This chapter addresses the essential nursing responsibility to ensure that adequate nutritional care is offered to all patients, whether in hospital or community-based settings. To provide appropriate nutritional care to patients or clients, nurses must have a good knowledge and understanding of the principles of human nutrition, and be able to deliver nutritional support that is informed by current clinical guidelines and up-to-date evidence, as well as to evaluate that care. Healthcare organizations have a duty to ensure that patients and clients receive high-quality nutritional care. The Council of Europe (2003) has published guidelines on food and nutritional care in hospitals, and a recent Europe-wide campaign has been launched to improve nutritional care in all types of care facility (Ljungqvist et al., 2010). A European strategy to address obesity has also been launched (Commission of the European Communities, 2007). In England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC, 2010), which regulates care settings, has set national standards concerning nutrition. The provision of high-quality nutritional care involves a range of services and requires a multidisciplinary team approach. As a nurse, your role within the multidisciplinary team is fundamental in ensuring the delivery of appropriate nutritional care. In the UK, this is clearly identified by the incorporation of ‘Nutrition and Fluid Management’ within the Essential Skills Clusters for pre-registration nursing education (Nursing and Midwifery Council, 2010). Human nutrition is the study of nutrients and their effect on health, and the processes by which individuals obtain nutrients and use them for growth, metabolism, and repair. The term ‘human nutrition’ therefore incorporates many aspects of behaviour and physiology. The way in which the body obtains, ingests, digests, absorbs, and metabolizes nutrients is described in core anatomy and physiology textbooks (for example, Marieb and Hoehn, 2010), and it is important that a good knowledge and understanding of these processes is gained before considering the nursing management of nutritional care. This chapter considers the principles of human nutrition that underpin the nursing management of nutritional care and focuses on the key nursing interventions that you should be able to provide with confidence. The amount and type of nutrients that a person obtains influences his or her ‘nutritional status’.

AbstractSeizure is a clinical syndrome characterized by an uncontrolled behavior in neonate. The main cause of seizure in neonate is HIE, central nervous system infection, intracranial hemorrhage, and metabolic disturbance. Seizure will lead to permanent brain damage. Identified sign, symptom and risk factor of seizure are very important in order to provide an accurate nursing management in neonate. Further negative impact of seizure is sequel or death. Considering the facts above, it is necessary to provide the latest nursing care and a high quality of care to neonate who is experiencing seizure.

Objective: To explore the effect of hospital nursing management based on informatization. Methods: 167 inpatients from different departments in our hospital from June 2020 to November 2019 were randomly selected and divided into control group and observation group.83 cases in the control group were treated with traditional nursing management mode; 87 cases in the observation group used modern nursing information management system for information-based nursing management, and then compared the two groups in terms of nursing management efficiency, patient basic nursing, ward management, specialized nursing and nursing satisfaction, so as to verify the clinical application effect of information-based nursing management. Results: After the application of information-based nursing management mode, the construction and application of information management system made the nursing management process more standardized and accurate. Therefore, the clinical nursing efficiency, basic nursing, ward management, specialized nursing and nursing satisfaction of the observation group were better than those of the control group. Conclusion: In the practice of hospital inpatient nursing management, the scientific use of information technology and information management system can significantly improve the efficiency of patient nursing management and nursing satisfaction, and play a key role in improving the prognosis of patients. Therefore, it is worth popularizing and applying in the whole hospital and even the national grass-roots hospitals.

With the increase of the incidence rate of digestive system diseases, digestive endoscopy has become an essential measure. The nursing quality of digestive endoscopy room will have a direct impact on the examination results and treatment effect, so improving the nursing quality of digestive endoscopy room has always been the focus of attention. In this paper, the smart electronic medical blockchain technology and hospital standardized nursing management mode are combined to develop the smart medical standardized nursing management mode. Firstly, 88 patients with digestive endoscopy in a hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the experimental subjects: 44 cases in the control group and 44 cases in the experimental group. The control group implemented the traditional management mode of digestive endoscopy room, and the experimental group implemented the standardized nursing management mode of smart medicine. The blood pressure level before and after nursing and the probability of adverse reactions in the process of nursing were counted. After nursing, the patients were asked to fill in the nursing satisfaction questionnaire, evaluate the nursing quality of nursing staff, and make statistics and comparison on the occurrence of safety events in digestive endoscopy room. After nursing, the systolic pressure drop of the experimental group was 125.36 ± 7.27 mmhg, diastolic pressure drop was 73.24 ± 4.21 mmhg, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 11.36%. The satisfaction rate of the experimental group was 15%, 29.55%, and 22.73% higher than that of the control group. The average scores of nursing skills, operation level, and examination results of nursing staff in the experimental group were 94.49, 95.12, and 95.89, respectively; the qualified rate of disinfection of digestive endoscopy room in the experimental group was 100%, the degree of cooperation between doctors and nurses was 100%, the timely rate of emergency measures was 95.45%, and the incidence of accidents was 0%. This shows that, under the standardized nursing of smart medicine, the blood pressure of patients is more stable, the incidence of adverse reactions is lower, the nursing satisfaction is higher, and the nursing quality of nursing staff and the safety of digestive endoscopy room are also improved.
