This study investigates health seekers’ acceptance and adoption determinants of telemedicine services in a rural public hospital setting in an emerging economy using an adapted, extended Technology Acceptance Model. The present study pursued synthesising a plethora of existing literature and contextualised the significance of seven broad categories of potential determinants that significantly affect patients’ acceptance and adoption intentions: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, self-efficacy, service quality, privacy and data security, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The partial least square structural equation modeling technique was employed to test the conceptual model and research hypotheses. A cross-sectional survey was administered among 500 telemedicine users in randomly selected rural and remote areas of Bangladesh. Excluding self-efficacy and ease of use, five determinants expressively contributed to patients’ acceptance of telemedicine adoption, explaining 65% of the variance (R2) in behavioural Intention. The empirical findings have the quality of rigour obtained from rich data sets in health informatics and can contribute to build telemedicine into an institutionalised health infrastructure in Bangladesh and similar settings. Pertinent implications, limitations and future research directions were recommended to secure the long-term sustainability of telemedicine healthcare projects.

With the accelerating industrialization of 5G-V2X and smart automobiles, the intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) integrated with sophisticated communication, caching, computing, and control techniques enhance the functionality of in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and also provide more powerful telematic or entertainment choices in vehicular environment. The diverse needs of ICV users (e.g., drivers and passengers) can be satisfied during commuting and traveling. However, considering the limitations of transportation environment, the potential attitude and usage behavior for the upcoming ICV infotainment directly impacts on the traffic and road safety in sustainable cities. In this paper, we conduct an online and offline survey to investigate the key factors influencing the user attitude and intention of ICV infotainment, where the answers of a total of 502 valid respondents (i.e., IVI users) are collected in China. A conceptual technology acceptance model with the constructs of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), social influence (SI), consumer innovation (CI), and perceived risk (PR) is established, and then assessed via partial least square structural equation modeling. We find that the constructs of PU, PEOU, CI, and SI have a direct impact on attitude and usage intention, of which 46.8% and 73.4% of variance, respectively, are explained. The respondents show positive attitudes and higher usage intention towards the ICV infotainment. Although PR has insignificant path with attitude and intention, the driving experience moderation effect exists between PR and usage intention. We can see that ICV infotainment will become a trend in future transportation scenario. Through this survey, reference for traffic safety and usage norms will be provided to reduce the risky of public health issues (e.g., traffic accidents) in the context of ICV infotainment.

This study aims to investigate e-commerce adoption using extended technology acceptance model (TAM) by adding self-efficacy and anxiety. The research samples included 233 undergraduate students were collected using an online survey form distributed through chat groups and social media. The collected data were analysed using partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to investigate the proposed hypotheses in the model. This study found that self-efficacy has no impact towards perceived usefulness, self-efficacy has positive significant impact towards perceived ease of use, anxiety has no impact on both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness has positive significant impact towards attitude, perceived ease of use has no impact towards attitude, perceived ease of use has positive significant impact on perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness has no impact towards e-commerce adoption, perceived ease of use has positive significant impact towards e-commerce adoption, and attitude has a positive significant impact towards e-commerce adoption. These findings further confirmed that TAM not only could be used to predict e-ticketing, e-learning, e-payment, and e-commerce purchase adoption but also e-commerce entrepreneurship. This study also further confirmed that the relationship between extended variable such as self-efficacy and anxiety with TAM variables might vary according to where the investigation was being held.

Abstract   The development of banking service technology now allows us to do non-cash transactions using various media. Electronic money as one of the favorite media that is widely used by the public is now experiencing innovation with the new breakthrough of Electronic Money Flazz Gen 2 that can conduct transaction services via smartphones. With this latest innovation comes a question related to what factors that influence people using electronic money Flazz Gen 2. Therefore, quantitative research using a questionnaire conducted using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method assisted by software SmartPLS 3.0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatn jurnal elektronik dan meneliti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa memanfaatkan jurnal elektronik berdasarkan teori Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) yang dikembangkan oleh Davis (1989) yang sudah teruji sebagai tolok ukur dalam tujuan dan perilakuk individu dalam memanfaatkan teknologi. Penelitian menambahkan faktor-faktor eksternal complexity, user training dan self efficacy selain menggunakan variabel standar TAM yaitu perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention of use, dan actual to use. Seratus mahasiswa yang menggunakan jurnal elektronik menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan partial least square (PLS) untuk menjelaskan ada atau tidaknya hubungan antar variabel. Google classroom can work in unidirectional process as it can serve the teachers’ strategies and styles on one hand and students’ perception, understanding, and effective participation in different classroom skills on the other hand. The ac-ceptance of Google classroom is affected by different factors. Some of them are still not clearly specified and discussed in previous research; therefore, they need further investigation. Based on the previous assumption, this study is an attempt to examine the factors that affect the students’ acceptance of Google classroom at Al Buraimi University College (BUC) in Oman. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adopted to formulate the hypotheses of the current study. The data was collected through an online questionnaire with 337 respondents. The Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach was used to assess both the measurement and structural models. The results of the study prove that both the perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) positively influence the behavioral intention, which in turn influence the actual usage of Google classrooms. This study helps the decision makers of the higher educational institutions to have a better understanding of the effectiveness of us-ing Google classroom by their students. It is assumed that it helps in measuring the level of students’ acceptance to the previously mentioned technology.

