This study investigated decision making in internally and externally motivated persons as they interacted in a competitive game of skill. Subjects were 36 internally and 36 externally scoring graduate and undergraduate psychology students. All possible pairings of internal and external subjects were involved in a competitive two-person game. The game of skill required participants to bid against each other to purchase tokens which were auctioned. The results indicated that internal subjects made decisions reflecting a greater expenditure of resources and time than external subjects.

The aim of this study is to examine how career maturity levels of high school students predict their career desicion-making difficulties according to their locus of control. The sample consisted of 562 (321 female, 241 male) students from 4 different High Schools affiliated with the ministry of national education in city center of Adana province. In the study, Career Decision Difficulties Questionnaire which was developed by Gati and Saka (2001) and adapted to Turkish by Bacanlı (2008), Rotter’s Internal and External Locus of Control Scale developed by Rotter (1966) and adapted to Turkish by Dağ (1991; 2002) and Career Maturity Scale developed by Kuzgun and Bacanlı (2005) were used. The pearson moment product correlation coefficient technique was used for the analysis of the relationship between variables Regression analysis was used for the power to predict career desicion making difficulties scores of career maturity of students with internal and external locus of control. According to the findings, career maturity predicts career desicion-making difficulties and its subscales. In addition, the level of career maturity of the students with internal locus of control has reached the level of career decision making difficulties more than the students with external locus of control. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin denetim odaklarına göre mesleki olgunluk düzeylerinin kariyer karar verme güçlüklerini ne kadar yordadığını incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu dört farklı anadolu lisesinde öğrenim gören 321’i kız ve 241’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 562 öğrenci oluşturmuştur.

The aim: To determine the influence of unhealthy neuroticism (the high level of personal neuroticism) on the properties of the decision-making process, to identify the differences in the decision-making process features of persons with high and low levels of neuroticism. Materials and methods: A comparative design was used with two contrasting groups, which differed in the level of neuroticism. Causal relationships were defined using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The methods «Diagnosis of the neurotic personality tendency” (L. Vasserman), “Diagnosis of decision-making features” (D. Myroshnyk, O. Savchenko), “Locus of control” (O. Ksenofontova) were used for diagnosis. Results: It was identified that individuals with a high level of neurotic personality tendency have exhibited less self-control in the decision-making process (p <0.01), have formed a pessimistic expectations of the ways in which decisions should be fulfilled (p <0.01). A high level of neurotic personality tendency has occurred mostly in students with a high level of external locus of control (p <0.01), a low assessment of self-competence (p <0.01), low internality in the field of interpersonal relations (p <0.05), unformed willingness to overcome difficulties (p <0.05). The level of neuroticism is an important factor of the peculiarities of decision-making process (self-control (p <0.001) and optimistic expectations (p <0.02)). The general level of internality has determined the level of neurotic personality tendency (p <0.02) Conclusions: Unhealthy neuroticism, which manifests itself in a high level of neurotic personality tendency, is a risk factor of mental health, and it prevents timely make appropriate decisions. The high level of external locus of control mediately (through increasing the level of neurotic personality tendency) affects the procedural and effective properties of the decision-making process.

Abstract. Locus of control is one of the personality characteristics possessed by humans. Locus of control can be divided into two, namely internal locus of control and external locus of control. Locus of control is a predictor of several other variables, such as learning achievement. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of locus of control with learning achievement. This research uses descriptive and correlational methods. The instrument filling is done online by using the google form application considering the increasing spread of COVID-19. Finally, as many as 36 students participated in filling this instrument. In this study, researchers used the Rotters Internal-External Locus of Control (IE Scale) inventory consisting of 29 items, of which there were 6 filler items, so that the total number of items that could be processed was 23 items, while to see learning achievement using the Grade Point Average (GPA) that researchers get from the Academic Information System (SIAKAD). Research findings show that locus of control has a strong negative relationship with student learning achievement. We advise students to have an internal locus of control while continuing to believe in God; The counselor is expected to be able to arrange an intervention program for students who have an external locus of control and have low learning achievement.

Rotter's I-E Scale was administered to a non-college population of males and females in 3 age groups: 5–15, 16–25, and 46–60. Internal locus of control expectations increased with age. A trend for males to be more internal in their beliefs was suggested.
