Abstract Intangible assets and knowledge are key drivers of today’s economy, called knowledge economy, as a consequence of globalisation process and information and communication technology development. Knowledge and intellectual capital became leading factors that provide basis for gaining superior performance and sustainable competitive advantage of firms in dynamic and uncertain business environments. Invisible goods based on knowledge are becoming more important in generating and successful managing businesses. The purpose of this research is to test the impact of human resources on creation of the firm or, in other words, to examine individual’s inclination toward becoming an entrepreneur in transition economy such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. While investigating the relationship between human resources and firm creation, additional social, economic and emotional factors are included in analysis. Proposed theoretical model is tested using logistic regression model to analyse a sample of 2.015 individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a participant in GEM project in 2014. Obtained results show that the amount of individual’s knowledge, skills and expertise and its capability to seek and recognize new entrepreneurial opportunities, considered as human resources owned by individual, increase probability to generate a firm in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beside human resources, certain economic and social factors, such as work status and social perception of entrepreneurship as an attractive profession, are important for firm creation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This article is used to examine the impact of HRMP to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) in organizations. The hypotheses that HRMPs influences SCA imply that control of distinctive processes of human resources management (HRM) in industrial companies implies distinct factors of SCA. As a result, new questionnaires were developed and disseminated to 50 companies (200 top and middle managers) in Jordan in a survey format. The collected data was subjected to several simple regression tests using an SPSS program. The research findings presented that different processes of HRM, depending on acquisition, recruitment, training, evaluation performance, and promotion. There has been a strong interest in competing to achieve the highest SCA. The implications of the findings were discussed and suggestions were made.

Continuing education goes hand in hand with the qualification of the targeted people, since this training is always at the service of the organization and the individual himself. Consequently, the aim therefore, of our work is to seek to what extent the GENIE program contributed to the improvement of learning through the integration of ICT. In fact, the objective of this program is to generalize the use of information and communication technologies in educational establishments and to qualify human resources in the matter. For this, we adopt the Visi-Tic model, developed by P.Coen and J. Schumacher (2006), which is used to assess the degree of penetration of an innovation. In addition, we designed and carried out a survey in the form of a questionnaire, with 52 teachers from different disciplines.

Information and communication technology ICT infrastructure is an essential foundation of the information society characterized by modernization and advance. ICT infrastructure consists of main five elements including physical resources, human resources, software, databases and networks and communication. The study aims at identifying the impact of the development of ICT infrastructure, which includes physical and human resources, software, databases and networks and communications, on the effectiveness of accounting information systems. To achieve the purposes of the study, a researcher has used a descriptive research methodology; a questionnaire has been distributed to the employees at various management and accounting positions in the bank. The study found that the developments of ICT infrastructure, consisting of physical and human resources, software, databases and networks and communications, affects extremely the effectiveness and security of accounting information systems.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of the Information and communication technology (ICT) on the competitiveness of the republics of former Yugoslavia (Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia) as tourism destinations. This paper relies on the correlation analysis and panel regression method. Regression analysis has examined the impact of the ICT on the competitiveness of the republics of Former Yugoslavia (Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia) as tourism destinations. The destination competitiveness is measured by international tourist arrivals and international tourism receipts, while the ICT is measured by the ICT Development Index (IDI). The results indicate that the IDI use has a significant impact on the number of international tourist arrivals and an indirect positive impact on the international tourism receipts. The originality of the research lies in the fact there are no previous studies about the impact of ICT on the competitiveness of the republics of former Yugoslavia as tourism destinations. This study contributes to a better understanding of the impact of ICT on the competitiveness of a tourism destination by linking the IDI with tourist arrivals and tourism revenues.

AbstractEducation plays a central role in today’s understanding of growth and development dynamics. However, its relationship with other factors is complex. This paper aims to investigate the effect of different forms of education on youth employability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is done by using the USAID MEASURE – BiH National Youth Survey. Research has shown that formal education and non-formal education through internship programmes, volunteering, paid jobs other than internships are significant predictors of youth employment status. The study also has several implications for academics and practitioners since it provides new insights into both employment patterns and practices in one transition economy but also calls for further analysis of the link between education, formal and non-formal, and youth employment.
