Do Consumption Values In Heritage Food Play a Role in the Development of Behavioural Intentions?

This study explores the state of tourists' perception of Pahang heritage food. Data were obtained from 164 tourists through social media applications. The survey outcomes were encouraging, which showed a positive and significant influence between food consumption values and a domestic tourist's behavioral intentions to consume heritage foods. These findings will help Pahang's destination managers better understand how the promotion of heritage foods can be utilized to attract future domestic tourism. Marketers should increase familiarity with heritage foods, particularly among potential domestic tourists, as familiarity may increase emotional values. Factors Contributing to Depression and Cognitive Impairment Among Patients on Hemodialysis

Depression and cognitive impairment are the most common complications of patients on hemodialysis. The objective of this study is to identify contributing factors to depression and cognitive impairment in hemodialysis patients. This is a cross-sectional study involving 110 hemodialysis patients in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The samples were recruited through universal sampling. Patients were assessed with Beck Depression Inventory and Montreal Cognitive Assessment. This study found that 18.2% patients had depression and 48.2% had cognitive impairment. Factors associated with depression were unmarried status, low education level and cognitive impairment. Focus Group Discussions with Young People on Premarital Sex and its Consequences

Six focus group discussions were conducted among 59 young people to explore the possible factors of premarital sex, ex-nuptial pregnancy, and infant abandonment. Thematic analysis revealed three factors associated with the social crises; i)‘adjustment with the transition in life’- young people described living in a dilemma between the strong urge for more freedom in sexuality and adherence to religious teaching; ii)' conflict in relationships with parents and peers - receptive versus harsh and punitive parenting style and romantic peers relationship versus self-isolation, and iii)' lacking internal defences' - poor religiosity and lack of psychological skills including self-efficacy and self-control. Employers’ Perceptions in Hiring Decisions Pertaining to People with Disability

This study aims to analyse hotels employers’ perceptions in hiring decisions on people with disability (PWD). A total of 35 samples out of 72 employers among the 4 and 5-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur were selected based on the census sampling method. It is found that employer perceptions to hire PWDs are influenced by gender, type of disability, work performance concerns, and co-worker and guest concerns. Interestingly, employers are discovered to have more positive perceptions towards female PWDs. They are also interested to hire PWDs who meet the requirements of the job regardless of their disability. Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in Language Learning

This is a case study using an interactive digital game to teach grammar via Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL). The interactive game via MALL is aimed to ease TESL students' fear and trigger their interest in learning grammar. The game uses the Theory of Variation (Marton & Booth) to design the grammar exercises in the game. A survey questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were administered to gauge the students’ perceptions of using the game. The findings show that the game has somewhat improved students’ grammar knowledge. Common Psychological Disorder among Patients with Retroviral Disease

Major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) increases further morbidity and mortality of patients with retroviral disease (RVD). This study aimed to determine the prevalence and the contributing factors of MDD and GAD. The symptoms were screened using the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), MDD and GAD was diagnosed with the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI). 27(12.9%) patients had MDD and 28(13.0%) had GAD. The contributing factors include illicit drug use in the past, social support system, and CD4 count. Interventions for RVD patients should include counselling for those abusing drugs, increasing support system and adherence to treatment. Students’ Reflections on Dispositions in a Mathematics Classroom

This study investigated students' dispositions. It is a qualitative study that analyzes students' reflective journal entries. It captured students’ dispositions and described how the reflective activities influence their engagement mathematical problem-solving. The findings showed that the students considered the mathematical problems were challenging to them, but their positive dispositions kept them engaged in learning. Engagement through effort and thinking algebraically with teachers' guidance was the crucial first steps in problem-solving. Results from this study provide educators with a wealth of knowledge to develop learning dispositions that will encourage active thinking and engagement among students in mathematics classrooms. Neighborhood Park Visit Impacted Psychological Health in Reducing Stress

This study examines the relationship between residents' stress levels with their participation at the neighborhood park in Petaling Jaya. The information on stress level and neighborhood park usage pattern proceed by distributing a questionnaire survey set. The outcome of this study identifies the connection of stress result with the usage pattern at the neighborhood park. Future research is recommended to have more than one case study with different demographic pattern backgrounds to enhance the residents' mental wellbeing by better planning neighborhood parks as a stress reliever. Effects of Knowledge on Second-hand Smoke on Support for Tobacco Free Policy among University Students

This study aims to identify support for smoke-free policies among university students. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 406 students from three main campuses of a university in 2018. A standardized questionnaire was administered on sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, and habits towards tobacco use and tobacco influence. There was a significant association between knowledge on secondhand smoke (SHS) and the types of tobacco-free policies, support for smoke-free cars, smoke-free homes, and a peer support tobacco-free program. Knowledge of secondhand smoke, third-hand smoke, and tobacco-free policies increased support for tobacco-free campuses.
