Resumen Mediante el presente documento, se desea mostrar un modelo de solución tecnológica para contrarrestar la obsolescencia en equipos de cómputo, a través de la medición del desempeño de los sistemas operativos de Linux y Windows en cada uno de los computadores disponibles; para obtener un mejor rendimiento y lograr el montaje de pequeñas redes de cómputo, como aporte en los procesos de inclusión digital de la región. El objetivo del proyecto se centra en evaluar los equipos con diferentes sistemas operativos y comprobar el rendimiento de cada uno, para observar cuál de ellos tiene mejor rendimiento, que implique la buena utilización de equipos con altos grados de obsolescencia. Abstract Through this document, you want to display a model of technological solution to counteract the obsolescence of computer equipment through the measurement of the performance of Linux operating systems and Windows on each of the machines available, to obtain better their performance and achieve assembly of small computer networks, and contribute in the process of digital inclusion in the region. The project's objective is to analyze the computers with different operating systems and verify the performance of each, to see which one has better performance, involving the proper use of equipment with high degrees of obsolescence. A new local area network (LAN) concept designed for educational purposes is proposed based upon the standard RS232 protocol. The concept enables students to gain hands-on experience of all seven open system interconnection (OSI) layers. The proposed approach to teaching computer networks has proved very popular with students. At the same time students' comprehension of basic OSI concepts has improved considerably.

The advancement of technology development makes it easier to find and share any information using computer networks. Computer networks have been widely applied in homes and offices. The ease of exchanging data on the network makes the availability of computer networks and information security are vulnerable to attacks by threats. On a computer network, the device which has the vulnerability is a router. A router is the outermost device that connects the Local Area Network (LAN) to the internet so that it can be easily attacked by irresponsible parties. The Mikrotik router is a product that is widely used as a gateway router that connects LANs and the Internet. There are so many tools that can be used to carry out attacks on Mikrotik routers such as Hping3 (DoS), Hydra (Brute-Force), and Exploitation Script (Winbox Exploitation). To find out the security loop in Mikrotik routers, this study uses penetration testing methods and attack techniques such as Winbox Exploit, Brute-force, and DoS. After knowing the security gap, the next step is to provide and implementation recommendations so that similar attacks do not occur any more in the future.

Abstract: The use of computer networks at this time has proven to be a very reliable means of communication and source of information. Government agencies, offices are now using the network as a medium for disseminating information. At present, in the implementation of computer networks, it is very necessary for management to optimize the network itself. Therefore it is necessary to do QoS (Quality of Service) Analysis, in order to get optimal network. QoS (Quality of Service) is a technology that can be applied in computer networks to provide optimal services for network users. With the existence of QoS (Quality of Service) allows network administrators to be able to perform bandwidth management to handle various effects due to congestion (congestion) in packet flow traffic in the network. In performing QoS (Quality of Service), a device that can do bandwidth management to the network is built. Mikrotik Routerboard750 is a network device using Linux-based MicroticOS that can be used in the application of QoS (Quality of Service). Keywords: Computer Network, QoS (Quality of Service), Mikrotik Routerboard750  Abstrak: Penggunaan Jaringan komputer pada saat ini telah terbukti sebagai sarana komunikasi dan sumber informasi yang sangat diandalkan. Saat ini dalam implementasinya jaringan komputer sangat butuh dilakukan manajemen guna optimalimalisasi jaringan itu sendiri. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan Analasis QoS (Quality of Service), guna mendapatkan jaringan yang optimal. QoS (Quality of Service) merupakan teknologi yang dapat diterapkan dalam jaringan komputer guna memberikan layanan yang optimal bagi para pengguna jaringan. Dengan adanya QoS (Quality of Service) memungkinkan administrator jaringan untuk dapat melakukan manajemen bandwidth guna menangani berbagai efek akibat terjadinya kemacetan (congestion) pada lalu lintas aliran paket di dalam jaringan. Dalam melakukan QoS (Quality of Service) dibutauhan sebuah perangkat yang dapat melakukan manajemen bandwidth terhadap jaringan. Computer networks today are a much needed service. Computer networks enable the shared use of data, software and tools. So that the working group can be communicate more effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine the existing QoS in Surya Asih Hospital and analyze the deficiencies. (Bahasa: Hospital is Rumah Sakit (RS)) In this research started from collecting data that exist in location either that support hardware or connection internet RS Surya Asih have used Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) network service. WLAN is a network where can be exchanged data and resources between computers in one building. To know the performance of WLAN network (Wireless Local Area Network In RS Surya Asih, it should be done a measurement analysis of network performance parameters QoS (Quality of Services) is the ability to guarantee the delivery of important data flow Analysis of the performance of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) Surya Asih stressed the process of monitoring and measuring network parameters on the network infrastructure such as access speed and transmission capacity, from the point of delivery to the point of receiver that became the demands, the parameters used Bandwidth, Throughput, Delay and Packet Loss. Superior LAN on RS Surya Asih has reliability sufficient maintenance and good network availability Analysis of network performance is seen through Wireshark, Uptime and Downtime results are not bad, The availability of complete devices and fulfilled according to reliability and maintenance is not difficult. QoS parameter test results that bandwidth management shows the use of more bandwidth and evenly distributed to every user of RS Surya Asih Pringsewu network.

