manual skills, creativity, and abilities,which are important personal qualities for design education and innovation and representcornerstones in almost every design literacy and business environment. The hope is thatstudents will transform these competences to teaching pupils of all ages in their futurecareers.

Environmental stewardship starts with education. This paper aims to discuss how preschools can be used to nurture environmental stewards among Malaysian children. In summary, elements of preschool physical environments can be manipulated to enhance environmental education while landscape elements such as vegetation and topography can be manipulated to maximize interaction with nature. Effective interaction with nature is the most important factor to ensure environmental awareness. Findings are useful for Malaysian designers and policy makers to ensure that preschool’s physical settings support environmental education to respond to climate change and preserve the planet for future generations.© 2016. This paper argues the flexibility of focus group in Design research as a controlled-experiment setting to study Designerly Intuition at concept-stage decision making. This paper outlines the focus group design in terms of the types and structure considerations and the moderator factor. Finally, the focus-group result gathers dual-mode input from novice Industrial Designers (1) 'as a group' and the intuitive attributes as (2) ‘individual participants’. Therefore, the focus group design for the data collection setting is established through the research layout and space design that accommodates both modes of inquiry. Urban designers fail to design high quality environments either because of economical constraints or educational limitation. This study aims to compare physical environmental quality and education system in two countries, Palestine and Turkey. The quantity of design education departments in each country, the course contents in each department, the quantity and profession of instructors in each department, presence of a course related to environment and behaviour studies or design theories were compared. What needs to be improved in design education to create better environments is discussed as well as the directions for future studies.© 2016. The Authors. This study evaluates the spatial properties of flats block, where daily social interactions often take place, in order to identify socially encouraging layouts. It attempts to establish any significant relationship between spatial properties of flats layouts and the local network of social relations among the residents. It employed network mapping to measure social contact sizes and utilized syntactical software to compare visibility and integration levels of various flats configurations. Findings showed possible relationship between flats spatial properties and the size of social contacts. With the continuous development of China’s economy, people’s quality of life is constantly improving. As a matter of course, more and more attention is paid to home design. In particular, the space design of small apartments is welcomed by everyone. Among them, soft cloth decoration is a very popular form of home design now, which is very suitable for the design and use of small apartment. But the diversity of small family space brings difficulties to the design. The design and calculation of the simple home space in the small apartment with the RANSAC algorithm is fully satisfied with the requirements of the use of the algorithm and can achieve the accuracy of our calculation and facilitate communication with customers. The RANSAC algorithm has the powerful ability of image processing, which can help us to establish the visualization research of space design.
