A series of gels with 3Al2O3•2SiO2 were prepared by Sol-gel method and heated at several temperatures for 2 h to synthesize Ti, Fe-doped mullite. The powers were characterized by differential thermal analysis (DSC-TG) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). Phase separation was promoted by doping both TiO2 and Fe2O3; with increasing the amount of dopant ions the formation temperature of Si-Al spinel decreased and the formation temperature of mullite increased by TiO2 doping but decreased by Fe2O3 doping. The formation temperature of pure mullite was about 1250-1350 °C.

Complex of cobalt(II) with sulfisoxazole (slfs) has been synthesized in 1 : 4 mole ratio of metal to ligands in methanol, the complex formula is [Co(slfs)3(H2O)3]SO4.nH2O. The electric conductivity of the complex in methanol correspond to 1:1 electrolyte. The thermal analysis indicates that complex contain some hydrates. Magnetic Susceptibility measurements show that the complex is paramagnetic with µeff = 4,60(9) BM. Infra red spectra indicates that the primary N-H group coordinated to the center ion, it is signed by a shift of primary N-H group absorption. UV-Vis spectrum appears one peak at λ= 515,5 nm (19.342 cm-1) due to transition peak of 4T1g (F) → 4T2g (P) (ν3) overlay to transition peak of 4T1g(F) → 4A2g(F) (ν2). The value of 10 Dq (Δo) that corresponds to transition 4T1g → 4T2g (n1) is 95,29 kJ.mol-1. Cyclic voltammograms have revealed quasi reversible. The complex probably is octahedral.   Keywords: cobalt(II), sulfisoxazole, complex, paramagnetic, octahedral

The research of adsorption of Cu2+ metal ion on dithizone-immobilized natural bentonite (DNB) had been carried out. The experiment was begun by the activation of natural bentonite with HCl 4 M and dithizone-immobilized on activated bentonite surface. This study included synthesis and characterization of dithizone-immobilized bentonite and its application in adsorption of Cu2+ metal ions. The type of interaction occurred in the adsorption was tested by sequential desorption. The result showed that dithizone successfully immobilized on activated natural bentonite (ANB). The optimum conditions for Cu2+ metal ions adsorption using dithizone-immobilized natural bentonite are at pH 5; 0.1 g mass of adsorbent, with interaction time 60 min, and the initial concentration of ion at 80 ppm. Kinetics and adsorption isotherm studies suggest that the capacity, of the dithizone-immobilized natural bentonite in adsorbing Cu2+ metal ion is significantly improved compared to activated natural bentonite. The adsorption of Cu2+ metal ions by activated natural bentonite was through several interactions dominated by electrostatic interaction (82%). Otherwise, the interaction of dithizone-immobilized natural bentonite with Cu2+ metal ions in the sequence were dominated by the mechanism of complex formation of (75%). The result shows that the immobilization of dithizone changes the type of electrostatic interaction into complex formation.

AbstractSingle-phase samples of T12Ba2CaCu2O8 and T12Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 have been prepared using a reliable and simple synthetic method. Samples were characterized by x-ray powder diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and four probe resistivity methods. The TcR=0 values for T12Ba2CaCu2O8 ranged from 100 to 105K, whereas those for T12Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 ranged from 96 to 107K. The relationship between the superconducting properties and the various preparation conditions are discussed.

A novel waterborne polyurethane (WPU) modified by tung oil was prepared with 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate, polyethylene glycol, dimethylol propinic acid, 1,4-butanedilo as main materials via acetone process. The structure of WPU molecule was characterized by FT-IR. Adhesive behavior for non-polar and/or low surface energy soft packing films was studied. Water resistance of films were evaluated by water contact angle and water uptake and thermal properties determined by thermal analysis instruments. The results show that the modified WPU films have good water and heat resistance. Both of modified WPUs or not have good adherence on BOPP films.