Currently, distance learning is increasing its application in Mexican Universities; despite that it is not enough to satisfy the demand of higher education in Mexico. This paper presents a comparative analysis of undergraduate student performance in two systems: face-to-face and On-Line education. This analysis was realized with two different courses: Local area network and Interconnectivity. These two courses are part of the Computer Engineering curricula. The results show two important issues: the students are more participative and the team work is improved in the on-line class. The original idea of this work was to quantitatively evaluate face to face and On-line educational systems applied in computer networks. Finally they could not be compared in that manner. Both systems are options that the students have, and according to their profile they can choose the most convenient alternative. Finally, the Internet is a tool, it does not give better or worse education by itself, it has some advan-tages/disadvantages that should be taken into account when an On-Line course is designed.

ICMPv6 is the newest version of internet control message protocol, whose main purpose is to send error message indicating packet processing failure. It is know that ICMPv6 is technologically vulnerable. One of those vulnerabilities is the ICMPv6 RA flooding vulnerability, which can lead to systems in Local Area Network slow down or full stop. This paper will discuss Windows (XP, 7, 8.1) and Linux Ubuntu 14 operating systems resistance to RA flooding attack research and countermeasures to minimize this vulnerability. ICMPv6 yra naujausios versijos interneto kontrolės žinučių protokolas, kurio pagrindinis tikslas pranešti apie paketų apdorojimo klaidas IPv6 tinklo mazgams. Analizuojant ICMPv6 protokolą nustatyta, jog šis protokolas yra technologiškai pažeidžiamas. Vienas iš pažeidžiamumų yra ICMPv6 maršrutizatoriaus skelbimo žinučių (RA) atsisakymo aptarnauti pažeidžiamumas, kuris leidžia sulėtinti arba visiškai sutrikdyti operacinių sistemų darbą kompiuteriuose, esančiuose vietiniame tinkle. Straipsnyje aprašomas Windows (XP, 7, 8.1) ir Linux Ubuntu tipų operacinių sistemų atsparumo ICMPv6 protokolo RA žinučių atsisakymo aptarnauti atakai tyrimas. Tyrimo metu nustatytas pasirinktų operacinių sistemų atsparumas RA žinučių atsisakymo aptarnauti atakai, esant skirtingiems techninės įrangos resursams. Straipsnyje taip pat pateiktos prevencinės priemonės ICMPv6 RA žinučių atsisakymo aptarnauti pažeidžiamumui šalinti arba minimizuoti.

This report focusses on the planning and realization of an interdisciplinary local area network (LAN) for medical research at the University of Heidelberg. After a detailed requirements analysis, several networks were evaluated by means of a test installation, and a cost-performance analysis was carried out. At present, the LAN connects 45 (IBM-compatible) PCs, several heterogeneous mainframes (IBM, DEC and Siemens) and provides access to the public X.25 network and to wide-area networks for research (EARN, BITNET). The network supports application software that is frequently needed in medical research (word processing, statistics, graphics, literature databases and services, etc.). Compliance with existing “official” (e.g., IEEE 802.3) and “de facto” standards (e.g., PostScript) was considered to be extremely important for the selection of both hardware and software. Customized programs were developed to improve access control, user interface and on-line help. Wide acceptance of the LAN was achieved through extensive education and maintenance facilities, e.g., teaching courses, customized manuals and a hotline service. Since requirements of clinical routine differ substantially from medical research needs, two separate networks (with a gateway in between) are proposed as a solution to optimally satisfy the users’ demands.
