Alien invasive species at the Romanian Black Sea coast - Present and perspectives Using literature data and personal field observations we present an overview of aquatic animal alien invasive species at the Romanian Black Sea coast, including freshwater species encountered in this area. We discuss records, pathways of introduction, origin and impact on native communities for some of these alien invasive species. In perspective, we draw attention on the potential of other alien species to become invasive in the study area.

Humid subtropics of the Russian Black Sea coast are the recipient region for many invasive species of harmful organisms. At the beginning of the XXI century, 35 new species of dendrophilous insects were identified in the humid subtropical zone of Russia, 26 of which can be considered invasive: 17 species are new for Russia and 9 are new for the subtropical zone of the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. Special features of the invasive process among phytophages were studied using following parameters: taxonomic composition, donor regions, vectors and pathways of invasion, biotopic distribution of the species and invasion dynamics. During the period of 2000 2017, a decrease in the representatives of order Hemiptera and an increase in the representatives of order Lepidoptera has been recorded. In recent years, the largest number of invasive species has North American origin rather than East Asian, which was typical for the region over the previous one and a half centuries. The following invasion vectors were specified for the newly recorded species: unintentional importation with planting material, invasion with traffic flow, unintentional importation with goods of nonplant origin, independent migration. All invasive species of East Asian, American, and Australian origin are characterized by twostage invasion, namely arriving to Russia from the secondary invasive range in Europe. The maximum number of alien species has settled in the plantations of ornamental species (landscape ecosystems), and this trend is traditional for the region. The rate of invasive species on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus in the early XXI century was once in nine months, which is 7,4 times higher than in the early XX century.

Paper summarizes information on the diversity of microscopic algae of 10 lakes of the north-western Black Sea coast (Bile, Kahul, Kartal, Katlabukh, Kytai, Pysarske, Sasyk, Safyany and Yalpug). A total of 339 species belonging to 135 genera, 62 families, 30 orders, 10 classes, 7 divisions were identified. The richest divisions were Bacillariophyta (198) and Chlorophyta (62) and Cyanophyta (40). Representatives of Euglenophyta (18), Charophyta (15), Ochrophyta (5) and Dinophyta (1) were less diverse. In the studied lakes, 13 new species were found for the Danube lakes and four species are first cited for the water bodies of the North-Western Black Sea Coast and the territory of Ukraine. Among them Pinnularia fonticola Hustedt is new record to Europe. Genera Nitzschia Hassall (26), Navicula Bory (15), Сymbella C.Agardh (9), Tryblionella W.Sm. (9), Desmodesmus (F.Chodat) An, Friedl et E.Hegew.(9), Caloneis Cleve (8), Gomphonema (C.Agardh) Ehrenb. (8), Euglena Ehrenb. (7), Cosmarium Corda et Ralfs (7) and Oscillatoria Vaucher ex Gomont (7) formed the basis of the species composition of algae in studied lakes. Morphologically, 189 species are unicellular, 119 colonial and 31 multicellular algae. Of these, 157 species are known as motile and 182 as immotile forms. On different types of substrates different numbers of microalgae species were identified. 148 species grew epiphytically on macrophytes; on solid substrates, 42 species were revealed on concrete and 38 on stones. On the bottom, 110 species were found on silt and 41 on sand. In relation to the level of water mineralization in the lakes freshwater species dominated (281). They include 221 species of indifferents, 58 halophiles and 2 halophobes. Mesohalobes were represented by 52 species, six species are marine (polyhalobes). Lakes Yalpug (198 species), Kugurluy (198) and Katlabukh (192) were the richest in microalgae species.

Data on the susceptibility to insecticides of various structures in mosquito larvae of Aedes albopictus that is a vector of arboviral fevers are given. Diagnostic concentrations of insecticides for the detection of insecticide resistance in Ae. albopictus populations from different districts of the Russia Black Sea coast of the Caucasus are calculated.

Typical coastal elements of limans and lagoons are barriers, that separate limanic aquatories from a Seas. On limanic shores structure of the Black Sea sand barriers represented three longitudinal landscape “zones”: sea beach (“frontal”), dune-aeolian and limanic (“back of the barrier”). They closely interactive between themselves under influence of lithodynamical exchanges of sediment. General tendency of the barriers dynamics is displacement to Land direction.

A new species of the genus Cimmerites Jeannel, 1928, C. maximovitchi sp. nov., is described from the Akhunskaya Cave and Labirintovaya Cave, both located in the Akhun Karst Massif on the Black Sea Coast of the West Caucasus (Krasnodar Territory, Russia). The new species is rather isolated within the genus Cimmerites and occupies an intermediate position between species related to C. kryzhanovskii Belousov, 1998 and species close to C. vagabundus Belousov, 1998. Though both C. maximovitchi sp. nov. and C. kryzhanovskii are still known only from caves, these species are quite similar in their life form to other members of the genus which are all true endogean species.
