Physical activity is an important determinant of a healthy lifestyle. Regular participation in sports-related activities contributes to the maintenance of good psychophysiological and social health. Long-term physical activity has a positive impact on subjective well-being and can reduce stress. Karate is a specific physical activity which focuses on self-regulation and self-development; therefore, it may reduce impulsivity and improve self-control. Good self-control is also related to satisfaction with life and well-being. The presented study aimed to examine the possible intermediate impact of self-control and emotion regulation on the relationship between karate training and satisfaction with life. Fifty-eight karate practitioners and fifty-nine control subjects participated in the research. The Satisfaction With Life Scale and the Brief Self-Control Scale were applied in order to assess life satisfaction and the general level of self-control. The Emotion Regulation Questionnaire was used to assess suppression and reappraisal, both of which are distinct aspects of emotion regulation. The direct and indirect relationships between karate training and satisfaction with life were investigated using a linear regression model that included self-control, suppression and reappraisal as mediating variables. No direct effects of karate training on satisfaction with life were found, whereas karate training was indirectly associated with satisfaction with life via the indirect path that leads through self-control and reappraisal. This indicates that self-control and reappraisal fully mediate the impact of karate training on subjective well-being. Karate training can therefore play an important role in shaping volitional and personality characteristics, both of which contribute to increasing the well-being of trainees.

The general level of socio-economic development and the quality of life depend on the economic availability of food, i.e. the ability of the local population to buy products recommended by the Ministry of Health. Each family has the right to afford quality food for all household members. The local economic availability of food depends, first of all, on the income per capita in a particular region. The present research assessed the economic availability of food in the Republic of Buryatia using such indicators as food supplies, cash income per capita, household budget structure, and self-sufficiency in basic foodstuffs. The results were compared with the food situation in other regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the average Russian data.

The professional development of future specialists has to meet global and domestic standards. Cultural competence is essential for future professionals as it makes it easier to collaborate with foreign professionals, improve their competitiveness in the world labor market and increase the specialist’s ability to solve professional challenges. The study attempts to answer the questions about the importance of cultural competence development of non-philological students in the process of studying a foreign language and methodological approaches used in this process. The aim of the paper is to present the model of cultural competence formation of future non-philological specialties experts at the foreign languages classes and determine its main components and formation conditions. The study investigates how cultural competence development changes the value-based attitude towards future professional activity and promotes the interest in learning, personal and professional enrichment. Students of three Ukrainian higher educational institutions (from the first to third course) have taken part in the research. The research used conscious-comparative, audiolingual, and role-play methods. The study of the results, based on four criteria (cognitive, moral-axiological, communicative, cultural), showed that learners started to understand the necessity of cultural enrichment of disciplines. The research proved that the implementation of the given technique resulted in the improvement of students’ learning and cognitive activity and enhancement of the general level of training. The paper gives some recommendations for language teachers to organize the process of learning a language on a cultural basis.

Abstract Background: Living sexuality fully and without risk to one's health is an international priority. The youth age group has specific characteristics that make it a particularly vulnerable group for adverse consequences such as unwanted pregnancies or sexually transmitted infections. Health professionals are an important group to address this issue; however, to achieve a good result, sufficient knowledge is required to solve all the issues. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge of young university students studying toward a nursing or medical degree. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study of young medical and nursing students was conducted. The Sexuality and Contraceptive Knowledge Instrument scale was used to measure knowledge level. A bivariate analysis was conducted using the Mann–Whitney U test or the Kruskal–Wallis H test, depending on the number of categories of the independent variable. Finally, a multivariate analysis was conducted using a multiple linear regression model, establishing the level of knowledge as the dependent variable and all variables that obtained statistical significance in the bivariate analysis as predictors. Results: Participants had a good level of knowledge, with 77.9% answering 50% of the questions correctly. Before training, 34.15% of the participants did not pass 50% of the questions asked. This percentage decreased to 12.87% after receiving sexuality training during the university degrees. The main training gaps were found for the items on hormonal contraceptive methods. The bivariate analysis showed that female participants had significantly higher knowledge scores, as did those who had used a hormonal contraceptive method during the most recent intercourse or were aware of family planning centers. These variables maintained their significant effect at the multivariate level, obtaining two models with good explanatory power for participants of both university degrees. Conclusion: The general level of knowledge of the healthcare students was high and sufficient after receiving training during the university degree. The main training gap was found for items on hormonal contraceptive methods, which should be emphasized in future training programs.

