The article is devoted to the problem of using remote sensing data for studying and mapping archaeological sites in interdisciplinary research. The purpose of the experiments is to develop a methodology for searching and mapping archeological monuments based on the interpretation of aerospace images. The problem to be solved is formalized search and the procedure of selecting objects. The complex of tasks for ridentifying objects from images cannot be realated only to the field of decryption, it also deals with the field of information processing signals (computer vision), and this is where the great potential for continuing experiments is seen. In the process of implementing the tasks, the Detection Artefacts software package was developed, which is based on noise reduction, filtering, morphological analysis, binarization, etc. Its notable feature is the freedom of choice settings, the ability of setting parameters

O b j e c t i v e s. The task of improving the software package for detecting thermal anomalies based on meteorologicalsatellite data developed by the unitary enterprise "Geoinformation Systems" was solved.M e t h o d s. In the period from 2015 to the present, the work on practical testing and improvement of the software for natural fires detection has been carried out. For this purpose, satellite images of the territory of Belarus obtained from NOAA series spacecraft were used. Special attention was paid to the problem of improving the accuracy of determining the coordinates of fires and reducing the time required for initial data processing.Re s u l t s. A retrospective analysis of the main stages of improving the software for natural fires detection and obtained during practical tests generalized results are provided. The description of the web service developed on the basis of the software for detecting natural fires is presented.Co n c l u s i o n. The information can be useful for the specialists and researchers who are engaged in the detection of thermal anomalies (fires) using remote sensing data from meteorological satellites.

The article describes experience of using geographic information systems in archaeological research of the Brovarka river basin. This river is а part of surface waters of Pereiaslav region and it is located in the south-eastern part of the region. The study of sites in the region began in the middle of the XIX century. From this time until the end of the 1960s the research focus was concentrated only on the certain objects of the micro-region. During the next period (up to the early 1990s) the several field studies was conducted on the territory, that allows to accumulate many archaeological materials. Despite the aforementioned, yet the purposeful study of the territory was not carried out. In the early 2000s a generalization of information about archaeological sites in the micro-region and their further field survey was started. So, we have begun a comprehensive study of archaeological sites, lined up within the Brovarka river basin. The need to operate a large amount of diverse information and to attract a wide range of sources has forced us to use new approaches in the study of the past of the region: the use of geographic information systems, remote sensing data and GPS positioning. The main research focus was concentrated on the study of the ancient settlement systems. The study was carried out in the context of the implementation of following three areas: а records of archaeological sites, an analysis of the spatial characteristics of ancient settlement systems and use of remote sensing data for different research needs. The particular features and results of their implementation are proposed in this publication.

The paper describes the development of compression algorithms for hyperspectral aerospace images based on discrete orthogonal transformations for the purpose of subsequent compression in Earth remote sensing systems. As compression algorithms necessary to reduce the amount of transmitted information, it is proposed to use the developed compression methods based on Walsh-Hadamard transformations and discrete-cosine transformation. The paper considers a methodology for developing lossy and high-quality compression algorithms during recovery, taking into account which an adaptive algorithm for compressing hyperspectral AI and the generated quantization table has been developed. The conducted studies have shown that the proposed lossy algorithms have sufficient efficiency for use and can be applied when transmitting hyperspectral remote sensing data in conditions of limited buffer memory capacity and bandwidth of the communication channel.
