The article proposed that the green seeing ratio should be introduced in high density planning and design of residential area in China, pointing out that the green seeing ratio is a clear, effective index of strong operational in visual ecological design. It is necessary and feasible that the green seeing ratio as a evaluation index in the planning and construction of high density urban residential area in China. Advocates to take a combination of centralized and decentralized groups-residential areas and other ways of planning that by reducing the area of road, natural green details, take the tortuous roads and other methods can effectively improve the green seeing ratio. Some guidelines being followed in the building layout, open space design, road shape, plant greening in the detail design can effectively improve the green seeing ratio of high density residential area.

Green spaces have benefits but may also increase the risk of allergic disease. This study examined the association between the first occurrence of asthma and greenness exposure in children and teenagers. We conducted a 1:1 matched case-control study matched by sex, age, and the first diagnosis year with 7040 eligible subjects from a systematic sampling cohort database in Taiwan from 2001 to 2013. A normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) value ≥0.4 was used as the criterion to determine the green space. The green cover images were then transformed to the green coverage rate in the township surrounding the residential areas of the asthma and control subjects. Conditional logistic regression analyses demonstrated that a significantly increased risk of asthma in preschool children was associated with the surrounding greenness after adjusting for urbanization level, frequency of healthcare provider visits, mean township family income, CO, NOx, and PM2.5. The risk of asthma occurrence increased significantly with increasing greenness exposure (p-trend < 0.05). Nevertheless, exposure to the highest greenness levels (81–100%) was not associated with a significantly higher risk of asthma occurrence than was exposure to the lowest values (0–20%) of greenness. This study suggests that green space design should consider more effective methods of reducing the allergy impact.

News about climate change in the phenomenon of Global Warming worth seriuos considerations. Although these events are difficult to imagine by rural communities, in fact the phenomenon has resulted in farmers experiencing crop failure and can hardly predict cropping time. Apart from this phenomenon, environmental problems also occur at the foot of Mount Merapi, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Illegal sand mining in residential areas has resulted in a shrinking of the plant population and impared the land use, resulting in a decrease both in the groundwater and surface water level. Environmental damage starts from the split of people’s perspectives as a result of the emerging separations between humanism and ecology, knowledge and values, and the body and spirituality. Pencak silat, as an indigenous Indonesian martial art that is subject to harmony between humans and the natural environment on which they live, can arise the awareness of local people to reconsider habits that are harmful both to the environment and nature. Integrated Space Design as the aesthetic manifestation of Eco Art, is an artwork created to address environmental problems that occur in the foot area of Mount Merapi namely by creating a space that bridges the interactions between humans, between humans and their artificial environment, and between humans and their surrounding nature, by using bamboo plants as its main media, and silat spirituality as an inspiration in order to sustain the living power of the local community, both ecologically and spiritually.