Abstract Background Cancer is a type of disease defined by uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells, which can result in death. Globally, around 25 million people are surviving with it. The burden of cancer is growing in developing countries and it frequently comprises patient’s vitality. In addition, it has emotional, economical, physical and psychological burden on family, friends, significant others, community and other social resource. Objective To assess caregiver burden of cancer patients in Jimma medical center oncology unit, South west Ethiopia. Method An institutional based cross-sectional study design was employed. The study was done on 141 respondents using simple random sampling. A pretested semi structured interviewer administered questionnaire was used to collect the data. The collected data was entered in to EPI data version 3.1 then transferred to SPSS version 23 for data analysis. Multivariable logistic regression model was fitted, Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR) at 95% confidence interval and p-value <0.05 were estimated to determine statistically association between predictors and outcome variables. Results The data were collected from the total of 141 respondents with 100% response rate. The mean ±SD age of cancer patients and care givers were 46.4 ±12.406 and 32 ± 11.23 years, respectively. The general level of caregiver burden in this study was mild to moderate (71.6%) with ZBI total score of 30 and by using CBI114 (80.9%) had some burden. Caregivers whose their age is greater than 40 years were 4.01 times more likely have high burden than those age between 20-40 old age [AOR=4.01, 95%CI (1.58, 10.17)]. Conclusion The study disclosed a moderate level of caregiver burden among family caregivers.

The pandemic has had a major effect on engineering education, transforming both current and future teaching practice. The physical meetings between student and teacher have during the pandemic been replaced by online contact and recordings of lectures and demonstrations. In this paper, the focus is on computer aided design (CAD) teaching for first-year engineering students. CAD is a topic usually characterized by a close contact by student and teacher, with hands-on instruction at the computer using the CAD software. In the paper, the experiences and learnings from the rapid shift to on-line teaching in CAD are summarized and discussed, and learnings and takeaways for a redesign of future CAD teaching are discussed. Both the students’ learning and their mental wellbeing are evaluated. It is found that on a general level, the students were satisfied with the online teaching and rated it as better or equal to traditional teaching. However, there is still room for improvement, since some students found the situation stressful and pointed out the difficulty to ask questions online. The findings are based on a student survey, existing literature, and the authors own teaching practices during the pandemic.

This article firstly examines the artistic and commercial merits of The Vampire Lovers, which was adapted from the Sheridan Le Fanu novella Carmilla. The production of the film was subcontracted by James Carreras at Hammer to Fantale Films, a company established by Harry Fine, Michael Style and Tudor Gates. The article then proceeds by examining various different and competing artistic judgements that have been made about the film, and also the construction of its unusual dreamy atmosphere. It documents both its UK and US box-office performances and goes on to examine Hammer's post-1970 production strategy in more general terms and in relation to the overall financial performance of the company in the period 1967–72, just before and after The Vampire Lovers. Finally, it examines Hammer's receipt of the Queen's Award for Industry in 1968, the effect of its rolling production-line (or ‘pipeline’) model of film-making on the company's general level of profitability, and some of the consequences of Michael Carreras's assumption of managerial control at Hammer after 1970.