The current study examined factors affecting higher education students’ use of a mobile-based Learning Management System (m-LMS) for distance education during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). A survey instrument based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was established and validated. The primary data were gathered from 1032 responses. The data were computed in SmartPLS 3.2. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) procedures were conducted to assess the measurement and structural models. The proposed model is valid and reliable. Findings of the study show that relationships emerge in seven out of ten hypotheses. The strongest relationship is between Perceived Usefulness and Attitude while the weakest exists between Perceived Ease of Use and Attitude. This study emphasizes awareness about the use of m-LMS in education, especially during distance education due to pandemics like Covid-19. The model is expected to provide a useful base for future academicians interested in conducting similar topics of research.


The factors of context-awareness and mobile ubiquity are major components in the development and diffusion of any mobile technology-driven applications and services. Principally in the m-government development space, the issues of context-awareness and ubiquity are crucial if m-government initiatives are to be successful. The moderating effect of context-awareness and ubiquity on mobile government adoption is examined for 409 students from a Chinese University based on the Technology Acceptance Model. Using the Structural Equation Modeling technique, the results indicate that perceived ease of use (PEOU) was significantly related to intention to use, but perceived usefulness (PU) did not have a significant effect on mobile government adoption. The moderating analysis indicated that context-awareness significantly moderated the impact of PU but had no moderating effect on PEOU. Also, it was discovered that ubiquity was significant in moderating both the PEOU and PU on mobile government adoption. Policy implications and directions for future research are presented.

Employment among people with disabilities remains debatable. This paper investigates employers' points of view towards accepting technological assistance for employees with disabilities at the workplace. Specifically, this paper examines the effects of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on acceptance towards Office Assistance Application among employers to disabled employees. Acceptance towards any technology has been broadly tested using Davis' Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). To prove if that is the case or not for Office Assistance Applications within the context of employers to employees with disabilities, this research was undertaken to affirm the past research. Data was collected via online questionnaires from 35 employers to Micro Enterprises organization. 6 of surveyed employers were current employers to disabled workers, 18 employers affirmed interest to employ PWDs in the future with 9 employers asserted no interest to hire disabled workers. Data was analysed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The result showed two hypotheses were supported evidencing positive and significant relationship between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and relationship between perceived usefulness and technology acceptance. Findings are useful for employers to improve functions of their disabled workers at the workplace along with increasing employment prospects for people with disabilities.

Although major contributions are being made by Social Networking Sites (SNS) in communications and e-commerce, very little attention has been given to its implementation. This study contributes to technology and human interaction domain by (1) extending the technology acceptance model (TAM), personality trait and telepresence in developing a comparative mode based on the behavioral intention, (2) testing the model with Partial Least Square (PLS) using Facebook user's data; and (3) comparing result across a developed (Taiwan) and an emerging (Thailand) economy. Results indicate TAM was to fit to test the behavioral intention model in these two economies. The findings support for the telepresence, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use, attitude and behavioral intention; however, the effect levels are different in these two countries (Taiwan vs. Thailand). In addition, only extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism of the big-five personality have been discussed.

Purpose – This paper aims to examine whether self-efficacy plays an important role in shaping the effect of cognition and affects in high technology adoption. It also examines whether cognition and affect mediate the effect of self-efficacy on attitude toward adoption. Design/methodology/approach – Using an experimental survey to collect data, subjects performed two different tasks (utilitarian and hedonic) to make sure that they had cognitive and affective experiences to draw upon as they developed attitudes toward the focal innovation. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the model. Findings – The result shows that self-efficacy influenced cognitive perceptions and emotional reactions. Specifically, self-efficacy was found to play a substantive role in shaping individuals’ attitudes via a cognitive route (perceived usefulness and ease-of-use) and an affective one (pleasure, arousal and dominance). Research limitations/implications – The study of self-efficacy as an external variable provides further insights into the process and is expected to increase the explained variance of the theoretical model. Practical implications – This study confirms that a belief about something besides the product also plays a key role; it is the confidence consumers have in their own abilities to understand and effectively use a new piece of technology. Originality/value – The research makes important contributions to our understanding of technology acceptance and has implications for marketing managers.
