The research has been done using geoelectric resistivity method to estimate the volume of Manganese (Mn) carrier rock in Empol sub-village, Central Sekotong Village, West Lombok NTB. Measurements was conducted with the Wenner configuration using a Resistivity Meter G-Sound GL - 4100. Data was modeled and calculated using three software, there are Res2Dinv 3.5, Surfer 10, and Rockwork 15. The rocks that regarded as carrier mangaan is pyrolusite manganese (Mn02). The description and distribution of MnO2 can be determined from the results of 2-dimension modeling using Res2Dinv. Mn02 was detected in almost all resistivity line with value around 0,023 m up to 9,8 m. From the 3-dimension visualization processed using RockWorks 15 software, we obtained volume of pirolusit about 38,199 m3 of area 160,000 m2 and 100 m of thickness.

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Jember located in Sumbersari District with lithological conditions in the form of volcanic rocks, lithosol soils, and regosol soils that are capable of absorbing water and potentially as aquifers. In point of fact, in the campus zona of the University of Jember including in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, there is always a shortage of freshwater for various academic and non-academic activities. Therefore, research needs to be conducted to assess the lithology of subsurface structures in the FMIPA zone so that the depth of groundwater layers and aquifer layers can be determined. The study was conducted using the Schlumberger array geoelectric resistivity method at 5 VES points. The results obtained in the form of resistivity log curves can be seen that at the five points VES has lithology in the form of clay, gravel, sandstone, and groundwater layer. Each VES point was identified the groundwater layer and some of them were identified as aquifers. The aquifer with the greatest thickness is found at point VES 2, which is to the west of the Baitul Ilmi Mosque, so it is recommended as the location of a new well. Keywords: lithology, aquifers, geoelectric resistivity method, groundwater.

Electrical resistivity method employing the Schlumberger array was used to occupy forty four (44) vertical electrical sounding points in Lapai town with the aim of determining the depth to aquifers, aquifer thicknesses and aquifer protective capacity. The G41 Geotron resistivity meter was used in obtaining the apparent resistivity data which was processed using Interpex 1XD resistivity interpretation software. The results revealed four lithologic sections which include top lateritic soil, sandy clay, fractured basement and fresh basement. Both confined and unconfined aquifers were identified within the area, with four classes of aquifer proactive capacities as high, moderate, weak and poor. While the aquifer at VES 20 was highly protected, twenty other aquifers were moderately protected, eight others had weak protection and fifteen aquifers were poorly protected. The aquifers were generally of good thicknesses and at varying reasonable depths, making them good reservoirs of water in appreciable quantity. The average aquifer thickness was estimated to be 48.36m while the average depth to aquifers was estimated to be 56.68m.

THE MAPPING OF GROUNDWATER AQUIFERS AT THE RINGROAD MALENDENG VILLAGE BY USING GEOELECTRIC RESISTIVITY METHOD ABSTRACT Geoelectric is a geophysical method that is utilized in natural subsurface exploration. The working principle of geoelectric method is to study the flow of electricity in the earth and how to detect them in the earth's surface. This study aims to map the aquifer Groundwater at the Ringroad Malendeng village based resistivity of the subsurface rocks. The study consisted of four points on 1-sounding track with the distance of each point 40 meters. Exploration results were processed using software IP2WIN to view data subsurface layering based on the value of the resistivity (2D) and point - the point of the presence of Groundwater aquifers. The results showed that the aquifer Groundwater is the area near the river is at point 4 which has a low resistivity value of less than 123 Ωm. The demand of fresh water to develop of life community is very important, where almost all construction activities is required a water such as irrigating rice fields, building infrastructure, and to daily consumption. To obtain a good quality of groundwater, several parameter must be specified such as the depth of groundwater, thickness of the source, and resistivity value of rock. In this case, we try to applied Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) resistivity method with Schlumberger configuration on one of Pamsimas Project to answer that parameter. VES Resistivity method is one of the active methods in geophysical study based on electrical properties of the subsurface rock by injecting electric current (I) into the earth and record the potential difference (?V) produced to the surface. From the results of current and potential difference measurements for each electrode spacing (AB/2) different then be lowered resistivity variations in the value of each layer below the measuring point (sounding points). After the acquisition on 3 points at Pandansari Village (PS-01, PS-02, PS-03), we get the result on PS-01, the water layer is indicated on the depth 60-80 meters with resistivity values equal than 36.7-50 ?m. On PS-02, the water layer is indicated on the depth 50-100 meters with resistivity values equal than 18.7-40 ?m. On PS-03, the water layer is indicated on the depth 30-60 meters with resistivity values equal than 52.8-70 ?m. Afterthat, we run 2D-pseudosection to know the distribution of groundwater layer in subsurface and get the thickness of groundwater is 20-50 meter with depth 40-80 meter. Based on this result, the PS-01 is the best point to make a well-exploitation on South Pandansari Pamsimas Project.

An investigation using electrical resistivity method was conducted around a solid waste dumpsite at Nsukka in Nsukka L.G.A of Enugu State, Nigeria to investigate the level of groundwater contamination. Electrical Sounding (VES) and 2D resistivity imaging were used with a digital read out resistivity meter (ABEM SAS 1000) to acquire data in the area. A total of eight (8) sounding and six (6) 2D resistivity imagings were carried out in the area. A contaminant leachate plume was delineated in 2D resistivity sections as low resistivity zones while the VES shows the depth of aquifer. In 2D pseudosections where bluish colours with low resistivities (less than 20.80Ωm) with the depth ranging from 1.28m to 17.1m in the Line 1 and 2 are seen as contaminated zones. The rest of the lines are not contaminated because of their high resistivities (greater than 20.80Ωm). The result of the electrical resistivity survey also showed 4 - 5 layers geo-electric sections and an AA and AK type sounding curves. The VES result shows that VES 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B which are carried out on line 1 & 2 of the wenner lines showed signs of contamination with low resistivity values less than 20.80Ωm complementing the wenner results. The contamination has not yet got to where the aquifer is located on the lines. Since the depth to the aquifer ranges from 30.26m to 155.43m while maximum depth of contamination is 17.1m. It is believed that the leachate has not percolated down to the aquiferous zones as such aquifers are presumed to be free.
