The paper presents the results of testing radionuclide content in soil and clay samples on the surface mine "Zbegovi" in Donje Crniljevo, Serbia. The results of the study show that the activity of clay samples and surrounding soil derives mainly from natural radionuclides: 232Th, 238U and 40K. The radioactivity of the samples was determined by the gamma spectrometric method using HPGe detector with relative efficiency of 56.2%. The obtained results show that the tested samples can be used as material for brick and ceramic products, cosmetics as well as the fact that the tested clay deposit does not have a negative impact on humans, plants and animals.

The article is devoted to the study of the problems of integration of media objects in the existing urban space. As part of a new, creative and intellectual enrichment of the urban environment, the media architecture has a significant cultural, social and environmental impact on the urban environment. The aim of the work is to identify and classify the problems associated with the negative impact of media architecture objects on the environment in the context of public spaces, as well as the night city environment.

This work presents the evaluation of the environmental impact and compressive strength of Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB) stabilized with hydrated aerial lime and Portland cement. For this, 12 series of blocks stabilized with different proportions of lime and cement were manufactured and the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodology was used. After conducting these assays and simulations, it could be concluded that, using earth and sand typical of the city of Santa Fe (Argentina), stabilized with certain percentages of Portland cement between 5 and 10% in weight, CEB can be produced with sufficient levels of strength for them to be used in load-bearing walls, in this way minimizing the negative environmental impact associated with their manufacturing. It is also concluded that the stabilization with aerial lime does not increase the CEB’s compressive strength and, on the contrary, significantly increases their negative impact on the environment.

The purpose of the present chapter is to demonstrate how an econometric application supported by the use of simple software can augment an environmental nonprofit organization’s (ENPO) environmental performance. An ENPO, whose scope of operation is the protection of natural resources, usually deals with the problem of how to reduce its negative environmental impact without sacrificing the positive one resulting from its work. This chapter argues that the application of cointegration analysis on available time series environmental data can offer an indication for the policy decision-making in terms of such a contrast in impacts. If the time series are not cointegrated, then the ENPO can reduce its negative environmental impact without affecting the positive one. If they are cointegrated, then alternative policies have to be designated for dealing with the negative impact.

The problematic aspect of the underground structures construction in the urban area is the negative impact of construction on neighboring buildings and structures. To exclude emergency situations, it is required to control the interaction of the support of the underground structure and the surrounding soil mass by including additional regulatory elements, such as anchors, in the system. The article presents a new method for calculating the anchor-concrete support of underground structures and the results of monitoring of tensile forces in the bolting. It has been established that the tensile force has the highest constant value at the well mouth - jointing of the anchor rod, and then decrease exponentially.

Lack of awareness and knowledge of environmental protection, many people discard cooking oil waste. According to several studies, cooking oil waste can be processed into more valuable products through certain processes that require energy and material. Biodiesel is an example. Beside biodiesel, the production process also produces non-product output. Thus, efforts to utilize cooking oil waste into more valuable products also have a negative impact on the environment. This study aims to measure the environmental impact of biodiesel production from waste cooking oil and compare it if it is discharged to landfill without the recycling process. Measurement of environmental impacts is carried out using a Life Cycle Assessment. Measurement of the environmental impact of biodiesel processing from cooking oil waste is based on a process carried out at a research institute. The measurement results state that the disposal of cooking oil waste has an adverse effect on the ecotoxicity category. Whereas the processing of cooking oil waste into biodiesel has advantages in the categories of climate change, the formation of photochemical oxidants, fine dust, oil and gas depletion, and water pressure indicators. the level of eco efficiency from processing waste cooking oil to biodiesel produces a value close to one which means that the production process is affordable but not yet sustainable.

The rational planning of urban spatial distribution and development direction could benefit the urban economy, social environment and other aspects, as an essential part of urban planning. Since the Law of EIA promulgated in 2003, the scope of environmental impact assessment has been upgraded to a higher level of overall urban planning whereas the influence is not significant. In 2018, urban and rural planning function was merged into the Ministry of Natural Resources, from leading urban construction to serving the protection of urban natural resources. It is also a new and significant approach to analyse the rationality of urban spatial distribution and development direction from the perspective of environmental impact assessment. The purpose of Jianghua Yao autonomous county is to build an eco-tourism civilized city, which is representative in the selection of cities for environmental impact assessment. On the space structure of functional areas and the development direction to the indicator elements of Yao nationality autonomous county class was divided into 4 categories, 5 layers,15 index factors were selected to construct the environmental impact assessment index system. Using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to select the indexes weights assignment, then according to the evaluation criterion to evaluate it, we draws the analysis conclusion in the environment aspect. The planned urban spatial distribution and development direction of Jianghua Yao autonomous county from 2014 to 2020 are reasonable, have little negative impact on the environment, and are suitable for the green development of the city.

The main purpose of the article is to examine the compounds between economic results of agricultural holdings and their impact on the environment. The research was conducted on a group of 23 EU countries that have been members since at least 2004. The time scope of the analyses concerns the years 2004-2015. The study uses regression analysis based on panel data. It was found that the more favorable economic situation of the surveyed group of agricultural holdings is accompanied by a stronger negative impact on the environment. The strongest relative environmental impact (from the perspective of material pressure on the environment) was recorded for investments.

The environmental impact of the LLC «EVO» company in Voronezh was assessed and the process of processing mercury-containing waste was analyzed. The characteristics of storage devices for storage and storage of industrial waste are considered. Comprehensive environmental protection measures aimed at reducing the negative impact of mercury-containing wastes that emit mercury vapor on air and water are proposed.
