In pediatric settings, the concept of hope is frequently positioned as a fundamental aspect of care and at odds with the possibility and proximity of death. This arguably fosters silence about death and dying in childhood despite evidence indicating the benefits of open communication at the end of life. In this paper, we describe the unspeakable nature of death and dying in childhood, including its conceptual and clinical causes and dimensions, its persistence, and the associated challenges for children and youth facing critical illnesses, their families, and society. We explore how the tension between hope and death can be reframed and apply our analysis to the context of medical assistance in dying for mature minors in Canada. Considering the lack of related literature, this paper offers initial reflections to form a framework for the unspeakable nature of death and dying in childhood and to advance the crucial need for research.

Abstract This paper is devoted to the practical tracking control for a class of flexible-joint robotic manipulators driven by DC motors. Different from the related literature where control constraint is neglected and the disturbances are excluded or only exist in one subsystem, actuator saturation is considered in this paper while the disturbances are present in all the three subsystems. This leads to the incapability of the traditional schemes on this topic. For this, a novel control design scheme is proposed by skillfully incorporating adaptive dynamic compensation technique, constructive methods of command filters and an auxiliary system for the actuator saturation into the backstepping framework, and in turn to design a practical tracking controller which ensures that all the states of the resulting closed-loop system are bounded and the system output practically tracks the reference signal. It is worthwhile strengthening that a more wider class of reference signals can be tracked since they are only first order continuously differentiable but twice or more in the related literature. Finally, a numerical example is provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.

The NIPSC Library is currently using manual-based in keeping the theses and dissertation in order to save more time and easy way of finding related literature, an alternative solution to solve the current problem was developed. The “Theses and Dissertations Abstract E-Archiving System with SMS Support”, a system provides borrowers with real-time information in finding related literature. The architectural design used in this system is N-tier architecture. Since it is connected to the Local Area Network inside the library, the researchers can easily access the resources in wired and wireless network to help the Librarians and the researchers inside and outside the library to access the electronic archiving, the collections of abstract theses and dissertations in wired and wireless network to view, download in jpeg format for the protection of copyright and IPR law which can be printed in real-time. The developed Theses and Dissertations Abstract E-Archiving System with SMS Support was based on the result and findings of surveys, electronic archiving of theses and dissertations were accessible just in time, the developed system can perform its required functions efficiently while sharing a common environment and resources without detrimental the impact on any other product.

This paper examines transnational e-entrepreneurs enabled by e-platforms through the lens of entrepreneurship process theories. The authors argue that transnational e-entrepreneurs engaging in necessity-driven e-entrepreneurship have been neglected in current related literature. This paper first proposes that transnational e-entrepreneurship research should be conducted in a framework of cross-country e-entrepreneurial ecosystem that combines host- and home-country entrepreneurial ecosystems and digital ecosystems. Then the framework was tested by case studies and proved to be valid. The paper found that e-platforms enabled necessity-driven transnational entrepreneurs to operate in the same manner with opportunity-drive entrepreneurship. The authors also conclude future research themes for transnational e-entrepreneurship study should separate necessity-driven and opportunity-driven entrepreneurs. It suggests the policymaker needs to emphasize necessity-driven e-entrepreneurs.

In this manuscript, p-cyclic orbital ϕ-contraction map over closed, nonempty, convex subsets of a uniformly convex Banach space X possesses a unique best proximity point if the auxiliary function ϕ is strictly increasing. The given result unifies and extend some existing results in the related literature. We provide an illustrative example to indicate the validity of the observed result.

Spontaneous resolution or thrombosis of giant or ruptured intracranial aneurysms is occasionally reported. However, spontaneous resolution of unruptured aneurysms without any intervention is extremely rare. Recently, we encountered a case of spontaneous resolution of a small unruptured aneurysm of the anterior communicating artery. We describe this rare case and discuss the mechanism of resolution with a review of the related literature.

The problems posed by coal mining in East Kalimantan have an environmental impact and an imbalance of economic growth with social development. In practice, mine management that does not meet the principles of good management, such as corrupt practices, uncontrolled mining permits, indicates the need for a particular study related to coal mining policies and regulations in East Kalimantan Province. Therefore, this paper is intended to analyze aspects of coal mining policy and regulation as well as policy implications to improve coal mining governance, especially in the perspective of preventing corruption in coal mining management in East Kalimantan. This research uses the desk study method with descriptive analysis of related literature related to coal mining management, especially in East Kalimantan. The results of this study indicate that the governance of coal mining in East Kalimantan needs to be improved in the context of Law Number 3 of 2020 concerning Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining through the application of natural resource management principles as well as the application of the concept of governance. , the need to improve policies and governance of coal mines (licensing, transparency, and law enforcement) and the need to strengthen the institutional system in the management of this mine.

Purpose: The aim of this work is to describe the architecture of Minusinsk, a small Siberian town, in line with the interests of the local merchants. The paper is relevant because of the low level of knowledge of the historical and cultural heritage of small towns in Siberia and the problems of preserving their cultural heritage.Methodology/approach: The related literature review, comparative analysis of the architecture and systems structural analysis of information. Theoretical works of scholars, historians and architects and the author’s literature and materials.Practical implications: The obtained results can be used for preparation of lectures and reports on the history of Siberian architecture. Preservation and efficient use of merchant buildings will contribute to the improvement of the city status and the development of its tourist attractiveness.Originality/value: The study of historical and cultural heritage of Minusinsk, a large merchant capital with mansion construction and industrial and commercial buildings.Findings: Minusinsk is of great interest as a historical merchant city. In the old city, there are numerous wooden and brick buildings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They locate in central streets and squares of the old city and have specific appearance.
