A lot of communication are developed and advanced with different and heterogeneous communication techniques by integration of wireless and wire connection. Conventional technology is mainly focus on information technology based on computer techniques in the field of industry, manufacture and automation fields. It consists of individual skill and technique. As new technologies are developed and enhanced with conventional techniques, a lot of new application is emerged and merged with previous mechanism and skills. The representative application is internet of things services and applications. Internet of things is breakthrough technologies and one of the innovation industries which are called 4 generation industry revolution. Many different types of object and devices are embedded in sensor node. They are inter-connected with optimized open system interconnection protocol over internet, wireless and wire medium. Most of communication is fully inter-connected with conventional techniques at point to point and end to application in general. Most of information in internet of things is weak against attack. This may induce vulnerable features to unauthorized and outside attacker over internet protocol, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and so forth. As high and low efficient equipment are merged into heterogeneous infrastructure, IoT communication surroundings has become more complex, Due to limited resources in IoT such as small memory, low power and computing power, IoT devices are vulnerable and disclosed with security problems. In this chapter, we analyzed security challenges and threats based on smart home network under IoT service.

Open knowledge platform can provide a purified knowledge base. Thus, we build a platform for several application areas in a cloud computing that supports APIs for various data based on a knowledge utilization model. The goal of this platform is to maximize the utilization of the knowledge base. In order to achieve this goal, we designed the structure of this platform as an open knowledge platform. The targets of the design are to maximize the utilization of data linkage, to expand it to national common knowledge and to increase its usability by providing services with knowledge graphs. In order to design the platform we identified users, information sources, and infrastructures. In the process, we found it is crucial to specify roles and services to the users of the platform. The requirements are induced from a utilization model and scenario of the service based on the knowledge graph. With the service scenario, stakeholders of the platform started narrow down function modules needed to support the service. One of the modules is a national common knowledge in the knowledge base, which provide essential connected knowledge to support solving regional problems of government such as earthquake, flooding. To increase the usability of data scattered by departments and agencies, data linkage, and knowledge between fragmented data sets is included in this platform.  Subsequently, we designed modules to support the effective utilization of this knowledge information. Also, we found that a cloud infrastructure instead of in-house hardware and software could provide flexible and compatible services for the platform. Moreover, the cloud system has advantages on big data analysis and distributed system interconnection. Utilization model and scenario-based process modeling provide a systematic approach to design an open knowledge platform that supports many required components enabling interoperability, compatibility, and connectivity among other knowledge bases..

The current article presents the design, implementation, validation, and use of a Computer-Aided Control System Design (CACSD) toolbox for nonlinear and hybrid system uncertainty modeling, simulation, and control using μ synthesis. Remarkable features include generalization of classical system interconnection operations to nonlinear and hybrid systems, automatic computation of equilibrium points for nonlinear systems, and optimization of least conservative uncertainty bounds, with direct applicability for μ synthesis. A unified approach is presented for the step-down (buck), step-up (boost), and single-ended primary-inductor (SEPIC) converters to showcase the use and flexibility of the toolbox. Robust controllers were computed by minimization of the H∞ norm of the augmented performance systems, encompassing a wide range of uncertainty types, and have been designed using the well-known mixed-sensitivity closed loop shaping μ synthesis method.

The power system interconnection between Northeast Asian countries has been discussed since 2000 but has not been realized to date due to various obstacles. This paper specifies the expected future energy policy, long-term energy supply plan, and necessity of power interconnection from the Korean viewpoint, including the climate change agreement. There are very many interconnection scenarios presented by various institutes in NEA countries now. These studies contain the overall preliminary feasibility results but do not consider the environmental effects, energy security, and market reforms. Do these existing studies show how we could interconnect specific countries? This paper discusses the trading potentials for green energy utilization between countries and some obstacles to be removed to promote the energy interconnection projects from technical, economic, marketable, and energy security standpoints. Especially, energy security in terms of politics, as well as vulnerability characteristics of renewable energy, could cause the interconnected system blackouts. These could be a serious obstacle to realization and continuous stable operation of these interconnection projects. Finally, this paper will specify the future directions and possible scenarios for power system interconnection by integrating these issues comprehensively from Korea's perspective.

This paper examines, summarizes, and updates the study of a strategy for the Northeast Asia Power System Interconnection conducted by the Asian Development Bank. It presents independent reviews and assessments by various stakeholders from Japan, Mongolia, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and the Russian Federation together with additional analysis by experts from the private and public sectors, academe, and international research and development institutions. It also calls for further discussions, studies, and activities in the development of the vast renewable energy potential of Mongolia’s South Gobi. Specific integrated investment project approaches for solar and wind power development and two cross-border transmission links in the region are proposed.
