This paper is based on a collection of 220 Ptiliidae made by M.E. Bacchus of the Coleoptera Section of the Natural History Museum, London (NHM), and others, in Sabah (Borneo) 28 August – 7 November 1977. Ten new species are described and figured: Sindosium bacchusi sp. n., Dipentium latum sp. n., Bambara pumilio sp. n. Baeocrara minima sp. n., Acrotrichis agricola sp. n., Acrotrichis bubalus sp. n., Acrotrichis irregularis sp. n., Acrotrichis kinabaluensis sp. n., Acrotrichis subagricola sp. n. and Acrotrichis telupidensis sp. n., and new records and information provided for Bambara frosti Dybas and Acrotrichis britteni Johnson.

This paper is based on a collection of Ptiliidae made by W.C. Block in Uganda and Kenya, 1964–1965, and donated to the Natural History Museum, London in 1978. A new genus Nelloptodes gen. n., and nine new species are described and figured: Bambara fragilis sp. n., Bambara lyrae sp. n., Nelloptodes blocki sp. n., Nelloptodes globulus sp. n., Nelloptodes gretae sp. n., Nelloptodes keitai sp. n., Ptinella katyae sp. n., Ptinella mpanga sp. n., Ptinella pygmaea sp. n., and new records and information provided for Pitilium pernix Darby, Bambara frosti Dybas, Bambara gabela Darby, Bambara magnifica Darby, Africoptilium marginatum Johnson, Fenestellidium kakamegaense Grebennikov, Acrotrichis africana Johnson, Acrotrichis alluaudi Johnson and Acrotrichis superba Johnson.

This paper is based on three collections of Ptiliidae from Sarawak totalling more than 2000 specimens made by staff and affiliates of the Natural History Museum, London, between March–July 1978. Ptiliidae collected in Africa (Ivory Coast, Mozambique, São Tomé, Sierra Leone) 2015–2017 under the auspices of the African Natural History Research Trust and the Natural History Museum, London, are determined to 24 species, 9 of which are new to science: Actidium loma sp. n., Actidium milesi sp. n., Actidium takanoi sp. n., Actidium acutum sp. n., Erro goffi sp. n., Ptilium maputense sp. n., Cissidium aristophanousi Darby (in a separate paper in press), Ptinella clio sp. n., and Ptinella euterpe sp. n.. New records are provided for Ptenidium nitidum Heer, Bambara frosti Dybas, Bambara magnifica Darby, Bambara joannis Vuillet, Ptiliola semitaria Darby, Nephanes marchali (Vuillet), Nephanes plurijugosus Darby, Nephanes titan (Newman), Acrotrichis africana Johnson, Acrotrichis africanoides Johnson, Acrotrichis capensis Johnson, Acrotrichis cephalotes Allibert, Acrotrichis discoloroides Johnson, Acrotrichis setigera Johnson and Acrotrichis tersa Johnson. A table is included listing all known species of Acrotrichis from Africa and the countries where they were found.

Some 2,000 Ptiliidae collected in the North and South Islands of New Zealand in 1983/1984 by Peter Hammond of the Natural History Museum, London, are determined to 34 species, four of which are new to the country. As there are very few previous records, most from the Auckland district of North Island, the Hammond collection provides much new distributional data. The three new species: Nellosana insperatus sp. n., Notoptenidium flavum sp. n., and Notoptenidium johnsoni sp. n., are described and figured; the genus Ptiliodes is moved from Acrotrichinae to Ptiliinae, and Ptenidium formicetorum Kraatz recorded as a new introduction. Information is provided to aid separation of the new species from those previously recorded.

The bethylid genus Foenobethylus Kieffer, 1913, unstudied for almost a century, is redescribed and assigned to the subfamily Pristocerinae based on a preliminary phylogenetic assessment. Four new species: F. bidentatus n. sp. (Brunei), F. elongatus n. sp. (Malaysia), F. emiliacasellae n. sp. (Thailand), and F. thomascokeri n. sp. (Malaysia) are described, based on males only, as females remain unrecognised in this genus. All specimens are deposited in the Department of Entomology, the Natural History Museum, London, U.K. The type species F. gracilis Kieffer (Philippines), although unrepresented by any traceable specimen, can be distinguished from these species based on the original description. A key to the five known species of Foenobethylus is provided.