Abstract. The purpose of the research is to comprehensively assess the resource potential of agricultural organizations in the Kurgan region to form the trajectory of their development and determine the contribution to agricultural production in the region. Methods. The study was based on the use of statistical and econometric methods for collecting, processing, modeling data. It is based on the assessment of the use of the following functional components of the resource potential: land, material and technical, personnel, innovation and financial. At the same time, the dynamic assessment for each subspecies of the resource potential gives an idea of the trend in the volume and level of resource use, and the stochastic assessment – to identify the relationship between the indicators of resource investment and their return. Results. The presented assessment of the existing relationships between the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the resource potential and its subspecies indicate, on the one hand, an acute shortage of certain types of resources, and, on the other hand, an increasing intensity of their use without a proportional level of return. The study allows us to conclude that it is necessary to develop levers for managing the resource potential of agricultural organizations based on the symbiosis of the needs of agricultural producers and the territory in which they operate. Scientific novelty. The research methodology allows combining several methods of assessing (dynamic and stochastic) in achieving the final result, as well as assessing the elasticity between the general level of resource productivity of agricultural organizations and indicators of the efficiency of using the main types of resources. This approach makes it possible to form a sequence of actions to ensure an increase in the level of development and use of the resource potential of agricultural organizations.

Problem setting. At present, road traffic is one of the main elements of modern states. Using different types of vehicles, people have the opportunity to move faster, do freight, thereby facilitating their work in all areas of activity. This contributes to the development of economic activity, social activity and road infrastructure, but at the same time there are a number of negative consequences associated with traffic injuries, economic and social damage caused by road accidents. Today, about 7,000 people die in road accidents each year and nearly 4,000 are injured; every 12 minutes there is a car accident; almost every 1.5 hours a person dies. In Ukraine, the statistics of road accidents for the period from 01.01.2021 to 31.05.2021 amounted to 70774 – 22.2%. It is possible to reduce these indicators under the condition of introduction of the state program of the correct design of roads, and also increase of administrative responsibility for violation of traffic rules. And what do we see when we look at the statistics of the last five years? And the fact that accident statistics are really scary, and is constantly growing. Law enforcement officers are constantly publishing regular collections of data on road accidents in the country. The tables are full of red numbers, the color of which indicates the deterioration of basic safety indicators. Target of research is a comprehensive scientific study of administrative liability for violations of traffic legislation, its features, as well as improvement by amending legal acts will positively affect the development of transport – road complex of Ukraine and contribute to strengthening road safety as a component of national security. The main purpose of the study is to lay the groundwork for administrative liability for road safety offenses on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of scientific sources, generalization of legal material and law enforcement practice. The object of this work is public relations, which are formed in the process of ensuring administrative liability for violations of legislation in the field of road safety in modern conditions. Analysis of recent researches and publications. Issues of road safety in different volumes are reflected in studies conducted by: O. Bandurka, T. George, D. Medvedev, Yu. Piroshkova and others. At the general level, the concept of “road safety” as a component of public safety was studied by A. Basov, В. Glushkov, M. Inshin, O. Copan and others. These scientists analyzed the problem of improving the administrative and legal responsibility of road safety and proposed to improve measures that will ensure the safety of all road users. However, the relevance of this topic is due to the constant updating of Ukrainian legislation, based on the provisions of which is the rule-making regulation of this area of public relations. Article`s main body. The article defines the features of administrative responsibility for violation of road safety. The author considers changes in the legislation regulating administrative responsibility in the field of road safety. The analysis of the number of road traffic accidents (RTA) and their consequences over the past five years was also carried out. The study of this problem is relevant, since the analysis of static data on the number of road accidents indicates a low level of traffic safety and a high accident rate on highways. Conclusions and prospects for the development. Based on the above, we can conclude that the current legislation in the field of administrative liability for violations of road safety is quite extensive and provides for various types of administrative penalties aimed at saving lives and reducing socially dangerous accidents. Also, the legislative definition of the term “traffic” is not provided either in the Code of Administrative Offenses or in the Law of Ukraine “On Road Traffic”. I propose to define and legislate the concept of “road safety” as a set of factors and mechanisms that regulate legal relations, establish responsibility, describe the typical mechanisms and rules of conduct of all road users in the state.
