Abstract METGLAS MBF-20A is a general-purpose, nickel-base filler metal well suited for brazing stainless steels and heat-resisting nickel alloys. It is supplied as ductile, flexible metallic-glass foil that can be stamped or cut into precision preforms to fit complex joints; it acts as its own shim. It is 100% metal, 100% dense and contains no organic binders to remove by baking. At elevated temperatures in brazed joints it has an outstanding combination of strength, fatigue properites and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. It is used in the aerospace industry for joining internal assemblies. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, tensile properties. It also includes information on heat treating. Filing Code: Ni-262. Producer or source: Allied Chemical Corporation.
