The effects of different temperatures (23?C and 8?C) on activity of corpora allata (CA) and dorsolateral (L1, L2) protocerebral neurosecretory neurons were investigated in Morimus funereus Mulsant (1863) larvae collected from a natural population during March. Activity of CA was revealed by monitoring of CA volume and cell number. Increase of CA volume after two day exposure to both temperatures was shown to be the result of increase in cell number. Activity of CA was higher at 23?C than 8?C. Activity of L1 and L2 neurosecretory neurons was inhibited at both temperatures. Neurosecretory neurons were more sensitive to temperature of 23?C than 8?C. It can be supposed that dorsolateral neurosecretory neurons synthesize neurohormones that affect CA activity, depending on environmental temperature.

Barnacles are very specialized Crustacea, with strongly reduced head and abdomen. Their nervous system is rather simple: the brain or supra-oesophageal ganglion (SG) is a small bilobed structure and the toracic ganglia are fused into a single ventral mass, the suboesophageal ganglion (VG). Neurosecretion was shown in barnacle nervous system by histochemical methods and numerous putative hormonal substances were extracted and tested. Recently six different types of dense-core granules were visualized in the median ocellar nerve of Balanus hameri and serotonin and FMRF-amide like substances were immunocytochemically detected in the nervous system of Balanus amphitrite. The aim of the present work is to localize and characterize at ultrastructural level, neurosecretory neuron cell bodies in the VG of Balanus amphitrite.Specimens of Balanus amphitrite were collected in the port of Genova. The central nervous system were Karnovsky fixed, osmium postfixed, ethanol dehydrated and Durcupan ACM embedded. Ultrathin sections were stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate. Ultrastructural observations were made on a Philips M 202 and Zeiss 109 T electron microscopy.

Abstract 222 coleopteran species and subspecies, belonging to 25 families, were found between 2014-2015 during faunal sampling in “Frumoasa” Site and its surroundings. Out of them, Carabus variolosus Fabricius, Lucanus cervus (Linnaeus), Osmoderma eremita (Scopoli), Cerambyx cerdo (Linnaeus), Morimus funereus Mulsant and Rosalia alpina (Linnaeus) are species of community importance, included in the Annex II of the Habitat Directive. In addition, several endemic or rare species/subspecies were collected: Carabus gigas gigas Creutzer, C. planicollis planicollis Küster, C. obsoletus carpathicus Palliardi, Poecilus szepligetii szepligetii (Csiki), Pterostichus findelii (Dejean) and P. pilosus wellensii (Drapiez).
