The light scattering property of a thin optical fibre is studied theoretically. Plane polarized electromagnetic waves with their E-vector and H-vector parallel to the fibre axis are considered to fall perpendicularly on the fibre. Selected maxima and minima in the scattered light patterns are found to be very sensitive to the fibre parameters. The results may be used as a sensitive quality control of the fibre radius or refractive index while the fibre is being drawn.

Quality control and classification of agricultural products is an important component of agricultural production and sales. Use MATLAB 2010 software with image processing technology to create the quality classification of the oranges (diameter, perimeter, and field) based on the fruits. Prior to the quality classification, collecting orange tree images (taking photos from scratch), and then drawing a scratchy image. Comparing the ratio between the orange fruit diameter, perimeter, pixel and actual size, the fruit of the fruit is compared with the results of the Jeju Citrus Commission. The comparisons of these results indicate that the orange diametre pixels represent the actual amount of orange in terms of more accurate than the other two pixels (perimeter and area). This will be used for further research. With the development of computer vision technologies, automatic sorting and quality control of agricultural products has been achieved, and computer vision systems have been widely used in various areas of agricultural and food production market segments, avoiding the high cost and low efficiency of traditional operations.
