Este artículo ofrece una reflexión crítica sobre el estado del conocimiento en materia de alimentación y nutrición en Chile. Para ello se analiza la producción historiográfica y los tratamientos que se han hecho al tema desde la perspectiva del consumo, la cultura y la salud. Posteriormente se aborda el surgimiento de la ciencia de la nutrición y su lucha en contra de la mortalidad infantil y la desnutrición. Los enfoques transnacionales, actualmente en boga, permiten poner en valorlos esfuerzos realizados a nivel continental por los gobiernos e instituciones internacionales para implementar políticas de alimentación popular. ABSTRACT This article provides a critical reflection on the condition of knowledge on food and nutrition in Chile. For this it analyzed the historiographical production and the treatments that have been made from the perspective of the consumption, the culture and the health. Later there is approached the emergence of the science of nutrition and its fight against infant mortality and malnutrition. The transnational approaches currently in vogue, allow valuing the efforts at continental level by governments and international institutions to implement policies of popular food.

Se analizan los conflictos espaciales de dos humedales del departamento del Valle del Cauca entre mediados del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI, bajo un contexto de transformación producido por: 1) agentes sociales vinculados al agronegocio de la caña de azúcar, 2) el Estado y sus políticas neoliberales y, por último, 3) las comunidades locales que soportan el poder ejercido por los dos primeros. Se parte de la teoría de la producción social del espacio de Lefebvre para descubrir asimetrías en las relaciones de poder entre estos tres agentes. Los resultados muestran injusticias espaciales producto de ellas. De este modo, se aportan argumentos teóricos y empíricos como base de reflexión para las comunidades locales y la comunidad científica respecto a los estudios ambientales y conservación de humedales.<p><strong>Palabras clave:</strong> conflictos espaciales, relaciones de poder, producción social del espacio, humedales y agronegocio de la caña de azúcar</p><p>We analyze spatial conflicts in two wetlands in the Department of Valle del Cauca between the mid-20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. These conflicts developed within a context of transformation produced by: 1) social agents linked to sugarcane agribusiness; 2) the State and its neoliberal policies and 3) the local communities that resist the power exercised by the first two. We use Lefebvre's theory of social production of space to reveal asymmetries in the power relations between these three agents, and show spatial injustices produced by these asymmetries. Theoretical and empirical arguments are provided as a basis for critical reflection by local communities and the scientific community regarding environmental studies and wetland conservation.</p><strong>Keywords:</strong> social production of space, power, spatial conflicts, wetlands, sugar.

El presente artículo reúne los diferentes enfoques modernos y posmodernos sobre las formas de crecimiento urbano a partir de la producción de vivienda formal. De esta manera, se aborda un estudio de la ciudad según la mirada funcionalista (CIAM) que vincula a la ciudad como una máquina y una producción en serie. Además, se continúa reflexionando sobre la mirada humanista con la aparición de la escuela italiana, que reconoce a la ciudad como romántica, y más adelante, como desarrollo de estas dos primeras. Estos fundamentos teóricos del siglo XX posibilitan una reflexión crítica acerca de los aspectos urbanos más relevantes a la hora de producir ciudad en la actualidad.Palabras clave: Crecimiento urbano, teoría funcionalista, teoría humanista, producción de vivienda. AbstractThis article brings together the different modern and postmodern approaches to the forms of urban growth based on the production of formal housing. In this way, the study of the city is approached according to the functionalist perspective (CIAM) that links the city as a machine and a serial production. In addition, it continues reflecting on the humanist stance with the appearance of the Italian school, which recognizes the city as romantic, and later, as a development of the first two. These theoretical foundations of the twentieth century allow a critical reflection on the most relevant urban aspects when producing the city today.Keywords; Urban growth, functionalist theory, humanist theory, housing production.