This paper provides a comprehensive check list of Nolinae species recorded in Hong Kong, China based on the collections of the second author, Dr. Roger Kendrick and the Natural History Museum, London. The checklist comprises 30 species.  Two of them are new to science and described here as new species (Spininola kendricki sp. n., and Hampsonola ceciliae sp. n.). Misidentification of the female paratype of Spininola nepali László, Ronkay & Ronkay, 2014 is revealed and the true female of S. nepali is illustrated with its genitalia described here for the first time. The hitherto unknown female of S. armata László, Ronkay & Witt, 2010 is also illustrated here for the first time. All species recorded from Hong Kong are illustrated together with their genitalia on 54 colour and 46 black and white diagnostic figures.

The study is based on new material from the collections of the Naturalis Biodiversity Centre in Leiden (RNHM) and the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM) and addresses issues in two genera: Epeus Peckham & Peckham, 1886 and Ptocasius Simon, 1885 from Thailand. Both genera are of Asian/Indomalayan origin, the latter with a diversity hotspot in the subtropical valleys of the Himalayas. Based on morphological data, we propose three new species of Epeus (Epeus daiqini sp. nov. (♂♀), Epeus pallidus sp. nov. (♀), Epeus szirakii sp. nov. (♀)) and two new species of Ptacasius (Ptocasius metzneri sp. nov. (♂♀) and Ptocasius sakaerat sp. nov. (♀)). Additionally, we redescribed E. tener (Simon, 1877) and added photographs of morphological characters. The genus Ptocasius is redefined due to the inclusion of 37 species, previously included in Yaginumaella Prószyński, 1979. Relationships and distribution of both genera are discussed in reference to molecular, morphological and distributional data, published by other authors in recent years.

Recently, we (Akkari & Enghoff 2011) described a new species of the genus Rharodesmus Schubart, 1960, discussing the taxonomic state of the family Pyrgodesmidae and providing notes on the four genera occurring in the west Palaearctic area. However, we failed to present details on the holotype of the new species, which we now provide in this note in order to make the species name available. Thus, we describe here the new species Rharodesmus tabarkensis Akkari & Enghoff by reference to the full description given in Akkari & Enghoff (2011) with the following information on the type material: Holotype ♂, TUNISIA, NW, Jendouba Governorate, Tabarka, N36°57.8, E8°44.6, alt. < 40 m, coastal slope below the Genoese fort, under stones, 9.iii.2009, N. Akkari & H. Enghoff leg. (Natural History Museum of Denmark, Zoological Museum, University of Copenhagen, ‒ ZMUC); Paratypes: 12 ♂♂, 8 ♀♀, 14 juveniles, same locality and date as holotype, N. Akkari & H. Enghoff leg. (ZMUC).

The aphid genus Allotrichosiphum is reviewed here. Allotrichosiphum cyclobalanopsidis sp. nov. from Cyclobalanopsis neglecta in Hong Kong, China is described. Keys to the species of Allotrichosiphum worldwide are provided. The type specimens studied are deposited in the Natural History Museum, London, U.K.

The genus Tineovertex Moriuti, 1982 is revised. Eleven species are recognized, including five new ones: T. hamoides, sp. nov., from Malaysia; T. expansa, sp. nov., from Malaysia and Brunei; T. fibriformis, sp. nov., from Malaysia; T. thailandia, sp. nov., from Thailand; and T. elongata, sp. nov., from China and Thailand. Adults and genitalia of all species are illustrated, and a key to the species is provided. Types of the new species are deposited in Hunan Agricultural University, Changsha, Hunan, China; Osaka Prefecture University, Sakai, Osaka, Japan; and The Natural History Museum, London, UK.
