Transportation planning is an area of public policy that is increasingly recognized for having a significant impact on human health and well-being. Passengers all across the world are choosing bus transit as one of the most cost-effective ways of transportation. The number of passengers who use this mode of transportation is steadily increasing. According to statistics, the bus was India's most popular mode of transportation in 2014. A bus was viewed as a mode of transportation by 66 percent of families in rural areas and 62 percent of households in urban areas. With increased demand, there is a concern about efficiently organizing this service. Because a lack of planning can generate major problems in the real world, such as traffic jams and high operating expenses, it is a source of concern for corporate and government entities who provide this service. In this paper, a review on various bus transit planning approaches and stages and methodologies used in each stage of the customized bus planning strategy is presented. This study will assist bus service organizing entities, whether private or public, in efficiently organizing bus service

Tirtonadi is the largest bus station in Surakarta City. The departure line is devided into two lines, namely west line and east line. The west line serves buses to the west of Surakarta City. The number of buses that enter and leave the station every day causes bus queues. Modeling the queue system and analyzing the system performance measure aims to determine wether the bus service system is good or not. The queue system model is obtained by finding the distribution of arrival patterns and service patterns using the Bayesian method. This method is used because it combines the information from the current research and the prior information from the previous research. The queueing condition of the five lanes in the west line meets steady state conditions because the utility value is less than 1. The queue displant is First Come First Service (FCFS) with unlimited customers and unlimited calling sources. Based on the posterior distribution, the queue system of service bus is (GAMM/IG/1):(GD/∞/∞) for Solo-Jakarta-Bandung lane and Pedesaan lane, while for Solo-Purwokerto-Cilacap, Solo-Yogyakarta, and Solo-Semarang has the queue system (GAMM/GAMM/1):(GD/∞/∞). The queue system of service bus for each lane has good services based on the value of system performance measure.

Palabras clave: Transporte público, derecho a la ciudad, movilidad cotidiana, barrio precario, equidad de género AbstractThis thesis focuses on the daily mobility on public transportation of women residing in a precarious neighborhood of Cuenca. To achieve this, an analysis, through semi - structured interviews and social cartography on how they perceive their bus routes when crossing the city, was carried out. It was found that poor public transport  service produced extensive travel, which caused respondents to spend a lot of time to get around. Likewise, the perception of constant insecurity, harassment and sexual violence was a factor that defned their travels. Yet, they preferred bus service for its economy. Keywords: Public transport, right to the city, daily mobility, slum, gender equality.

The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) feeder bus service is a complementary public transport service provided to encourage ridership of MRT rail services in Malaysia. In brief, this feeder bus service plays a role in connecting people to and from MRT stations. The objective of this study is to determine the passenger volume generated at each MRT feeder bus stop location in the study area, and relate it to surrounding land use activities. Using the rule of thumb in public transportation systems, 200 m and 400 m radial buffers were identified as catchment areas of the bus stops. The key finding from this study is the relationship between volume of passenger and land use activities. This study concludes that land use activities influence MRT ridership, and that the presence of shelters or waiting poles is important to encourage ingress or egress.

The relaxed traveling, travel time saving, safety and privacy, and freedom and flexibility in traveling are significant characteristics of travel alternatives. Most of the students believe that traveling in a car gives them more freedom and flexibility in traveling. Traveling in a car is expensive, and students feel happy and relaxed while traveling on a university bus as compared to a car.
