In this paper, we suggest that research platforms on the present Internet should offer more diverse pathways for distributed communication, to cope with the idiosyncrasies of a post-truth society. Present platforms adhere to a first-order cybernetic approach, using rule-based systems and algorithms to guide the activity of researchers, and expose them to new research findings and articles based on their preferences. The larger Internet, however, supports communities such as Reddit, that offer opportunities for pragmatic problem-solving that mirrors the ideas of second- order cybernetics, but show much potential for incivility. We first test this assumption using 704 comments responding to 25 top posts pulled from the CoronavirusUS subreddit, using a Python script. Our analyses indicate that a substantial percentage of posts in the subreddit display higher-order reflectivity (what we label transformative critical reflection) which predicts the number of upvotes received by these posts. We also found that karma, or user reputation, is not predicted by interaction between high-order reflectivity and upvotes. This suggests that posts are gauged by quality rather than users’ reputations. From these results, we infer that such communication can be mirrored in online proto-research communities, and streamlined by laying down regulations, appointing moderators, and using algorithms to guide distributed communication, and combat the propensity for chaos arising from emancipation. We lay out our design/vision for such a community, based on a dual-layered reformulation of the Open Source Educative Processes framework.

Many of us are part of the research community and all of us are consumers of new research findings. On both sides of the research enterprise—as providers and consumers—our interests are best met by broad dissemination and universal access to all published research. These are the underlying objectives of open access publishing.

In recent years, the promotion of healthy relationships at the community level has been widely and rapidly increased. However, the lack of a comprehensive definition of healthy relationships has resulted in potential difficulties in comparing community-based research findings, thus likely hindering the advancement of science and practice in this area. Defining healthy relationships is complex due to diverse personal and cultural backgrounds and types of relationships among individuals in diverse communities. In this article, a definition of healthy relationships and a new research-driven framework, the Happy, Healthy, Safe Relationships (HHSR) Continuum are presented. This HHSR Continuum is designed to be adaptable to different types of relationships, perspectives, and needs of subpopulations within communities. Although additional research is needed to further refine the HHSR Continuum, this framework potentially holds significant implications for theory and community-based practice in the promotion of healthy relationships.

BACKGROUND COVID- 19 pandemics has affected the life of every human being in this world dramatically. The daily routine of the human has been changed to an uncertain extent. Some of the people are affected by the COVID-19, and some of the people are in fear of this epidemic. This has completely changed the thorough process of the people, and now, they are looking for solutions of this pandemic at different levels of the human addressable areas. These areas include medicine, vaccination, precautions, psychology, technology-assisted solutions like information technology, etc. There is a need to think in the direction of technology compliant solutions in the era of COVID-19 pandemic. OBJECTIVE The objective of this paper is to discuss the existing views and focus on the recommendations for the enhancement in the current situation from COVID-19. METHODS Based on the literature, perceptions, challenges, and viewpoints, the following opinions are suggested to the research community for the prevention and elimination of global pandemic COVID-19. The research community irrespective of the discipline focus on the following: 1. The comprehensive thought process for the designing of the internet of things (IoT) based solutions for healthcare applications used in the prevention from COVID-19. 2. Strategies for restricting outbreak of COVID-19 with the emerging trends in Ehealthcare applications. Which should be the optimal strategy to deal with a global pandemic? 3. Explorations on the data analysis as derived from the advanced data mining and warehousing associated with IoT. Besides, cloud-based technologies can be incorporated for the global spread of healthcare-related information to serve the community of different countries in the world. 4. The most adaptable method and technology can be deployed for the development of innovative solutions for COVID-19 related people like smart, patient-centric healthcare information systems. 5. Implementation of smart solutions like wearable technology for mask and PPE along with their disposal can be considered to deal with a global epidemic like COVID-19. This will lead to the manufacturing and incorporation of wearable technologies in the healthcare sector by industries. 6. A Pervasive thought process can be standardized for dealing with global pandemic like COVID-19. In addition, research measures should be considered for the security and privacy challenges of IoT services carrying healthcare-related information. These areas and directions are diverse but, in parallel, the need for healthy bonding and correlation between the people like researchers and scientists irrespective of their discipline. The discipline may vary from medical, engineering, computing, finance, and management, etc. In addition, standard protocols and interoperability measures can be worked out for the exchange of information in the global pandemic situations. RESULTS Recommendations Discussed CONCLUSIONS In this paper, the opinions have been discussed in the multi-disciplinary areas of research like COVID-19 challenges, medicines and vaccines, precautionary measures, technology assistance, and the Internet of Things. These opinions and discussion serve as an integrated platform for researchers and scientists to think about future perspectives to deal with healthcare-related COVID-19 pandemic situation. This includes the original, significant, and visionary automation based ideas, innovations, scientific designs, and applications focusing on Inter-disciplinary technology compliant solutions like IoT, vaccinations, manufacturing, preventive measures, etc. for the improvement of efficiency and reliability of existing healthcare systems. For the future, there is dire need to strengthen the technology not only in the one area but also for the interdisciplinary areas to recover from the pandemic situation rapidly and serve the community.

Our three existing master narratives of the early Reformation in Poland are all over a century old and mutually contradictory, drawing on different sources to serve differing confessional and national/ist agendas. This chapter offers a fresh narrative of the impact of Lutheranism on the Polish composite monarchy to c.1540, synthesizing these older accounts and updating them with new research findings. This is a narrative in three parts: early signs (1517–24), the great Reformation year (1525), and aftershocks (1526–40). The chapter discusses the challenges of measuring ‘Lutheran’ sentiment, sets these Polish-Prussian events clearly in their comparative European context, and considers what implications they might have for that bigger, familiar tale. It stresses the precocity of Sigismund I’s monarchy, which saw the most far-reaching urban and violent Reformation in 1520s Europe (Danzig), a peasant Reformation rising, and Christendom’s first territorial-princely Reformation, in Ducal Prussia.

Avian bornaviral ganglioneuritis, often referred to as parrot wasting disease, is associated with a newly discovered avian virus from the taxonomic family Bornaviridae. Research regarding the pathogenesis and treatment for this disease is ongoing, with implications for understanding other emerging human and nonhuman diseases, as well as the health and ecology of wildlife. At this time, numerous questions remain unanswered regarding the transmission of the disease, best practices for diagnostic sampling and testing, and whether currently used drug therapies are effective or harmful for afflicted birds. The pathogenesis of the disease also remains unclear with many birds showing resistance to the effects of the virus and being able to remain clinically unaffected for years, while other birds succumb to its effects. New research findings regarding avian bornaviral ganglioneuritis are discussed and important as yet unanswered questions are identified.

Many infrastructures, such as those of finance and banking, transportation, military and telecommunications, are highly dependent on the Internet. However, as the Internet’s underlying structural protocols and governance can be disturbed by intruders, for its smooth operation, it is important to minimize such disturbances. Of the available techniques for achieving this, computational intelligence methodologies, such as evolutionary algorithms and swarm intelligence approaches, are popular and have been successfully applied to detect intrusions. In this paper, we present an overview of these techniques and related literature on intrusion detection, analyze their research contributions, compare their approaches and discuss new research directions which will provide useful insights for intrusion detection researchers and practitioners.
