In many countries, bicycle sharing service has been integrated into the urban public transportation system. This is because bicycle sharing is seen as a good alternative for the environment. Bicycle sharing is particularly popular for a short trip in urban areas where traffic congestion and pollution from vehicles’ emission is a concern. In Malaysia, bicycle sharing service is relatively new. The primary objective of the study is to investigate public perceptions of the use of bicycle sharing. Data were collected through interview and secondary sources. The findings indicate that there are barriers that hinder the willingness of Malaysians to use bicycle sharing. Bicycle sharing has gained popularity across the world especially in developed countries. Bicycle sharing is a non-polluting and healthy mode of transportation. Compared to motorised mode of transportation, bicycle sharing is seen as a good alternative for the environment. Particularly in urban areas where pollution from vehicles’ emission is a concern. Bicycle sharing is relatively new to Malaysian citizens. Hence, the primary objective of the study is to examine public perceptions towards bicycle sharing. Primary and secondary data was collected and analysed. The findings indicate that the public do not really appreciate the concept of bicycle sharing. The primary objective of museum management in shaping of knowledge can be achieved by a communication of meaning through quality displays of the permanent collection or temporary exhibitions, the specimens of a continent or the interactive apparatus of science. This paper looks at research derived primarily from the museum scholars and experts with academics working in the field of visitor studies towards developing exhibits that facilitated visitor learning. These findings are recast the approach in order to offer an integrated framework for visitor behavior has implications for service management of the service encounter at the museum in Malaysia. Transportation is one of the key indicators used to measure the Quality of Life of people especially those living in the urban area. Many aspects of transportation are very significant as they have the power to directly influence our way of life in search for a better Quality of Life. Many Malaysians depend on private vehicle transportations to cater their daily travel needs which inevitably leads to an over infiltration of vehicles into the urban area. Automobile dependency has always been viewed as a potential threat to Malaysia’s urban areas, as it contributes to the increase in traffic congestion, higher accidents rate, inefficient usage of urban land, environmental pollution, adverse economic impacts, urban sprawling and reduces the overall quality of public transportation. All these negative impacts deteriorate the quality of life of urban dwellers. This chapter will discuss Malaysia's urban transportation in general, focusing on the struggle between private and public transportation usage and the impacts of automobile dependency towards the urban dwellers’ Quality of Life; as well as putting forward possible strategies and measures in an attempt to provide a balanced urban transportation system.

The growth of Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) in Malaysia is an evidence that their e-hailing services are well-accepted by consumers. The emergent of TNCs which is termed as industry’s “disruptive innovation” has changed the traditional way of commuting. This paper seeks to investigate how the recent business environment affects the quality of life and the behaviour of the drivers and consumers at large. The study employs a qualitative content analysis and data was collected from secondary sources. New rail systems developed in many cities have received significant attention from public transportation researchers globally and regionally. One such system is the Mass Rapid Transit system in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The quality of services’ perception has been captured through the questionnaire survey. Preliminary analysis showed that passengers were satisfied and indicated a great willingness to repeat usage. Likewise, dissatisfaction was only expressed on the feeder bus system services to and from the rail stations. This research explains the rationales for the disproportionately high satisfaction levels and betterment of the support infrastructure, including the feeder services. The paper illustrates how housing produced by the low income in Ogbere area of Ibadan is negotiated from the societal complex due to the inability of government to provide for them and low income housing not being attractive to the profit driven private sector. Quantitative and qualitative methods were adopted while using the lens of Lefebvre’s theory of space to examine the people, the process and the houses produced. The findings necessitate situating low income housing standards, quality and policy interventions in the social context to upgrade the quality of life in urban areas. This paper identifies components of satisfaction of public bus service in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.  Factor analysis is used to analyze 24 parameters satisfactions of public buses. This study succeeded in developing three dimensions of public bus service attributes, namely comfort, accessibility and safety and found that there is a slight difference in satisfaction between the minibus and bus transit, but users agreed that overcrowded and felt unsafe during the night were among the most significant attributes that affect their satisfaction. Transportation authorities can use these findings to enhance the quality of life of public transport users in the future. The impacts of coastal reclamation to the coastal community have usually been overlooked. This paper presents the impacts of coastal reclamation to the quality of life of Tanjung Tokong’s community. The questionnaire survey data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), and the interview was content analyzed. The results show only three variable, influenced quality of life the most. Flash flood and traffic congestion negatively correlated with quality of life while health positively correlated with quality of life. It recommended that the coastal reclamation process should consider any temporary and permanent negative impact to the community.Keywords: Coastal Areas; Coastal reclamation;Quality of life;Social Impacts.eISSN 2398-4279 © 2018. This study explores the practice of financial interdependence among Malay older people who live in the community in Malaysia. Eleven Malay older people participated in this qualitative study by an in-depth interview. The data was analyzed using six stages of the interpretative phenomenological analysis. Two main themes emerged from the interview transcripts are issues regarding living expenses and financial assistance. Financial interdependence is one of the most effective ways for the Malay older people in the community in Malaysia to adapt their retired status, to achieve maximum life satisfaction and productivity thereby improving their overall quality of life.Keywords: Financial interdependence, Older people, Quality of life, Interpretative phenomenological analysisISSN: 2398-4287© 2017.
